"Goodbye", said my father, as he so often had before. A distant man at this point, off to feed his only living son. I heard the sound of his horses feet slowly fading as he went off into the lands beyond. I sent a salute to him that I know he could not see and he was now entirely swallowed by the outside world.
This began another day of my hard labor and chores. A reptitive one at that to the point where any little change would feel like if my father had suddenly turned into one of those pesky goblins from the hills. It all started with me milking the cows for my food salesman father.
"Hey there Steak" I said as i walked through the door to our small barn. Steak was our only cow at this point, the many others we had to sell to "a better place" as mother would say if she was still here. I began milking steak, a tedious job it seemed as she was almost always pacing around her small barn pin. Once i had collected a good amount of milk, i was now taked with putting it all into jars. The fancy child i had mmet in the woods had a big machine for his process, but i was a pour boy in all regards and had to do it by hand, a very teedious and frusturating job.

My next task was collecting water from the local pond. I took fathers large metal bucket and continued on to the small swampy pond. I was always scared of the pond. Townsfolk from my old home said it was the acient home of the great "Swam". A merman beast who had a club as big as the hills.
It was probably just a story, but its no wonder so many kids believed it. The pool was incredibly deep, and nobody had ever reached the bottom, alwas lost their breath.
I collected the water and brought it to my dads old sitting chair. Dad always knew so much about water and what to do with it. He collected fish with it, he boiled goblin in it, he mad a colorful paste with it he called "Purplemaker" as it was a purple color, but all the townsfolk, at least in Snowien, called it Paint.
My next chore was cleaning the house. I began heading towards the house, which was actually a large hollowed out tree when i noticed something peculiar.
