Arc 1- Chapter 4: Lost in the flowers(proofread)

  proofread by Daylius

When the door opened, I walked not even hesitating, not even thinking, I walked with my eyes set on the path ahead. When the door opened my feet moved, and I walked beyond the new door which had just opened. The door lead me to another tunnel, which was short and I could see light on the opposite end. And so I walked till I was at the exit. When I was almost at the exit, my gardisto watch began to vibrate causing me to panic for a moment. It took my weak mind a bit time to calm down. I looked at the watch closely, the vibration was still going on and this time the center of the watch was emitting a red light. My left hand moved towards the red light and then the light began to shine brightly. And then something that shook my entire body happened. The freaking watch began to emit a blue light and a table appeared in front of my eyes.

I was stunned. In front of my eyes was a table which showed me various details about me, measured and described in numerical values. I was re-reading the table and suddenly it was replaced by a new one.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“Ho! Something is not right. The description does not explain the carvings on the door. If saving the world was the objective then why show a carving which showed a golden person standing on top of the rest. and powerless spirits is a load bullshit, and the thing about being truly free seems suspicious. Something is not right, I need more info.” My mind was not convinced with the explanation given to me. If the explanation was true, then why was there a need for a table which showed me my status? I walked towards the exit, thinking about the explanation I was given. As I reached the exit bright light blinded my eyes that had been in the dark for a while. My hands involuntarily covered my eyes to protect it from the light. As time passed, my eyes adjusted to the light and I could see what was in front of me.

Stretching throughout the horizon of the land were various kinds of flowers, yellow, blue, red, black, white and other colors, a valley of flowers. The exit was the same as the huge black door that was in my home town. The moment I got out, the door had disappeared indicating that I cannot go back the way I came. But still I did not despair for my desire was not to return home but to remain here in this new place till I found what I had lost. I walked forward, not wavering, I walked and walked endlessly. The food in my bag and the suit I was wearing helped me walk a long distance. Night fell and all I could see were the same flowers.

The next day too was the same, I walked endlessly till night stopping here and there once in a while. The third day, my spirit began to break. Seeing only flowers around me was making me panic. I often thought of stopping the pointless travel, but staying in middle of the flowers made me move forward. And so almost a week passed, I still had food for another week or so, but my water source was about to dry out. That day, my eyes were greeted by a change in the scenery.

“Buildings, buildings” I shouted out loud. Near the ever stretching horizon ahead of me were building. Jumping with joy, I ran toward the buildings with my new found vigor. Even after running at my full speed, it took me another two days to reach the place. When I was near to the place, I was dumbfounded. Unlike the villages and towns in the games, what was in front of me was a city with tall buildings, just like the modern day cities of our world. Surrounded by huge walls made of some metal, the city was as big as Tokyo or so I thought.

Excited with the view I ran towards it. In another hour or so, I was in front of the gate which too like the wall was made of metal. For once I thought I was back in my own world.

  “Hello” I screamed out loud.

“Who goes there” came a voice from above.

Even though I was expecting a reply, the sudden voice freaked me out. When I calmed down I replied.

“My name is Zeph, can you let me pass? I was just summoned here”

“An alien? Show me the proof?”

“Proof? Ah” I lifted my right hand so that whoever was talking could see the watch on my hand. But there was no reply from the person. Instead, the huge gate began to separate. I walked in slowly, looking around. Once I was inside, the gate closed and I heard the voice again.

“Welcome to Ironforge, the city of metals. Please take the wallet in the container to your left and drop a little blood on the bag to form a contract with it.”

I was surprised with the sudden request but nevertheless complied with it. I took the wallet from the container which had a needle too in it. I pricked my hand with it and then dropped my blood on it as asked. The wallet absorbed it and then my watch vibrated once again. Another table appeared before my eyes.

“What the” I shouted out surprised. The amount of money was large. As a gamer I could tell that the amount of money was indeed high. I placed the wallet in my pocket and then asked who ever that was talking to me,

“How can I undergo an affinity test?”

“Affinity test? All you have to do is apply for the test at the Alien Welfare Office. Walk straight from here till you reach a white building. The Alien Office will be the third building to your right. Show them your gardisto and you will be allowed to enter”

  “Thank you, whoever you are”

“Welcome” the voice replied. Content with the new info, I walked straight in search of the alien office, with burning vigor.
