Gamerworlds Prologue

  GamerWorlds Prologue

Conceptualized By Kage Abatman; Drawn and Written By Masaru Abatman

Helix opens his laptop and plays his video games. “I am an idiot, and this is a story of how I became the Multiverse’s greatest space warrior. How I discovered that there are more to video games than I thought. When I was a child… I play games all the time. Yes. All the time, yes.” Helix masterfully and elegantly grinds for Goldies as he brutalizes the goblins of Mushroms vs. Goblins. The Battle was EPIC, like his fingers just danced around the beats and rhythm of the game. “God, I’m so good at this game or whatever that I’m narrating it out loud.” He said, narrating it out loud.

Helix began playing the Racing Rat game. “It all started with my favorite game of all time, a platformer made by a masturbating psycho in a basement, true story. Racing Rat. Racing Rat is a platformer, an ingenious one as well, yes. The fastest rat in the Multiverse battles against the space dictatorship of Ludwig and his evil master, the Director. It was such a fuck on. But then, I realized the character wasn’t moving for a moment.”

“Hey! Helix! I know you’re playing this ripoff game butcan you help us?”

“Holy shit. Mom! The game’s talking again!” yelled Helix, yelling for his mother.

“TAKE YOUR PILLS, HONEY!!!” she screeched in a horrid cackle.

Helix nods and swallows his mystery pills. “Ah… Sanity. Tastes so good in my Goddamned belly.”

So, Helix sighed, typing into his story. “You know, I have a brother? Mother doesn’t talk about him much, but my brother was an Aswang. He was my half-brother through my Dad. My mother, meanwhile. was a regular Human who fell for my Dad. I didn’t inherit the Aswang blood, sadly, since my Dad had weak genes. Instead, I can regenerate, which I got from some white stuff my Mom had in the basement. Kidding! My uncle experimented on me, more on that later.“

Helix takes his finger out of his body, and puts it back on like nothing happened.

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

  Later…

Helix battles against several monsters in his tower defense game, Warpussies. “It is almost so weird that the thing you want most and you are separated by something as thin as a computer screen.

After a while, my Mom died. Dad didn’t come to visit. Why would he?”

Helix tears up standing over his father’s grave.

“I was eventually adopted by my mom’s brother, my Uncle. He was an eccentric fellow. He looke a lot like the guy from the video game. Even shared the same name, Doctor Ludwig Van Peter. He claims to say that the games I play are based on he, himself. Weird, I know. At night, he yelled at me. Took out a belt and did what he had to do. I could heal, so I didn’t break easily, making him so much angrier.”

  Much later…

Helix, now armed with a blaster, shot at several people who screamed in horror. “I became a soldier. He trained me since I was a child to become the greatest and most dangerous soldier ever. Eventually, I killed so many people. Innocents, political rivals of the United States, journalists… I was a black operative working for the highest of the high, my own Grandpa. His name was, as they call, Ido Van Peter. He looked A LOT like the bad guy in the games, in Racing Rat, called the Xterminator. He was fat, ugly, bald, and had the exact same beard as he did in the games. I was really weird. They said I had a learning disability…. Have.. learning disability… due to my Autistic Spectrum Disorder.”

Some people pushed Helix to the floor. Bullies mostly, who mocked how he played games.

They gestured and pretended to type in the air, while mockingly saying, “Ugh, ugh, ugh!” while bobbing their head in a mocking was. They jabbed him on the soldier.

“They call me an Infected. A dangerous individual since I have healing powers. Tell me how that makes sense…” Helix successfully murders an entire tribe of innocent men, women, and children. “I was the perfect weapon… and I hated it. What I wanted wasn’t this… I remembered the heroes of my childhood. Just like Ultra Angelo, a platformer game about a Mexican man jumping around platforms to save the Princess from the evil Orc King, Growl. Sounds racist. I know, but it’s only the most iconic game of the Anjurodo Video Game series. Best video game, especially the ones where you get to get the star. Alas, I am just a guy who played these silly kid’s games… But they are so much more…” Helix smiles, playing a game in his tent. “They are stories… Training modules… Attention seekers yearning for someone to listen to their poems. And thus, I am here… My name is Helix Van Peter, and this is my story.

Then, there was the job. I was tasked of finding and kiling an alien after achieving the highest rank of any black operative.”
