Why Do Things Never Stay Good For Long?

I-I really should pull away now. I really am going to die from lack of breathing. But his lips feel good... I can't pull away.

Micah's arms were wrapped tightly around, Noah's hips, his ears twitching at every breath. His tail flicked against the ground in a rhythmic movement matching their heartbeats. His lips were locked on Noah's, something he never dreamed with Noah. Or never expected Noah to initiate.

Noah pulled away to catch his breath. For a second or two before diving back into the kiss. Noah never imagined this either. Not really. He kept thinking about his words and his cheeks flushed even more than they already were. Micah deepened the kiss, testing the waters, his tongue lightly tracing the edge of Noah's lips.

Noah's lips parted slightly and Miah took that as an advantage to deepen the kiss, tangling their tongues together. They pulled away again. How much time had passed? Micah kissed Noah slower now almost teasing and then deepening the kiss again. Noah felt a sharp bite on his lip. His eyes blinked open to see Micah pulling away looking embarrassed.

"I-I umm... S-sorry.." Micah mutters his voice rough. His right hand was covering his mouth.

  Did he bite me?

"What happened?" Noah asked his cheeks still slightly flushed.

"I lost control of my instincts."

  "What does that mean?"

"I-I... never mind. Luckily that wasn't your neck." Micah sat up and glanced up and the sky. Noah still seemed a bit worried; he was about to approach Micah when Micah's ears perked up. Not in the usual way. His ears seemed alarmed. And so did his tail.

A door behind them slammed open and a man burst through the doors, with glasses perched on his nose came out.

"Boss. I promise, I'll get some more eviden--" The man glanced up at them both and then his gaze landed on Micah's twitching ears, and thumping tail. His eyes widened. "B-boss... I-I..." The man dropped his phone and ran back to the door, before Noah could even say anything.

Micah stood up and took the phone from the ground. It was mostly broken. But it was nothing that couldn't be fixed.

Noah looked fearful. For almost a month the most danger they been was that maybe Noah's neighbors might find out about Micah... but now. He wasn't so sure anymore.

  What were they gonna do?
