There was suddenly an extremely large flash of light, and I went blind for a moment. Then the sounds and the temperature changed, along with some strange smells. I slowly regained my sight and saw that I was standing in a large cavern filled with several stalagmites, stalactites, and some bones which made it look like an old monsters' cave.

  I saw a small light a little bit away and made my way towards it. As I passed a pile of bones, I saw something under them. I moved them around a bit and saw a rather large bag, which looked mostly empty. Beside it was a longsword covered in rust that was chipped and cracked all along its length. I picked up the bag first and looked inside. Within it was a book written in a weird language, a gauntlet that was as old and rusted as the sword and seemed to have a small sized jewel embedded in it. There was also a small bag with 10 gold 40 silver and 100 copper coins. I picked it all up, except for the bag, and continued towards the cave exit. I tripped and stumbled on the stones and rocks along the way.

  I had thought the exit was still quite some distance away, so I was quite surprised when I reached the exit quickly. As I stepped through, I saw an amazing sight. I was standing on a ledge, looking at a city perched on the side of a mountain next to the sea.

  As I stood there admiring the view I remembered I still had not checked my stats, or any of of my messages.

  "cool man am i strong but no more slaking off lets get down to that city"

  i started to run towards the city i picked up a stick along the way to be safe. as i passed through the forest i saw many large track and really ancient trees as passed under them i wondered if there was a special quest involving the forest but that is for another time

  as i ran i finally saw the city gates they were huge they had an owl with a scroll held in its claws inscribed on them

  as i approached i saw 2 gate guards immediately stand at attention in surprise as i came nearer the one on the left called out "Halt who are and what is your business in Nomin!"

  i replied" i am Meir i am here in order to gain knowledge and skill in the martial and magic arts along with a learning in the history of this continent"

  hm guard looked thoughtful for second and said"very well you may enter"

  "may i ask where the library and the training hall is?"

  "unlike most cities our library is there that large castle in the middle of the city the training hall is over there next to the gate leading into the castle" replied the Guard

  "thank you Sir have a good evening" i said as i ran pass them into the city before i continued on i stopped at the black smiths and bought a Good bow and Longsword i asked the blacksmith about the sword and gauntlet i recovered from the cave but he said he did not have the skill to repair or even tell me what they where but he said a master smith might be able to but he was the only smith in the city after his master passed away a week ago i continued onwards until i passed a carpenters where i bought a walking stick and string then i walked to the library where i spoke with the head librarian

  "yes yes what do you want" he spoke as he waved his right hand and wrote down reports with his left

  "sir i want to make a bet with you" i said

  he looked up and stared at me and asked "what kind of bet?"

  "i bet you that i can read every book in the magic martial and history portions of your library in under a month. if i lose you get 100 gold if i win i get access to the restricted section and any 3 rare skill books you have" i told him

  he thought about it " why not kid i will even give you free access to the library and instead of 100 gold i get 200 gold if you lose" he said

  "Deal" i replied and we shook on it then i went and got started
