Prologue: The death of the great dragon

In a large mountain range which was avoided by both humans and monsters a large and powerful dragon lived in seclusion. Its grey body that resembled a rock, as it was laying on the ground had a rough and strong feel to it. Opening its golden eyes they had the feeling of ancient wisdom, but also sadness and loneliness no human could ever understand. It raised its majestic head as it looked up to the dark and cloudy sky while feeling sad, extremely sad.

"Why do I feel like this" he thought, "I am the strongest no one in this world is my match yet I feel so empty?"

These were his thoughts for the last thousand or so years.

He wasn't always like this though he too used to go slaughtering for months somerimes years at a time when people, monsters or demons annoyed him. But that was tens of thousands years ago.

"Being immortal what good is it to me who has lost his will to live?" The dragon once again sighed, "Maybe it's time?"

He wanted to remember the time when life wasn't so grey.
