“I don’t know what to tell you but a random bowl of soup appeared in the middle of the room when I was dozing off for a bit and I ate it.” was all Vegis had to say when they began to question the soup's existence. “There are no records of anyone entering or leaving the room and we knocked you out by flooding the room over time with an anesthetic gas. All studies and reports have nothing to do with hallucinogenic properties.” was what the guard in the right corner said. Vegis just shrugged at this looking at the Elder and speaking. “I don’t really care for the bowl and I know that you probably don’t either. So can you be direct and ask what you want with me?” The Elder sat still for a couple of seconds before responding with a sigh and reaching out a hand. Vegis was confused at this but complied and tried lifting his handcuffed arms to be as close to the Elder’s hands as possible. The Elder grabbed his left and squeezed. Vegis was thrown in a world of pain as his real body seized in the chair, the Elder dug into Vegis mind and soul to see Vegis’s side of things, but certain parts of the memories didn’t seem to fit with each other and the Elders mind reading couldn’t see into the moments. This did not stop them from getting a relatively good understanding of what Vegis saw on his side during the incident.

When the Elder let go, Vegis slumped in his chair, feeling disgusted in a way that he couldn’t properly articulate. It wasn’t just the invasion into his mind and reading his memories, but a deeper sense of rage at both himself and at the Elder. The closest thing that he could approximate it to would be if an ant somehow managed to shove him into a sea of filth and spat on his face. This act of defiance against him by a being Vegis’s subconscious has considered an inferior being had thrown Vegis into a rage as space started to distort and his body started to build a large amount of mana. Dawn could manage to sense this disturbance from where he was contained but couldn't tell why it was happening. Each of the guards pulled out a syringe from their coats and stabbed Vegis with them. This managed to calm him down which gave them enough time to evacuate the Elder and gas the room when they left. During this force slumber, all he could feel was rage and humiliation. He didn’t know why, but Vegis’s existence felt as though the Elder was but a pest underneath his shoes and as he slowly passed through his memories, he slowly saw all others as lower than him. The only things he saw as of equal status to him were Boreal and Mitra. His rage and boiling mana woke him up back in the room. The metal was back into the wall and all he could see was the metal of the walls and the white of the ceiling and floors.

Boreal and Mitra were having a much better time than Vegis. It has been 2 months since the incident and they have been doing essentially nothing but lounging around. But this was a gilded cage for them as they could not access the outside world and could not have hobbies. The only things the two of them could do was walk around the Elder’s facility or watch things on the web. Boreal was technically allowed to mess with the plants but this was only allowed in a specific room for an hour a day. After a week, the plants would be incinerated with the only exception being the ancient fungus ball the Elder gifted Boreal. Mitra wasn’t allowed to fly at all since they moved into the facility but she was still allowed to float around before Vegis wiped out the labs. Sometimes, when she moves a little too fast, she gets immediately shot with nets to keep her from even attempting to run away.
