Panic and confusion gripped the crowd; nobody understood what was happening. Just then, a massive gate slid open, and the students were ushered inside. Suddenly, a spaceship AI activated. A holographic projection appeared, greeting them with a mechanical yet polite voice.
"Hello, and welcome to the Vyom Spaceship."
The students recoiled in fear at the sudden sound. One student stepped forward and asked, trembling, "Who are you?"
"I am Veda, an Artificial Intelligence," the voice replied calmly. "I control this entire ship. How has your journey been? Have you faced any problems?"
Before anyone could answer, a mysterious, commanding voice overrode the system and ordered Veda: "Start the test."
Veda’s tone shifted. "Before I can answer your questions, you must pass a test. This will evaluate your physical strength, mental acuity, teamwork, and danger sensing. Prepare yourselves."
The students looked at one another, confused. "What type of test?" someone whispered. Many students began to beg the AI, crying out, "Please, let us go home! We don't want to stay here!"
But Veda did not listen.
Suddenly, the ground beneath them gave way. Screams filled the air as they fell into a lower arena. Veda appeared above them.
"Now, my players, get ready. Here, we will test your teamwork skills and power," Veda announced. "You must fight the bots you see entering the arena. Do not try to back down, because the ground is breaking apart behind you. You have ten minutes to strategize."
The students scrambled to form a plan. The NCC (National Cadet Corps) and NSS (National Service Scheme) teams immediately took charge.
Krishna thought quickly, assessing the situation. he told himself.
The test began.
"Take positions!" ordered Aditya, a senior NCC cadet.
The frontline formed a wall. "Fire!" Aditya shouted. The group unleashed a barrage of attacks on the approaching bots. The NCC cadets displayed excellent coordination and weapon handling.
"Make the Diamond Position!" shouted Som, another senior, referring to a defensive formation taught during their training. "Attack the bots!"
They shifted seamlessly into various formations—line defense, sphere position—adapting to every wave of enemies. Behind them, the support and strategy teams played their roles perfectly. The NSS team used their first aid knowledge to help those who were knocked back or injured.
Finally, the Boss Bot appeared—a massive, heavily armored machine that looked nearly impossible to defeat.
"Surround the bot!" Aditya ordered. "Rocket launcher team, fire at will!"
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
The cadets poured continuous fire onto the giant machine. It was a brutal fight; many students were knocked out or eliminated during the chaos. At last, the massive bot crashed to the ground, defeated.
Veda’s voice echoed through the hall. "Congratulations. However, many have been eliminated. Only thirty students remain."
A new gate opened, revealing a new challenge.
"This is your second test," Veda explained. "You must cross this vast maze."
The students ran into the maze, desperate to finish, but there was a twist: the walls were constantly shifting. The path changed every few seconds, separating the group and causing panic.
Krishna ran frantically through the corridors but couldn't find an exit. He stopped, forcing himself to breathe and observe. He noticed an unusual pattern in the shifting walls.
he thought.
Testing his theory, he moved in short bursts. It worked. "I found the way!" he shouted. Following his lead, others began to figure it out, while some carved their own paths through sheer luck.
When the time was up, only ten students were left.
Veda appeared again. "You are the finalists. Siddharth, Devraj, Shiva, Aditya, Som, and Krishna—you have passed."
Another gate opened. "Now for the final test," Veda said. "This is a simple task. You must only cross this narrow path."
The students looked down and gasped in horror. The narrow path was suspended directly above a pool of bubbling, molten lava.
"This is madness!" one student cried. "If we fall, we die!"
The third test began.
The first student stepped onto the path. Halfway across, he lost his balance. With a terrified scream, he fell into the lava and vanished.
"Be careful!" Krishna yelled, his fists clenching in anger at the AI. The scene horrified the remaining students. They were being asked to risk their lives for a game.
One by one, they attempted the crossing. Some made it; others fell. Finally, it was Krishna’s turn.
He moved slowly, inch by inch. Suddenly, a small earthquake shook the room. The bridge swayed violently. Krishna understood now why the others had struggled—the environment itself was fighting them. His foot slipped, and for a heart-stopping second, he dangled over the heat. He managed to compose himself, pull his body back up, and scramble to the other side.
He had passed, but he felt no joy—only grief for the companions he thought he had lost.
"Congratulations to the five students who passed all tests," Veda announced.
Aditya exploded with rage. "Why are you doing this? What do you gain from this torture? You have no respect for life!"
A new gate opened, and a mysterious figure stepped out.
"I am Dr. K," the figure introduced himself. "I live on the planet Poura, which lies far away from here. I am a scientist, and I have wanted to study your planet for 5,000 years."
The news shocked the students into silence.
"I have learned many things about you," Dr. K continued, "but I needed to conduct experiments on humans. That is why I took you. You fit perfectly into my first experiment."
"We are just lab rats to you?" Aditya shouted. "Is that why you killed our friends?"
Dr. K laughed, a cold, echoing sound. "Yes, yes, you are my lab rats. I 'killed' your friends to test your emotional stability and performance under stress. But look..."
He gestured to a screen. "They are all alive. I have no desire to waste my test subjects."
"Open the gate," Dr. K commanded.
The survivors rushed forward and saw their friends—shaken, but alive. Relief washed over them.
Aditya turned back to the scientist. "You say we have to take part in your experiment. But what if we refuse?"
Dr. K smiled an evil smile. "If you refuse to take part in my experiment, I will make the entire Earth my laboratory. You have two choices: either you become part of the experiment, or your Earth will suffer the consequences."
The students whispered among themselves, terrified. "What do we do?"
Suddenly, Krishna stepped forward. "What is there to think about? We will take part in your experiment to protect our people and our Earth."
Dr. K smiled. "Good. Prepare yourselves."
He turned and walked into his dark room. The students stood trembling, afraid of what would happen next.
Inside the shadows of his room, Dr. K established a communication link with an unknown contact. He spoke just one sentence:
"We got the human race."
