CHAPTER - 159
"Mama is fine, little Myry,"
Selene said sweetly with a tired smile, as she slowly got out of bed.
Her soft, tousled dark brown hair fell over her shoulders.
Barefoot, she walked quietly to the bathroom to rinse her face with fresh water.
When she looked at herself in the mirror, she saw the faint dark circles under her eyes, but also a certain serenity painted on her face.
After drying herself, she moved to the small kitchen, where she opened the fridge and took out a bottle of fruit juice.
Sipping it, she stretched and yawned as she crossed the living room, still immersed in the dim light of early morning.
That was when she noticed the dishes on the low table in front of the sofa.
Curious, she bent down, lifted the lids, and saw soft, golden pancakes, accompanied by raspberry jam and fragrant brioche.
The sweet smell wrapped around her nose and warmed her heart.
A small smile appeared on her lips.
She immediately noticed: the kitchen was clean and shining, tidy as if no one had ever set foot there.
Typical of him.
With a tender smile, she picked up Myrrhya, in the form of a small sword surrounded by a faint aura, and sat down on the sofa, placing her nearby.
"Papa takes good care of you,"
Myrrhya said, her voice melodic and curious.
"I don't know much... but I think this can be called love, right, Mama?"
Selene laughed softly, amused, as she spread the jam on the pancakes.
"Right, Myry,"
she confirmed, eating calmly and savoring every bite.
After finishing breakfast, still not fully recovered, she leaned back against the sofa, closing her eyes for a moment.

She then decided to pick up her phone and call her sister-in-law to update her on the situation.
Meanwhile, in the arena, the high sun filtered through the large windows, illuminating the training grounds.
Dav walked slowly among the rows of students training fervently.
From time to time, he stopped near Leo and the other promising youths, observing attentively without interrupting their exercises.
His serious gaze moved quickly from one movement to another, noting every improvement, every hesitation.
He slightly lifted the left corner of his mouth in a hint of a satisfied smile.
He walked silently among the magical dummies and the holographic projections of monsters, like a predator among a pack of growing cubs.
Less than a month separated the students from the academy’s internal tournament.
Only ten would earn the privilege of representing it at the international tournament.
The tension was palpable in the air.
Once the session ended, the noisy crowd of students poured toward the cafeteria.
Dav, Kael, and Eldrin headed there too.
Upon arriving, Dav saw Iris standing near the entrance, holding a bag of drinks and a tray already prepared for him.
Her gentle smile and determined gaze welcomed him.
"Go to Selene,"
she said firmly but affectionately.
"She’s probably alone and hungry.
I don't want her to feel neglected."
Dav nodded, grabbing the tray and bag, responding with a small grateful smile before walking away.
At the cafeteria, Eldrin sat down noisily, laughing.
Eldrin: He's having lunch without us again
[he commented amused, biting into a large portion of meat.]
Eldrin: After that hellish training, he couldn’t just leave her alone.
[Meanwhile, Kael was breaking a piece of bread.]
Kael: Selene is strong, we all saw it
(with admiration) But I wonder how much stronger she'll become.
Narrator: From the end of the table, Rafael, raising his glass, commented provocatively
Rafael: (Serious) Davy wasn’t even trying.
It looked like he was playing with her.
Evelyn: (serious, adding) It was like watching Selene fight against Mount Everest...
the difference was abyssal.
Vittorio: (thoughtful) But what would have happened if she hadn't drained all her strength in her final attack?
[Valeria, composed and elegant, intervened while chewing]
Valeria: Selene is strong, but she would have lost anyway.
That's reality.
Narrator: A brief silence fell, until Rugerus, with his usual optimistic smile, spoke up
Rugerus: It was still a great duel. And soon she'll be called for the new evaluation.
Get ready for the commotion!
Eldrin: (bursting into laughter) What a mess it’ll be then, AHAHAH!
Narrator: Meanwhile, Dav knocked on Selene’s room door, and, hearing a faint
"Come in,"
he gently pushed it open.
He found her tying up her tousled hair, a cracker between her lips, her movements still sleepy and clumsy.
Her ice-blue eyes, half-closed, lit up upon seeing him.
"Sele, we need to have lunch. Come here,"
Dav said, showing her the tray and the bag.
Selene hurried over, smiling, quickly setting the small table with a placemat.
The two, in silent complicity, prepared the lunch.
Dav looked at her, his smile sweet and worried.
"How’s our warrior? Feeling any better?"
Selene, sitting down slowly, sighed and rested her cheek in her hand.
"I feel a bit better, but I'm still very tired...
I haven't recovered all my energy yet."
The warm sun filtered into the room, and for an instant, time seemed to stand still.
Dav smiled reassuringly.
"There’s no rush, Sele. Right now, let’s just focus on getting you back in shape."
And as they began to eat together, a quiet peace filled the room.
