Chapter 24: The First Secret Revealed

Lithanya, Yaithra and Samantha were back in the academy after spending half an hour asking Shuchang about his experience in Novaria. So far, there was more development to find out that the wives of the merchants were part of it and that Shuchang was a sex worker. That would be more charges against the smuggling merchants since there could be more slaves that were sex workers. All they had to do now was to wait for the names of the women that were involved in raping the slaves.

Samantha was walking into the passage in the senior investigator’s main office building. Until she stopped in the middle of the passage when she heard voices a few metres away. One of the voices sounded like Shilin’s voice and two other voices that she recognised. She slowly got closer to that specific office since the door was closed. Unfortunately, she couldn't use her sensor power because Shilin would be able to feel it. And she would get into so much trouble if Shilin felt her power here. She stopped a little away from the door but was still able to hear the conversation.

“Now that Shuchang is found alive, what's going to happen next?”, a man asked.

“Four people in this academy are investigating this case to find the smuggling merchants who kept him as slaves. We also believe that there are more people involved in this, including the merchants’ wives and companions.”, Shilin answered.

“How far are your investigators within solving this case?”

“They just started this case and got some developments that were a breakthrough. But it seems like it's going to take a while because there are so many people involved in this case.”

The second man joined the conversation. “When the smuggling merchants and their connections are captured, what’s going to happen to the diamonds in Novaria?”

“Of course, we’re going to take them.”, Shilin answered.

Samantha’s eyes widened. “What do you mean?”, the first man asked.

“The platinum diamonds in Novaria contain a specific power that can make you powerful. This power will make you stronger and can destroy an entire continent.”, Shilin explained with some happiness and pride.

Samantha’s eyes widened with more shock. “Are you going to use the power to also capture Tellus and Mortalis?”, the second man asked.

“Absolutely but we first need to suck out the powers from the stones which will take about a week. Due to the strength of the power.”

“Maybe if you get your investigators to collect the stones so you can have your hands on the stones. While they are collecting the other stones, you can suck out the powers to reduce time.”, the second man suggested.

Shilin chuckled. “That’s a great idea. I’ll have a small meeting with my two senior investigators tomorrow but indirectly tell them about this.”

Suddenly, there was a loud noise coming further away from where Samantha was standing. Samantha immediately turned around and ran to the main entrance of the building. The door opened revealing a bright silver light and Shilin came out of the room to see who was in the passage. There was not one single person walking or standing in the passage. Shilin walked back into the office, closing the door and making sure that the door was locked.

Lithanya was hiding behind the wall, looking at the corner of her eyes. She was checking that no one was in the passage. She walked in the different direction where there was a back entrance to the main office. This back entrance wasn’t used at all unless for emergency reasons.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

Lithanya was back in her bedroom, removing her black cloak. She threw the cloak on the bed then ran up the stairs to send her a letter to her father. She immediately sat on the table while grabbing the royal and golden quill. Immediately, she started writing on the paper faster. When she finished writing on the letter, the paper disappeared before she could put it into the envelope. Concern appeared in Lithanya’s eyes because this letter could go in the wrong hands.

“Don’t worry, I sent the letter to your father.”, Haoran was standing in a corner further away from her with his arms crossed.

Lithanya was relieved to hear. “What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be taking care of your brother?”

He came closer to her. “I heard everything in the conversation between Shilin and his companions.”

She got up from her chair. “Then we need to do something before the powers get into his hands. If he is using the powers for the wrong reasons, it can cause problems.”, he explained.

“I know. But first, we need to start recusing the first set of students.”, he stopped in front of her.

“And how are you going to do that?”

“You shall see tonight. Are you going to Novaria anytime soon?”, he asked.

“Probably by tomorrow or the next day. Miss Moonshadow is still waiting for confirmation.”

Haoran nodded. “I’ve a feeling Shilin’ll tell us tomorrow since he told his companions that he wants to see me and Miss Moonshadow tomorrow.”

Lithanya fully agreed with him. “So, what time are you going to save the first set of students?”

He unfolded his arms. “You’ll see tonight.”, he answered, then walked to the corner.

His body slowly disappeared in the air, heading back to Terradawn. Lithanya was left alone in the room until two knights appeared behind her.

“Your majesty.”, that sounded like Greyna.

Lithanya’s expression remained firm. “Did my father receive the letter?”, she asked.

“Yes, he is starting to put barriers and traps in place in case Shilin tries to invade our worlds.”, Bhavish answered.

  “And what about the stones?”

Greyna answered this question. “Unfortunately, he can’t keep the stones in Mortalis or Tellus because the powers can destroy the worlds just by sitting in the worlds that aren’t magical worlds.”

Lithanya listened carefully. “Then there’s no way the stones are saved because Shilin watches everything.”, she was being realistic.

“What are we going to do next?”, Bhavish asked.

Lithanya turned to him. “Try and set intense traps in case of invasion. We must protect our worlds from invasion.”, she said firmly. “Make sure that you and everyone also trains hard.”

They acknowledged her. “Yes, your majesty.”

Greyna and Bhavish slowly disappeared back to Vacanta. Again, Lithanya was left alone in the room and was ready to do some work. She wasn’t interested in the work since the senior investigators showed no interest. Plus, she was an undercover student so she didn’t need to take this education seriously. She was only here to find out who killed the victim and recuse everyone in this academy.

As she was about to head to the bathroom, a white owl flew into the room. It landed on the desk with the golden envelope in its mouth. The owl made a sound to grab Lithanya’s attention which it did. She walked towards the owl while holding a light green silky nightgown. Once she was at the desk, she gently pulled out the envelope then placed some seeds on the desk. The top of the envelope was ripped open and she pulled out a white piece of paper with golden mystical patterns.

  Lithanya

Please meet me in The Sorceress's Inn on Friday. Now that you found the first victim of Theodora, I want to tell you more about Novaria.

  Lona

Lithanya was happy in her heart that Lona communicated with her. Lithanya slotted the paper back into the envelope then the envelope slowly turned into ashes. She walked to the bathroom to have a bath and do a little bit of work.
