CHILDHOOD: CONTINUED
Michael had started his training with the unknown sword and the dagger. At first every hit he did to dummies was reflected and the sword was knocked out of his hands. He soon got the hang of it when he used ‘Instant Analyzation’ to see every hit and the problems. He changed his grip on the blade in order to compensate for lack of strength. A few days of strikes made his hits sound cleaner and his movements more smooth.
Michael told his father about the ‘Sword Mastery’ skill. He decided the ??? skill would be ignored for the time being, since he was afraid that such a weird skill would make his father wonder.
“Good, good. As you can see you will need to constantly train with the sword to increase your skill at it. Also if you slack off for too long you will start to forget the skill. This doesn’t really matter when you hit Expert ranking but at the lower levels it is very easy to forget. For now, just keep training with the sword. Also don’t forget the Dagger. Its the same thing with those."
Michael nodded his understanding and turned back towards the dummies. He started to slash with his left hand, the hand holding the dagger, and found his slashes were relatively clean. It seemed since he didn’t use his right hand for anything complicated he could use both at relatively the same level.
Slashing the dummy a few times, Michael nodded in approval. The ??? skill allowed for all bladed weapons to benefit from the increase in slashes. Even if he didn’t understand how much it increased by, he could see the difference. Time for…
Michael raised the dagger and started to thrust at the dummy. It was harder since different angles of hits and thrusts caused the blade to veer to the sides dealing little damage. Michael used ‘Instant Analyzation’ for a bit to see his problems before turning it off to save energy. Leaving himself weak was a bad way to use the skill.
Michael changed his positions in order to deal a good thrust. He managed to score a few consecutive hits but thought it wasn’t good enough. Michael decided to change his grip on the Dagger. Instead of it pointing up, he made it point down. The slashes from this kind of grip was a little better but he needed a totally new way to pierce the enemy. So Michael jumped and slammed the dagger down through the dummy’s shoulder.
The dummy was pulled down with Michael and his father rushed to help him up. His father was examining what Michael was doing and was amazed at the ingenuity of his child. Without any lessons, his child was able to come up with ways to properly hit. And even with the weighted weapons he was able to lift them with little problems. It usually took 25 strength and higher to lift the weapons. Of course Michael had that and higher due to the title he earned and skill rewards. Meanwhile…
“W-well Michael, you have the ‘Dagger Mastery’ skill now? Good. We can move on to some basic skills I want you to train too. Also we need to give you some breathing techniques and the like. For the next few years you need to figure out the secrets of those weapons of yours as well as train other must haves. When you finally go to school we can start sparring matches.”
And so Michael was taught a variety of skills over the next few months. He learned what he was awful at - Bows and crossbows were accidents waiting to happen - and what he was good at. Projectile throwing was his specialty and by the end…

Michael spent the next few years training with his weapons and learning from his mother. He was always under the watchful eyes of his father. A relatively peaceful time...that won’t be disrupted by bad luck.

“Welcome children to your first class. I am Father Nathan of the Church of Information and I will, under the guidance of Janira teach you about this world and help you on your way in the future. For starters, everyone please open your status screens. These screens can only be seen by you unless you say ‘Show status screen to -’ and then the name of the person. To avoid showing it to every person with the same name as the person you need to focus on that person. Now does everyone have their screens open?”
Michael was now 5 years old. He had left the house only a few times over the years and this is the first time he had seen so many children in one place. He was kind of used to crowds of adults yet this classroom of his peers made him nervous in a different way. He didn’t really want recognition from them but he didn’t want to be spurned either.
Michael was sitting beside Arthur while William and Robert made a pair at the other side of the room to his right. To his immediate left, was Mary and Eliza as a pair. The six of them were at the back row.
Michael whispered “Show status.”
“Now, as you can see all of your body’s limits are displayed in the box in front of you. The numerical values show the limits of your body. You all know how to add and subtract I assume? Good. Simple mathematics allows for you to keep track of yourself without the need to always open this screen. When you reach 10 years of age you will be able to add 50 free stat points to whichever stat you want based on the class you wish to get. Now to look at each individual stat and see what it does, you only need to say ‘show -’ and then name the stat. For instance, saying ‘show strength’ will give a display that says ‘Strength: The maximum power you can display when you exert all of your abilities. The higher the value, the greater the maximum power.’ Now as a child, most of you will be in the low 10s in terms of strength. To wield a regular weapon needs 20 strength and higher. Soldiers need to have 50 strength and higher. For mages it will be the Intelligence and Wisdom stat that is needed to rise. 20 and higher wisdom will allow the usage of skills while Intelligence is needed to increase your total mana and increase the strength and ease of magic spells….
While the Father was continuing his lecture on various classes and the stats needed - Michael was already told all this by his mother - Michael decided to check his few unknown stats.
“Show Concentration, Show Willpower, Show Charisma.”
Michael continued to stare ahead as he whispered the commands.
Michael was kind of conflicted about Charisma. He didn’t really want to show off yet they stat was pretty much as bad as jumping in people’s faces. He decided he needed to lay low for now.
“...agility. With agility the movements of your body will be more smooth and your actions will flow together easily. A must have for quick warriors and rogues. Now, for the next few months we will be analyzing each stat and figuring out ways to improve each. By the end of the year I hope to have most of you with at least 15 in each stat.”
And Michael again entered a bored state. He already reached that minimum early in life...

Michael is NOT OP. Got it? Good. If you think about it, 5 years of training and he only has those stats [th_093.gif]
Well...Michael has now entered the school phase. And he is bored as heck. Next chapter will focus on getting more skills for him. What class would people like him to aim for? Or get accidentally. He will be rather unique when he reaches 10 years of age.
AND INTRODUCING A PET WHEN HE REACHES 10 YEARS OLD. WHAT WOULD YOU GUYS LIKE? Nothing big like a dragon or some mythical creature please...too early to make an Eragon MC.
