CHAPTER - 147 [Happiness And Normality]

  CHAPTER - 147

Narrator: The hours passed slowly and silently.

Inside the small wooden cabin immersed in the darkness of night, only a faint light from the fire and the occasional crackle of burning wood lit the interior.

  Seated, Dav worked with dedication.

His hands skilled, blackened by heat and fatigue were finishing the final detail on the sword's handle: the initials DL, carved at the center, shiny and precise.

  De Lion. His name.

  His signature.

  Around him, only silence.

The night wind barely stirred the trees, and the only sound was the crackling of the flame.

The stars, infinite in the black sky, watched over him.

And among them all, the full moon seemed to stand guard, like a silent mother.

Dav paused for a moment, tired but determined.

From the dimensional rift he carried, he drew a rare, secret, hidden object: a black crystal.

Large, gleaming, with violet reflections within.

He broke off only a tiny piece about the size of a finger with extreme care, avoiding any risk of unleashing its true power.

He gripped the fragment in his hand and, using the controlled heat of his black fire, began melting it slowly.

One drop, then another, slid along the blade, flowing perfectly into the zig-zag veins he had engraved earlier.

Another liquid strand seeped into the initials on the handle, fusing with the steel.

The crystal disappeared, but its essence remained.

And yet, as he looked at the result, Dav saw nothing different.

No glow, no tremor, nothing that revealed the effect.

With a sigh of resignation, he wrapped the sword in a clean cloth and left it on the shelf, in the dim light of the cabin.

“Maybe I should’ve used it differently… and not melted it? Meh…”

he thought, heading toward his room.

“I only used a fragment, worst case it won’t be a problem.”

The moon followed his steps, while a crushing fatigue weighed down on him.

The next day, the arena was already bustling.

The students were training under the watchful eye of Eldrin, joined by Evelyn and Selene.

Dav arrived later, yawning long and with heavy dark circles under his eyes.

  He was quickly noticed.

Only Eldrin approached him, with a friendly smile:

“Today we’ve got more work, right? I don’t think it’s finished.”

Dav returned the look, smiling with satisfaction:

  “We’re done, Eldrin.”

  The other stared, stunned.

“Where... where is it? Let me see!”

He followed him to the cabin, and when Dav lifted the cloth, Eldrin was left speechless.

  “This is…!”

His voice caught in his throat.

  Dav chuckled softly, aware:

“I already know who it’s for.”

Eldrin, overcome with excitement, gave Dav a hearty slap on the back, laughing loudly.

From the arena, Selene watched them with a focused gaze, continuing her thrusts with precision.

At lunchtime, everyone gathered in the cafeteria.

When they saw Dav sitting at his usual spot, he was immediately surrounded by smiles and questions.

Director: (curious) How’s your new hobby going? Ahah!

Dav: (glancing at Eldrin) Can’t complain.

I’ve learned a lot from wise people… and a few stolen books here and there.

Eldrin (smiling) You did great, kid.

Kael: (puffing his chest) We’re talking about Dav. He’s beyond normal. He can do anything!

Evelyn: (laughing, looking at Kael) Adorable!

Narrator: From behind the counter, Iris appeared with a radiant smile and rushed to bring him his favorite burger and fries.

She sat beside him, as always.

Even Valeria, seated at her place, gently touched his leg under the table with a silent smile.

Selene, on the other side, felt down.

She hadn’t sat next to him again since the last time.

Dav noticed her sadness, and a pang of guilt struck him.

He looked at her and said, lifting one corner of his lip:

“Sele… after lunch, come to the arena. Let’s make up for yesterday’s training.”

Selene looked up, surprised, then nodded with a shy smile.

After lunch, the arena welcomed them.

Dav took off his jacket, remaining in his fitted shirt.

He saw that Selene was still distracted.

“I can tell something’s bothering you. What is it?”

  he asked.

  Selene gripped her wooden sword.

  “Nothing! Don’t worry.

I’m happy you’re back eating with us.

And that you found a nice hobby.”

Dav stared at the sky, lying lightly:

  “Almost forgot.

  I’ve got something for you.

I made it with heart… I hope you won’t hate it too much.”

Selene followed him curiously to the cabin.

Dav returned with an object wrapped in cloth and handed it to her.

“I wanted to give it to you in a better moment, but… I don’t even know when your birthday is.

I hope it’s okay, even just for training.”

Selene’s eyes widened. When the cloth unwrapped, she saw it. The sword.

Maybe not perfect in Dav’s eyes, but unique. And hers.

  A silence filled the air.

Selene brushed the blade with trembling fingers.

  Tears streamed down her cheeks.

  Dav chuckled quietly:

“Is it that ugly that it made you cry…?”

Selene tried in vain to hide the tears.

She had always been seen as a cold, strong girl, a royal guard.

And now she cried like a child.

  “Sele, if I hurt you, I’m sorry…”

  he said, stepping closer.

  “I-It’s not your fault…”

  she replied, voice breaking.

“It’s just that… I didn’t expect such dedication for someone you’ve known so little.”

  Dav gently brushed her hair.

Selene, overwhelmed by emotion, suddenly embraced him.

  Dav hugged her back.

  “Wanna test it out?”

  he finally whispered.

And there, under the blue sky and before the empty arena, a new bond was born, forged in fire and heart.
