The Warning

Ronin couldn’t stop thinking about his father.

For days he kept researching, looking through every document, every small piece of information he could find. But no matter how much he searched, the truth about his father’s death remained buried somewhere deep.

One name kept appearing again and again.

The company where his father used to work.

If the truth existed, it had to be there.

The next morning, Ronin stood across the street from the massive glass building. Employees walked in and out through the front gate while security guards watched carefully.

  Ronin clenched his fists.

He had no way to enter.

He wasn’t an employee. He had no connection to the company. To them, he was just another random kid.

But Ronin wasn’t planning to give up.

Later that day, he met Max at their secret base, the hidden underground spot where the two of them always planned things.

Max listened carefully as Ronin explained everything.

“You want to sneak into that company?” Max asked.

  Ronin nodded.

“It’s the only way to find the truth.”

Max stayed quiet for a moment before speaking.

  “My dad might help.”

  Ronin looked up.

Max’s father worked as a security guard for a powerful politician, which meant he had connections with several important places—including that company.

After some convincing, Max’s father agreed to help them enter the building as visitors.

The next day, Ronin finally stepped inside the company.

  The place looked normal.

  Too normal.

Employees walked around calmly. Offices were clean and organized. Everything looked like a perfectly ordinary workplace.

But Ronin’s instincts told him something was wrong.

He quietly checked different departments while Max’s father distracted the reception staff.

  Ronin asked about his father.

“Was there an employee named Albert here before?”

Most people simply shook their heads.

  “Never heard that name.”

  Others said something even stranger.

“There’s no record of anyone like that.”

  Ronin frowned.

  That was impossible.

His father had worked here for years.

How could there be no record at all?

The more Ronin looked around, the more suspicious things became.

While checking a computer screen left open in an office, Ronin noticed something strange in the employee database.

Some names had special marks next to them.

At first it looked like nothing important.

But when Ronin searched deeper, he realized something terrifying.

Those employees never appeared again after a certain date.

  No transfers.

  No resignations.

  No further activity.

  They simply… disappeared.

  Ronin’s heart started beating faster.

Something was very wrong with this company.

Before leaving, Ronin secretly stole a few files and data chips from one of the desks and quickly hid them inside his bag.

But there was one thing he didn’t notice.

A CCTV camera quietly watching everything.

  That evening Ronin returned home.

He immediately copied the stolen files into his computer and began analyzing them.

Just as he suspected, the data looked strange.

But before he could dig deeper, exhaustion finally caught up with him.

The next morning Ronin went to his boxing club, trying to clear his mind with training.

Punch after punch hit the heavy bag.

  Sweat dripped down his face.

For a moment, boxing helped him forget everything.

But the peace didn’t last long.

When Ronin returned home that evening, something felt wrong.

The front door was slightly open.

  Ronin stepped inside.

  Suddenly—

A loud noise came from the living room.

Several men appeared out of nowhere.

Before Ronin could react, one of them grabbed him and punched him hard in the stomach.

Ronin staggered back but quickly raised his fists.

  Years of boxing kicked in.

He dodged the next punch and hit one of the men across the jaw.

  Another attacker rushed toward him.

  Ronin fought back fiercely.

  But then—

  He froze.

One of the men was holding his mother, gripping her tightly by the arm.

  She struggled helplessly.

  “Stop!” the man shouted.

  Ronin’s fists slowly dropped.

The men surrounded him and began beating him brutally.

Punches rained down again and again.

  Blood filled his mouth.

Finally, one of them grabbed Ronin by the collar and pulled him up.

“You stole something from the company,” the man said coldly.

  Ronin stayed silent.

“Give us the files and the chips.”

Another punch slammed into his face.

“And listen carefully,” the man continued. “If you try anything against us again…”

He tightened his grip on Ronin’s collar.

“We won’t be this gentle next time.”

  Ronin looked at his mother.

  Fear filled her eyes.

  Slowly, Ronin nodded.

  “I’ll give them back.”

Satisfied, the men finally released him before leaving the house.

  But Ronin wasn’t done.

Before handing over the files, he had already copied all the data into his computer.

Even after the warning, he refused to let them escape.

  His mother was terrified.

“That company belongs to powerful people,” she told him. “We can’t fight them.”

But Ronin had already made his decision.

“If no one stops them… they’ll keep doing this to others.”

The next day Ronin went to the police station.

  He gave them everything.

  The files.

  The chips.

  All the evidence.

  But the officers barely reacted.

They looked through the documents lazily.

“We’ll investigate,” one of them said without much interest.

Ronin left the station feeling uneasy.

Something about their reaction felt wrong.

The next day Ronin went to school as usual, but his mind remained completely distracted.

After classes ended, he returned home.

His mother had already left for work.

Ronin walked straight to his computer.

But the moment the screen turned on—

  His heart stopped.

  The files were gone.

  Every single one.

  Deleted.

  Not just from his computer.

  From every backup.

  Every folder.

  Every drive.

It was like the information had never existed at all.

  Ronin’s hands started shaking.

  Someone had hacked his system.

  Immediately he called Max.

“Did you enter our secret base?” Ronin asked.

“What? No,” Max replied. “Why would I?”

  Ronin stayed silent.

Max was the only person who knew about the secret base.

  But Ronin trusted him completely.

  Max would never betray him.

  Which meant something far worse.

  Someone else was watching them.

  Hours passed.

Ronin searched the house again and again, trying to figure out what had happened.

His mother still hadn’t returned home.

  Maybe she was working late.

Exhaustion slowly took over his body.

Finally Ronin collapsed onto his bed and fell asleep.

The next morning Ronin woke up.

  The house felt strangely quiet.

  “Mom?” he called.

  No answer.

  Ronin walked toward the kitchen.

  Then he saw it.

  Blood.

A large pool of blood spread across the kitchen floor.

  Ronin’s heart nearly stopped.

In the center of the blood lay a piece of paper.

His hands trembled as he picked it up.

  The message read:

  Your mom is finished.

  Sleep well tonight.

  Sweet dreams.

  Game over.
