Chapter 11

That discovery led to a whirlwind of busy work while leaving Meteora time to sleep and grow into the person that had come through the actions of wanting a peaceful oceanic nap.

And now? It was graduation day after three long years.

*Crap, crap crap! I overslept from crunching numbers all night!*

Foot steps raced across the hallway as Meteora barely made it to the field where the graduation ceremony was being held and quickly found the seat marked Meteora to sit in.

As the ceremony went on, Meteora glanced around, seeing all the homeroom teachers while specifically finding Sonny and Merida. Who looked extremely proud when Meteora's eyes had met theirs.

Moving on to the school's practical's teachers. Meteora looked until meeting Tori's gaze. Who for some reason seemed to tear up when their eyes locked while she fidgeted with something. And for once, she was wearing a simple yet elegant sundress that was very her instead of her practical wear she would wear everyday.

Before Meteora could turn to the stands, the principal cleared her throat.

"Now, before we start the handing out of the diplomas, it is time for the number one seat from each practical to come forth to receive their Astra-boon." She said calm, yet with almost a fervent energy.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

  Meteora tensed at this.

The Astra-boon. Every graduating class had them for every AZC practical taker. The graduating class Meteora was in had students in every practical. Which was extremely rare and made the graduating class be considered a genius of genius's class. It wasn't really explained what the Astra-boon did, but most practical instructors were Astra-boon holders themselves, so maybe it was to pick the next generation possible instructors. That's what some theorized at least.

But those who walked up made Meteora sigh, it was easy to tell they were from money and had more backing than others. Maybe this was why Seris and Elowen did not care about not having first seats in their practical.

  *Just some pomp and circumstance*

Thought Meteora while letting out a huff.

As each of the twelve received their boon, it did not go unnoticed that Tori seemed nervous to anyone.

Meteora had a sinking feeling something major was going to happen, and felt an uncomfortable pang of concern for Tori, huffing while listening intently to ignore the feeling.

Soon, it was Tori's turn to give the Astra-boon to the first seat of the Taurus practical, but instead of walking off with the receiver, she stood their awkwardly before taking a deep breath and her usual self returned.

"I have an announcement to make!" She said loud enough for all to hear. "Upon much deliberation between the AZC and myself with Lady Taurus. A Thirteenth shall be chosen to be recognized during this ceremony." She said with stoic conviction while her eyes shone with excitement and pride as her gaze fell upon Meteora.

When their eyes met, Meteora stiffened while silently cursing.

"No First Name, Surname: Meteora of the Taurus practical! Please come forward to be recognized for you hard work!" She called out in what seemed in triumph.
