CHAPTER 19 : “THE WHISPERING GALAXY”

The ship moved quietly through a violet nebula.

No one spoke much after the fight.

Raelux’s scream still echoed in their heads — not the anger… but the fear. Something had dragged him away like a puppet on invisible chains.

And whatever it was… it knew Lassie now.

Inside the observation deck, Auren stood alone watching the nebula clouds swirl like living storms.

  Behind him, soft footsteps.

  Lassie.

She looked weaker but steadier now, wrapped in a blanket Queen had found in storage. The glowing runes that once burned across her skin were fading… but something else had replaced them.

Tiny lights flickered beneath her skin — like distant stars.

  Auren noticed.

  “You’re different,” he said quietly.

  Lassie nodded.

  “I can feel things now.”

  “What things?”

  She hesitated.

  “…everything.”

She stepped beside him and pointed out into space.

“There’s a war starting three systems away. I can feel the ships moving. Someone just died on a mining colony on the edge of this nebula. And somewhere far beyond this galaxy… something is waking up.”

  Auren turned slowly.

  “That shouldn’t be possible.”

  Lassie whispered:

“I don’t think the runes were power… I think they were training wheels.”

Far away — beyond star clusters and broken empires — a massive structure floated in deep space.

  A Cathedral of Chains.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Billions of black chains stretched from its surface into the void, each one vibrating with trapped energy.

At its center sat a throne.

  And on that throne…

A figure watched the stars through a window the size of a planet.

Raelux hung suspended before them, bound by the same chains that dragged him from the battlefield.

His armor had shattered. His breathing was ragged.

  The figure leaned forward slightly.

  “Subject R-X… defective unit.”

  Raelux spat blood.

  “Say my name.”

  The figure tilted its head.

  “Your name is irrelevant.”

  Raelux grinned through broken teeth.

“You’re scared of him, aren’t you?”

  The room darkened.

The figure raised a hand — a chain tightened around Raelux’s throat.

“I fear no anomaly,” the being said calmly.

  Raelux laughed anyway.

“You built me to kill him… and I couldn’t.”

  Silence.

  Then the figure spoke again.

“And yet… he didn’t kill you.”

  Raelux’s grin widened.

  “That’s the problem.”

  The figure stood.

Their form shifted slightly — not entirely solid, not entirely light.

  A Maker.

One of the architects of reality.

They turned toward the galaxy Auren occupied.

“For the first time in ten thousand cycles,” the Maker said softly,

“the Erased One has chosen mercy.”

The chains around Raelux loosened slightly.

  “And mercy… spreads.”

  Queen burst into the bridge.

“You guys need to see this!”

Everyone gathered around the central console.

The screen filled with transmissions — hundreds of them — pouring in from across different star systems.

  Clips. Rumors. Recordings.

One showed the destroyed warship drifting in pieces.

Another showed drones shutting down mid-battle.

Another showed Auren floating in space during the fight with Raelux.

  Auren frowned.

  “What is this?”

  Queen grinned.

  “News.”

  Mira leaned closer.

“Someone recorded the fight… and it’s spreading.”

Across the screen, a message repeated across multiple languages:

  “THE ERASED ONE HAS RETURNED.”

  Another message:

  “A MAN WHO STOPPED TIME.”

  Another:

  “THE BROKEN GOD.”

  Auren looked uncomfortable.

  “I didn’t ask for this.”

  Zero shrugged.

  “Legends never do.”

Lassie stood quietly at the back of the room.

  Listening.

  Not to the crew.

  To something else.

  Her eyes widened.

  “Auren…” she whispered.

  He turned.

  “What is it?”

  Her voice trembled.

  “There’s something coming.”

  Queen checked sensors.

  “…I don’t see anything.”

  Lassie shook her head slowly.

“That’s because it’s not here yet.”

  She looked out the window.

And for the first time since she awakened…

  She looked truly afraid.

  “The Makers just started moving.”

  Auren stepped beside her.

  “Then we move faster.”

  The crew exchanged glances.

Because they all knew what that meant.

This was no longer just survival.

  The moment Raelux appeared…

The moment the universe saw Auren fight…

The moment Lassie touched the runes…

  Something ancient had begun again.

Auren looked at the stars and spoke quietly.

  “Let them come.”

For the first time since the story began…

  He wasn’t running.

  He was waiting.

  And across the universe…

  The whisper spread.

  The Erased One lives.
