Chapter Six: The Kiss
Stormy weather is the kind of weather that Chun Hanlei fears the most, it's like a nightmare that brings up some deliberately suppressed memories. Although her body hurts and feels tired, she can't sleep soundly with her eyes closed. Her body tosses and turns, unable to open her eyes or fall asleep.
The room was filled with a chill, and the cold air could be felt even in the breaths exhaled from my nose. My body shivered with cold, yet despite the lack of warmth in the bed, my pajamas were drenched in sweat, and my chest felt like it was burning with fire. The scorching heat within me formed a stark contrast with the icy coldness of my body.

A bolt of lightning cut through the stillness of the deep night. After a night of rain, thunder suddenly struck. Gazing at the empty cup with a blurry vision, I let out a deep sigh.
She lifted up the quilt, afraid that her slippers would make a noise, and walked barefoot on the cold floor to open the small door.
It was already late at night and it seemed especially quiet outside.
Cheng Huanrui's footsteps were slightly floating, one hand supporting the wall, slowly walking downstairs.
Every step down the stairs seems a bit more exhausting, and this time's virus seems to be a few degrees more ferocious than those in recent years...
