Season 1 – Chapter 2: First Battles

  Akira stood up and carefully observed the world around him. He wasn’t sure whether he was still dreaming or truly alive, but the feeling of the wind on his skin and the scent of grass were irresistibly real. The world was different from anything he had ever seen. The sky had a deep blue shade streaked with shimmering clouds, and in the distance stretched vast fields and dense forests, while luminous creatures resembling birds made of crystal flew above him, creating a gentle music with their wings in rhythm with the wind.

  As he tried to orient himself, the rustling of leaves caught his attention. He moved slowly, holding his hands in front of him, unsure of what he might encounter. In the distance, between the trees, he spotted something that made a cold sweat run down his spine—a monster shaped like a human, but with skin covered in scales and eyes glowing red. Its body was unnaturally long and slender, and its arms ended in claws that gleamed under the light of the setting sun.

  Instinct warned him, but his mind was confused; everything he had known about life so far had no practical value in this world. The monster noticed his presence and slowly began moving toward him, letting out a low, feverish sound that resembled a mixture of barking and buzzing. Akira stood motionless for a few seconds, and then his body reacted instinctively.

  Memories of martial arts from his previous life suddenly surged to the surface. Without thinking, he stepped back, swung his arms, and glanced around, searching for anything he could use. At that moment, he felt a strange surge of energy flowing through him—unexpected, almost instinctive. His hands sparkled with light, and the monster paused, watching him suspiciously.

  And then something happened that changed everything. Akira instinctively thought about the monster: “How do I escape?” and, unexpectedly, he felt his power activate—he copied part of the monster’s ability, and his legs suddenly became fast, almost weightless as he ran toward cover between the old trees. His heart was beating fast, but this time there was no fear; there was excitement, a sense that he finally had a chance to survive in this world.

  The monster chased after him, but as he ran, Akira focused his thoughts. He felt his brain sending him information, understanding his opponent’s movements before they happened. He tried to read its thoughts, even though he wasn’t sure it was possible, and suddenly he heard fragments: “Small… weak… must catch him…”. His heart leaped; this was something he had never felt before—the ability to see the inner world of another being.

  Taking advantage of it, he turned sharply and struck the monster in the stomach, using its own weight against it while copying part of its strength. The sound of the impact echoed through the forest, and the monster growled and retreated. Akira stood there for a few moments, trembling, but with a wide smile on his face; he had just discovered that he possessed a power that made him capable of surviving.

  As he observed the forest around him, he realized he was not alone. Somewhere behind the trees, the eyes of a small animal resembling a fox reflected the fading light, its fur shimmering in the twilight. Its curiosity was obvious. He felt that this world had many more creatures waiting for him, and each encounter could be an opportunity or a danger.

  His mind began to focus on something else—thoughts of his past life, of the girl who had left him, of the pain that had brought him here. But now, in this moment, he felt strength and control over himself, and as he breathed deeply the scent of earth and grass, he realized that this adventure was only just beginning and that every battle could make him stronger—not only physically, but emotionally as well, because every obstacle was a lesson he needed to learn.

  The world around him expanded, and he felt excitement, fear, and hope at the same time. This was his new life, and the first battles were only the beginning of a path that would lead him through dangers, friendships, and the first emotional bonds that would forever change his destiny.
