Chapter Eight: Beaten

  After school, Lin Ke Yi packed up her bag as usual and walked out of the classroom.

  Not far from leaving the teaching building, my hair was suddenly pulled and I was dragged to a nearby shaded area.

  Lin Ke Yi's mind went blank in an instant, and all she felt was a burning pain on her scalp before she fell to the ground with a thud.

  "Pei Lin, how are we going to teach her a lesson?" The person who pushed her down from behind asked the one standing in front.

  Lin Ke Yi stood up and lifted her head, only to see her classmate Pei Lin standing a few steps in front of her, wearing a white shirt with a red plaid skirt.

  "What are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen a lady like me?" Pei Lin walked over and slapped Lin Ke Yi's face hard.

  Lin Ke Yi was beaten so badly that her entire face was twisted to one side, with a bright red palm print clearly visible on her cheek.

  "What's wrong with you? You hit me!" Lin Ke Yi covered her face, staring at Pei Lin in disbelief.

  "Did you guys hear that? She's asking me how to hit her!" Pei Lin said with a bright smile to the several girls around her.

  "It's none of your business if I want to hit you!" Just then, someone behind her suddenly pushed Lin Ke'er down again without warning.

  Lin Ke Yi only felt that her knee was suddenly burning with pain, just now she fell on the lawn and didn't feel anything, but now she directly fell onto the red brick pavement of the school path and scraped off a layer of skin.

  "Do you think getting high scores can change your fate?" Another kick came from beside.

  "You'll be daring next time!" She stood up shaking and was punched again.

  "Damn it, next time if you dare to get ahead of me again, you're dead!"

  Lin Ke Yi didn't know how many punches she had taken, how many kicks, or how many times she had fallen to the ground.

  She bit her teeth and stood up every time, and stopped herself from turning back.

  She still remembers when she was in first grade, fighting with her deskmate and eventually getting expelled from school, the scene of her mother hugging her and crying.

  So she had no choice but to endure, watching every person who bullied her and remembering it deeply in her heart.

  "You're still quite stubborn, aren't you?" Pei Lin said, and gave her a strong push.

  Lin Ke Yi fell directly to the ground and lay there for a while without moving, not because she had fainted, but because she suddenly couldn't catch her breath.

  Originally just wanted to teach Lin Ke Yi's few rich girls a lesson, didn't expect such a big commotion, suddenly everyone panicked.

  "Ah, has she fainted?"

  "Will someone die?"

  "Let's go!"

  "What's the big deal, it's just fainting, right? How useless! Even if you die, it's not like I'm responsible for your carelessness. Let's go!" Pei Lin said disdainfully, then clapped her hands and headed towards the school path.
