16 - The Bizarre Footage

As everyone wondered why the six individuals were being so cautious, the camera feed showed them entering the Death Shack.

Jake Johnson switched the view, and the interior of the Death Shack instantly appeared on the monitor.

The crowd perked up, temporarily putting their doubts aside, focusing intently on the Death Shack shown on the screen.

But after a few glances, they were somewhat disappointed.

Ethan scratched his head, asking, "Boss, are you sure this is the Death Shack, the most crucial part of the entire haunted house?"

The others also looked over, clearly awaiting an answer to their shared question.

  Jake Johnson nodded.

Ian Smith chuckled, "Do you guys think this room is too ordinary?"

  Ethan blurted out, "Isn't it?"

The layout of the Death Shack was clear at a glance.

There was only a table and a few chairs, along with slightly eerie ghost faces on the walls; the overall style leaned towards the gloomy side.

Such a setup could only be described as mediocre.

Ninety-nine out of a hundred haunted houses had a similar arrangement!

"The overall atmosphere of the haunted house is decent, but that's about it..."

"Exactly, the only thing that might scare people is the ghost face graffiti on the walls."

"It feels like false advertising; the outside scenery is so elaborate, but the most important part is treated like this. I seriously doubt the designer of this haunted house has a brain!"

A group of people chattered in front of the screen.

One of them looked at Ian Smith with a grin.

He was the leader of the second team, a devoted fan of Vampire Castle.

"Ian Smith, is this the world's best haunted house that you said is even better than Vampire Castle?" He laughed, saying, "It doesn't seem like much, does it?"

"If you apologize to me now, I might show you some mercy!"

Ian Smith laughed, "That won't be necessary. I'll apologize when I should, and I won't when I shouldn't."

"I see you won't give up until you're faced with the consequences." The man snorted, wearing a stern face.

He felt confident that he had Ian Smith cornered.

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

To put it bluntly, he had stopped playing haunted houses of this level when he was a kid; they posed absolutely no challenge!

He had no idea where Ian Smith got the confidence to say that such a haunted house was the world's best, even better than Vampire Castle!

  "Look, everyone!"

Just then, a surprised exclamation interrupted his thoughts.

Before he could react and see what was happening on the monitor, he heard a collective gasp.

"What's wrong with him? Why is he suddenly convulsing?"

"It scared the hell out of me; one moment he's a normal person, and the next he's like he's possessed!"

"Look, another one seems to be having problems!"

In front of the monitor, everyone's eyes were wide like saucers, and their mouths were open wide enough to fit an apple.

They watched as the people on the monitor suddenly started shouting and flailing without warning, and the fear on their faces was definitely not fake!

If they didn't know the six people inside the Death Shack, they would have suspected that the haunted house owner hired actors.

  Weird!

  Too weird!

Imagine, one second you're chatting and laughing with your friend, and the next he's convulsing and shouting strange things.

Anyone would feel uneasy in that situation.

Ethan was stunned, saying, "Can someone explain to me what's going on!"

Ian Smith patted Ethan on the shoulder, saying, "Ethan, the weirdness of the Death Shack can't be explained. You can only understand its terror by experiencing it firsthand."

The Vampire Castle enthusiast watched the bizarre footage, his Adam's apple bobbing as he nervously swallowed.

"Don't be nervous," Ian Smith chuckled.

  "Who... who's nervous!" he muttered.

In no time, the six people inside the Death Shack had all descended into a state of frenzy.

  The monitoring room was silent.

Everyone quietly watched the strange transformations happening to the six individuals.

Large question marks seemed to float above their heads!

Could someone tell them what was happening?

Why did the seemingly ordinary Death Shack drive six people crazy one after another?

Could there really be something sinister inside?

Jake Johnson ignored the bewildered crowd, stretched, and got up from his seat.

"Where are you going?" Ethan asked.

"To carry them out!" Jake Johnson waved his hand, saying, "Do you guys want to lend a hand?"

Before he finished speaking, everyone shook their heads like rattles.

Jake Johnson pushed an electric cart into the Death Shack, loaded the six people one by one, and then took them outside.

The moment the six were brought out, a group of people who hadn't entered the monitoring room immediately swarmed around.

Each of them was disheveled, pale, and looked utterly terrified.

"Holy crap, what did they experience in there? Why are they all passed out?"

"These six brothers wouldn't be scared unconscious even in Green Vine Hospital; what happened?"

"The haunted house owner must be playing dirty, arranging people to knock them out inside; otherwise, how could they all be scared unconscious?"

"They were pretending to be haunted house experts, but they're just like us, walking in and being carried out!"

After a while, the six people woke up one after another.

Ethan immediately rushed to the side of the first person to wake up, followed by a crowd of onlookers.

Ethan asked, "What did you see inside the Death Shack? Why were you acting like you were possessed?"

The person who had just woken up smiled wryly, looking at the curious faces, saying, "Can you guys let me rest for a bit? My heart is still pounding!"

Jake Johnson walked over, saying, "Second group, it's your turn. Go in quickly; don't waste time. There are many people waiting in line behind you."

Instantly, everyone's eyes turned to the six people in the second group.

The six looked at each other, unsure of what to do.

With the first six as examples, they certainly wouldn't underestimate the Death Shack.

They were all veterans of the haunted house scene, and their psychological endurance was similar.

If the first group was scared unconscious, they didn't think they could perform any better!

But if they didn't go in...

They had not only bragged to Ian Smith but also to the ordinary tourists in front of the haunted house.

If they pretended nothing was wrong and didn't go in now, they would be drowned in spit.

The six felt immense pressure, trapped in a dilemma.
