Chapter 53- The Global Summit

In the council room of the Knight's Fortress sit some of the most important people in the world.

General Kojiro, Minister Lai, and President Samir from Ashvara.

Advisors Edmund and Rowan, as well as King Alexander from Valtoria.

Chief Gunnar from Varrsund arrived on his own, in one ship without staff.

And on Elarium's side of the table sits Jermaine, Magnus, and King Ari.

Jermaine breaks the silence on Gunnars lonesomeness.

"So, Chief Gunnar, where are your two advisors?"

Gunnar's long, auburn hair shifts as he looks at Jermaine with an unamused look.

He speaks through a thick accent.

  "I kill them."

  "Too weak.

"Much like little king of yours."

The entire table but Valtoria's side is shocked.

  Gunnar continues.

  "I always wonder, Jermaine."

"Why you don't kill the little man?"

"You so strong, and just to be third highest in kingdom?"

  Jermaine looks offended.

"Because, I don't need to be high up to know I'm strong."

King Alexander speaks up, deep and intimidating voice cutting through the brief silence.

"Neither do I, Jermaine, yet here I am, the King of the largest kingdom in the world."

  "And conquered by hand, too."

"My point is, you're a pathetic man being ordered by an even more pathetic man."

"And just because you don't want to shake shit up too much."

  Jermaine's face goes straight.

  "Why don't we fight then?"

Alexander chuckles, amused by the idea.

"Well I wouldn't want little Ari losing his lapdog."

General Kojiro is obviously steaming but holds his tongue.

  Gunnar boldly speaks up again.

"I remember when his father was in charge."

"He was good king, actually imposing force."

"Used power of the Gods to do something, instead of sitting on chair pretending to be important."

"But now it just a little baby getting babysat by two giants."

Minister Lai, the youngest at the table, bursts out.

"Then why don't you take him on?"

"Your entire military force versus his?"

Gunnar is shocked he's even talking, the other two from Ashvara haven't spoken a word.

  His outburst continues.

"Because you've bred out any sort of intelligence or tactical talent for strength."

  "And for what?"

"So they get killed by you because they weren't strong enough to put a dent in the strongest man in Varrsund."

  Lai sits back down.

  "I apologize for my outburst."

Gunnar bursts into laughter, a booming noise that almost shakes the entire fortress,

  "This one has spirit!"

"Unlike other two from those islands!"

President Samir, the oldest in the room by at least thirty years mediates.

  "Now, let's calm down."

"We should be discussing what we really need to, not petty grievances."

Gunnar silences out of respect for the man, though he's about ten times his size.

  Jermaine clears his throat.

  "Thank you, Samir."

"Elarium recently had a large conflict, where we lost many many low ranking troops."

"We lost two Admirals and one General in addition to these low ranked losses."

"We have promotions in mind for each of them but it'll leave the Sergeant rank a bit understaffed."

"So expect requests of aid for any conflicts that happen within a time frame of a few months."

"For the promotions, our new General's name is Matthew, a former Admiral, and our best pick from that rank.

"Since we lost two Admirals and are moving one up, we need three people to replace the empty spots."

"Those three people recently became Knights and their names are Aaron, Laura, and James."

"All three show great promise to go even further."

"Though they're a bit inexperienced and were only Sergeants, they show more promise than any current Admiral."

  "That'll be all from Elarium."

  "Any other important matters?"

A collective "No" rings through the room, concluding this Global Summit.
