Patrick woke to soft pale light and clean, stale air that belonged to flying. This wasn’t his room and with a resigned grunt he rolled to his side to get his bearings. The room was small, just big enough to fit the bed, an end table, and two doors. Everything had an uncanny valley feel; there was light, but no light sources; the walls were smooth and plain, yet somehow amorphous. Seeing no clues he rolled back and worked on assembling his thoughts.
Last thing I remember is walking out to the parking lot, watching those crazy videos. A new hoax was practically melting the internet, grinding news and social media sites to a crawl. People from all over were uploading videos of a shadow shaped dragon in the sky, about three times the size of a full moon – or was that some weird dream. No, I definitely was watching those videos.
Pat drifted between sleep and awake for five more minutes.

Patrick puzzled over the note for a bit finally concluding,
Well, I can’t really make heads-nor-tails of what’s happening, but someone went to a lot of effort to bring me here. *heh* I’m at least curious how much pay is beyond my imagining.
Standing up Patrick folded the note into his pocket and opened the green door.
