CHAPTER - 140 [Early Morning In The Room]

  CHAPTER - 140

Dav: (With a goofy look) My day? Well, nothing interesting.

But I met the doctor of our academy or one of many and her student.

A rather intelligent girl, ranked first in the exam, can you believe it?

Narrator: With a goofy expression, looking at Valeria and starting to worry about how she was staring at him.

"Damn it, you only talked, right?"

she asked, pulling his cheeks hard with one eyebrow raised and a sharp look.

"The first time was about my hands, I had noticed the skin cracking from too many thrusts...

and today, by pure chance, while she was dragging a big black bag..."

Dav paused, slightly raising his hands in defense.

"At first I thought she had killed someone and was trying to hide it, but actually she was carrying some objects...

  and things like herbs."

Trying to explain himself, Dav somehow managed to convince Valeria, who crossed her arms, still doubtful but intrigued.

With one hand on her cheek, she asked:

"Do you have plans for tomorrow? I want to make up for the time we were apart today, and I couldn’t bother you."

Dav, with a goofy face and crooked lip, thought:

"Even if there wasn’t the commission with Iris, she would’ve been the one to ask me something...

I didn’t stand a chance from the start."

Then he looked at Valeria and said:

"Usually I’m with Iris, helping her with shopping, and then we have lunch out.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

If you want to join, you should ask her.

And you should do it now, because it’ll be dinner time soon."

Valeria stood up abruptly, pulled his cheeks again, this time to tease him and ran off toward Iris with determined steps.

Dav watched the scene with a blank stare:

  "Women..."

Then he stopped, as if struck by a sudden thought.

"Shit, I forgot to ask her where the Ki book ended up...

I got fooled by her little games!"

Sighing, with his back against the desk, he stood up and went to his room.

  "What a day..."

  The next day

Dav woke up with a visible bubble on his nose.

He got up yawning and went to the bathroom, starting to brush his teeth while making funny noises with his mouth full of water.

He spat everything into the sink and splashed his face to wake up better, looking at himself in the mirror for a few seconds.

"I wonder if these scars will ever disappear...

  Let’s not think about it."

With a chuckle to himself, he got dressed and headed to Iris’s room.

He walked through the female section of the professors’ and staff’s dormitory and knocked on the door.

  "It’s me, I’m coming in."

He entered, glancing into the three rooms, until he saw her: Iris was sleeping alongside Valeria, both under the same blanket.

He also noticed he was about thirty minutes early, and that usually, it was Iris who woke him up.

He observed Iris’s room: more beautiful and cozy than he expected.

A modern style, with a nice sofa facing a TV, a rug underneath, and a coffee table in front.

An elegant chandelier hung from the ceiling, the walls decorated in black and white.

To the left, a small kitchen with a stovetop and fridge, and a bathroom with a glass shower and ceramic sink, lit by a soft yellow light.

Dav also noticed the many towels with teddy bears printed on them and looked at them with a goofy face.

He sat on the bed and, to pass the time, began reading a fashion magazine found on the coffee table.

After ten minutes, Iris slowly opened her eyes, still blurry.

She saw someone sitting in front of her, legs crossed, engrossed in reading something.

She squinted several times until she clearly recognized Dav.

"Good morning, kitten. Are you lost?"

  she said, yawning and smiling.

  Dav, still reading, replied:

"I didn’t expect to find Valeria too. Did something happen?"

Iris turned toward Valeria, still asleep, her face buried in the pillow.

"We were talking yesterday after dinner.

We came to my room, talking about fashion, reading magazines, and trying on outfits she suggested for today.

  Then she stayed over."

Dav lowered the magazine and looked at her:

  "I see.

Take your time, and eat something before going out."

Iris shook Valeria several times to wake her up, until she opened her eyes with difficulty, mumbling:

"Vale, we have to go shopping, remember?"

  Valeria, still half-asleep, replied:

  "Yeah, yeah..."

Dav watched the scene with a focused look, narrowing his eyes slightly with a goofy face:

  "Huh, her too, then."

Valeria shot him a deadly look, stood up rubbing her face, and got closer to him, pulling his cheeks again.

"What do you mean by > Her too, then?! <"

Dav, with his cheeks pulled, tried to speak:

  "I was just asking..."
