"If I call you'd know, well, the twins will know! Make sure they give the phone to you when I do, hm? " Jae Joon smirked placing his hand on the small child infront of him but then, he paused suddenly.
He looked Do Yun in the eyes. "Why you look like that," he asked wiping the child's tears.
"Why must you leave Hyung?" His voice was quiet. Almost desperate, despite only being of young age he knew what was happening was serious.
That perhaps it'd be the last time they saw eachother.
"Big bro has some business to handle with Mum and Dad. I won't be gone for long..."
"In E... Engand?" Jae Joon smiled. A light laugh exiting his lips.
"? (yes) Engand..." His face scrunched up with sadness but Jae Joon continued to smile. Do Yun's miss pronunciations caused his departure to ache more. He knew it'd be a while until they met again.
Crouching down to the 7 year olds height Jae Joon brought out a small palm sized teddy bear that seemed the size of Do Yuns chest.
"Keep it." He smiled placing the soft teddy on the boys small hand.
"Isn't this your favourite...? ???? (grandad) gave it to you..."
"And I'll pass it on to you kid. So you can..." Jae Joon paused at the sudden lump of tears in his throat. "So you can remember me,"
"Hyung?" Looking at his older brother he smiled. "Don't be long! I want to go to the arcade with you again."
Jae Joon nodded. "I'll be back before you know it!"
———————
He didn't come back. Well not before Do Yun knew it... it had been 9 years now.
Unheard...
No call as anticipated until this night.
Do Yun stumbled back.
His hand shook as he frantically reached back in his jean pocket for his phone.
"Jae joon... did you call me?" He muttered desperately searching the call log.
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
Recents: None.
Do Yun froze for a moment. His eyes widening. His jaw clenched.
"I heard a voice though... something was there..."
As a 16 year old, he couldn't understand.
Adults around him confirmed his age caused him to misunderstand the simple.
But this wasn’t simple.
The phone rang...
He was certain of that.
Somebody spoke to him. Maybe it wasn't his brother but Somebody did. He heard their voice. He couldn't have just imagined it all.
Right?
Do yun stood still. His heart raced.
"I swear somebody called me..." He repeated closing his eyes in disbelief.
Then... a sudden ringing lifted to his ears.
Do yun quickly covered his ears with his hands. As he turned around.
A shadow in the distance suddenly appeared.
He stumbled backwards watching in horror as the dark distill figure approached.
"W-what t-the... Hell!" Do yun murmured his ears closed tight with his palms as the ringing only intensified.
"Who the hell are you!"
The world grew slow. As if time had stopped.
Do Yun's hands slipped from his ears as he quickly squinted his eyes for confirmation. The silhouette neared closer. And closer. And closer.
Who were they?
And why were they after him?
"Do yun..."

Present
"?! (Hey) Do yun!" I quickly fell out of my distraught phase. My eyes lifted at the figure in front of me.
"Yes sir!" I hurried to my feet bowing at a 90 degrees angle in both respect and apologies. "What is it?"
A sharp smack hit my cheek. I froze in my place as a burning sensation filled my skin. Raising my head I looked at Mr Kim in annoyance. "What the hell was that for!"
"What is this I am hearing? One of my workers under investigation?" Scoffing I rubbed my cheek bitterly.
"I put in a statement for my brothers okay? I needed to prove they weren't just 'accidentally' killed..."
"Since when do they use lie detectors in damn statements!" Mr Kim spat out.
"Apparently now okay... Kim Soo just hates me or something..." with a sharp laugh my boss pulled me close to him.
"That's my son you're talking about so watch your words!"
"Ahh... that's how you found out so quickly. What's the biggy anyway? Im just stating truth?"
"You put my son in hospital idiot!" My smile slowly faded as my eyebrow raised. "I did what?"
"You put him in hospital! A broken nose! Dont you remember?" Mr Kim's voice only seemed to grow louder. Shaking my head I looked away.
"I didn't..."
Time seemed to slow once more as I investigated my Boss' expression. My face softened and I forced myself to speak once more.
"I'm sorry... Please bring my apologies to him," I bowed.
My head began to ache. Struggling to remember the facts of which it just heard.
I put Kim Soo into hospital?
Right... My psychologist told me off about that...
Whats wrong with me... I keep forgetting?
With a sharp glare Mr Kim brought out 3 reports. "You needed this right?" He muttered changing the subject.
Thankfully...
Quickly, I scanned through the following reports snatching them out of his grasp.
"Accident by train... Accident by train and Accident by car..." I read aloud. "Perfect."
Taking a seat at my desk Mr Kim pinched a frame from off the table and viewed the figures present in the image.
"Your brothers, right?" He asked.
"Mhm..."
"Those reports are they about your brothers?"
"Yup..." I muttered flicking through the pages thoroughly.
"Why though..." Mr Kim placed the frame back on the table, looking back up at me. "The papers clearly state they are by accident."
"I dont belive them," he looked at me with skepticism.
"What do you mean, theres proof,"
"Like father like son, hey?" I joked.
"Hey! Don't bring Kim Soo back into this conversation unless you really want a beating!" I laughed looking back at him.
"I mean aren't detectives meant to view more into the case? Besides Jae Joon was only found dead like a couple weeks ago. There's not enough evidence."
Caught off guard Mr Kim nodded in agreement. "I guess but Hyun Yun Ho and Hyun Yi jun... that was 8 years ago. They're well lost in the morgue. Right they're even in graves now-!"
"I never said I needed to see their bodies," I interrupted. "I just need to prove it wasn't by accident."
"But how..."
"I saw the crash happen," Mr Kim looked at me in horror his eyes widening as he quickly stood.
"You what?"
"I saw it happen-
"Then why haven't you been a witness!" He yelled glaring at me. "What's the point coming out after 8 damn years!"
"Chill buddy... in most honesty... after Jae Joon died I actually only just remembered being there. I always knew it couldn't have been just by accident but now I remember I saw it happened too."
Placing the reports down I looked back at my boss.
He looked faint. Confused.
"What?" I asked. "You good?"
"That's not normal... your brain doesn't do that unless...
