Alice shook my hand and we both smiled at each other.

  "I hope the two of us can protect this treasury." she said in a cheerful tone.

  "Me too." I replied.

  I paused for a second before opening my mouth again.

  "But I kind of understand where they're coming from. Working hard for 6 years only to be prevented from achieving your dream. I feel bad for them."

  Alice looked at me with a blank expression.

  "I feel the same way." she said.

  Adam then raised his voice and spoke to everyone

  "We will implement our shifts at this moment. It's almost 10 PM so Jonathan and Julia will take stay here and once their shift ends one of them will go and wake me up and once I come here then both of them can go home. This assures that the treasury is guarded at all times." he explained succinctly.

  "What about when your shift ends? You are the only one guarding the treasury during your shift." I pointed out.

  "That is not an issue. My shift ends at 2 PM which is the time when the students are the busiest since the martial art class starts at that time. If i student isn't there it will be noticed and unless they have an alibi it will be easy to identify them as the students wanting to break into the treasury." he explained.

  Seeing that nobody had anything to add he concluded his speech and left along with me and Alice while Jonathan and Julia stayed behind.

  The three of us went to our rooms on our own. I laid on top of my bed and closed my eyes which made my slowly drift into sleep.

  I could faintly hear sounds around me. These sounds became louder and clearer as I slowly woke up. My vision adjusted as I quickly opened my eyes. The sounds I heard were now clear and i could hear what they were.

  They were screams.

  Once I realized this I quickly got up from my bed before rushing towards the door of my room.

  As I opened it I saw students running down the hallway. It wasn't just one or two of them. There were a dozen if not a hundred students running down the hallway. They were running in a panic and there faces showed immense fear.

  I grabbed the arm of one of the students and pulled him close to me before talking to him in a raised voice so he could hear me clearly within all this commotion.

  "What's going on?"

  "A-Adam killed somebody and took all the earth spirits from the treasury." the student panicked but still managed to explain the situation

  "What? Adam killed somebody? He also stole from the treasury." I though inwardly. Unable to comprehend the situation clearly.

  I let go of the student's arm and ran towards opposite of the direction the students were running. I ran full speed towards the treasury.

  "Will are you there." I asked my spirit through my mind.

  "I am here." Will replied.

  "Get ready. We're going to fight and kill Adam." I explained.

  "I am already prepared." Will said

  As i rushed towards my destination the number of students in my way decreased which allowed me to go faster without any obstacles in the way.

  I finally arrived and burst through the door of the treasury.

  I saw Jonathan on the ground bleeding. Due to the amount of blood I knew he was dead.

  I rushed past his corpse and made my way deeper into the treasury until I heard sounds of battle coming from the area of the treasury where all the boxes containing elemental spirits were kept.

  As i turned a corner the scene of battle revealed itself to me.

  I saw a cultivator dead on the ground with another one up against the wall with a bleeding arm but he was still alive. There were two cultivators fighting a few meters away from him. I immediately identified them. They were Adam and Alice. It could be seen that both of them were struggling.

  I jumped 3 meters high into the air and formed a sphere of wind about the size of a human head which I sent flying towards Adam. He noticed my attack and raised his right arm in front of his head. The skin of the arm took on a rocky texture and when the sphere hit it there wasn't a lot of damage apart from a few cracks.

  But the ball of wind caused some knockback which forced Adam's left kneel to buckle trying to resist it. He fell on one knee and supported himself purely on his right leg. Alice took this opportunity and put her two open palms together before pointing turning her wrists at such an angle that the top of her fingers were pointing at Adam.

  A stream if pressurized water shoot out from in between her palms. This stream hit Adam right in his chest which sent him flying backwards.

  I was still in the air while this happened so I expelled a short burst of air from my right palm to redirect myself towards Adam. As I fell I formed a fist in my right arm and was about to hit Adam who had just recovered from the stream that Alice shoot out. Adam barely managed to raise both his hands into a guard to protect his head from my fist.

  As my fist collided with his arms I felt immense pain running up my arm.

  "This shouldn't be the durability of a tier 1. Did he absorb some Earth spirits? That would explain how he managed to kill a cultivator and is still fighting with another tier 1 cultivator. This means he must be a Tier 2 cultivator." I concluded in my mind.

  The truth finally revealed itself. After Julia and Jonathan finished their shift Julia went to wake Adam up but once she was in his room he killed her with a sneak attack. He then went to the treasury alone where he killed the unsuspecting Jonathan. Then he went inside the treasury to absorb Earth spirit in order to become stronger. What happened after that is unclear but what matters is that Adam was our enemy. He had to be eliminated.
