Chapter 02 final part First Quest

"Hmph, you think that in a mere 11 days you have gained enough knowledge to find what I missed." McGlord asked in an annoyed tone.

"I believe that I have read enough to try." Micheal said.

"Fine, but this is your only chance, should you fail, well I think you know what will happen."McGlord said stiffly as he had Micheal unshackled. "Follow me, the book is in the experimentation lab. The room that you were created."

They left the Library and went down the hall, after a few minutes they arrived at the room that Micheal had originally awoken in. Micheal decided to take a quick look around, the only 2 things that caught his eye where a large cauldron filled with a sticky crimson liquid that emitted a wicked and cruel intent, and a large array filling most of the rom, centered right beneath the cauldron.

"The book is here, boy. Within the next 3 days you had best grasp what happened during the ritual or I will flay you alive and use you as spare parts." McGlord said as Micheal was reshackled and the Wraiths entered the room.

Micheal grabbed the book and started to carefully examine it. The book was bound in the Fleash of an Arch-Fiend. The pages made from preserved Human Flesh whilst tied with Human tendons. The text was written in a strange blood like substance that shimmered in the candle light. The book held the title 'Agma Yong Changjo'.

Closing the windows Micheal Slowly and carefully opened the book and began to read.

"A Demon-Dragon hybrid is said to be an incredibly powerful being that can supposedly rival the gods themselves. Though this is just a rumor as such hybrids are incredibly rare maybe only 1 in every 10 billion beings born a year might be one. Even rarer than one being born is one that reaches maturity, as the bloodlines of Demons and Dragons counter eachother in such a way that the hybrid will ,9 time out of 10, die upon reaching puberty. The only theorized way for this to be stopped is for the being to find a way to balance for the bloodlines."

"Well that most certaintly sucks. I wonder how the ones who reached maturity found a balance." Micheal mumbled to himself turning a few pages.

"An artificial hybrid can be created by merging all the parts of a Demon and a Dragon in a unique fashion. The parts of the 2 races that are to be used need to be as fresh as possible, so as to increase the odds that the ritual will work. The higher the rank of the Demon and the older the Dragon the better, as this will make the artificial hybrid more powerful."

As Micheal read through the book it started seeming more like a cook book rather than a book for creating an artificial being, as it spoke of the proper measurements for eash part from the bone marrow, to the amount of blood needed, to how long to let the body bath in the blood. Tens of pages on the method for preparing the materials and gathering them, as well as how to properly set up the array. The last few pages of the book spoke of infusing the aftificial hybrid with the casters Elemental Affinity. The only Element that seemed to be missing was Death. Micheal decided to make note of that and let McGlord know. After finishing the book Micheal set about memorizing everything the book said.

  2 days later.

'Alchemy?', Micheal thought, 'McGlord said this was a ritual book.....I guess that he was mistaken.'

Closing the window and book Micheal stood up and moved to inspect the array and cauldron. He covered avery possible angle and got as close as he could to the array's runes. This took him all of his 3rd day.

Exactly 72 hours after leaving McGlord entered the room in a huffy manner, as if he was beggining to fret over something. "Tell me boy, have you found anything yet?" McGlord asked in a hurried manner.

"I found 3 things that you may have missed. First, the book speaks of infusing the artificial being with the casters natural Affinity yet stated nothing about what happens if somebody with the Death Elemental Affinity is the caster. Secondly, it looks like some of the runes used for the array are broken or not correctly angled. Lastly, the book is an alchemical tome, did you know that?" Micheal stated bladly.

"What did you say?! An alchemical text? No information for if the caster has the Death Affinity?", McGlord shouted.

"That is exactly what I said. The book contains the process for every Element except for Death. My guess is because this process is supposed to create a souless puppet whilst the Death Element is, as far as I can tell, the closest Element there is for dealing with souls, thus giving me a soul and life." Micheal stated as he took out the book and flipped it open to the last few pages before handing it over to McGlord.

Taking the book from Micheal, McGlord started to skim through the pages he was shown, only to find that Micheal was telling the truth, the book was indeed alchemic in nature and did lack the information on users of the Death Element. Strong killing intent started surging out from McGlord as he stared at Micheal, "You have indeed noticed somethings that I failed to notice. As such I will keep my word you are free to go. Now leave before i change my mind.", McGlord said in a rage.

This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.

"Huh, it looks like I mistook you. I thought you were the type of person who would go back on thier word. Since that is not the case I will be going now." Micheal said.

Just as Micheal walked passed McGlord he felt a sharp pain in his back. Things started going black as he heard "Yes you are free to go, but the resorces used to make you, those stay as they are my property." The last thing Micheal saw was McGlord holding a Ritualistic dagger the sas covered in blood, his blood.

'That bastard killed me. I mean sure I expected it but still. 5 days untill I return to the world of the living huh? Interesting. I guess I might as well take me time and try Cultivating again.' Micheal said to himself as a window opened in front of him.

Closing the windows Micheal Decided that since it would take 4 days for his QI to purify and he had 5 days till he went back that he would take 4 days to cultivate and practice his techniques on the last day before returning.

Slowly 5 days had passed by and Micheal opened his eyes to find the Library that he had spent so much time in before he was stabbed in the back. He carefully checked the Library for signs of McGlord and his undead servants, only to find the undead torn to pieces and hear shouting and runniong coming from the direction of the experimentation lab. Looking out the door Micheal saw McGlord, battered, covered in blood, and missing his right arm, Running in his direction being chased by a group of people who looked like they were out for blood. "Filthy Necromancer you dared to steal children from the nearby villages to experiment on." A voice shouted, sounding with a righteous rage. McGlord slid into the Library and rudhed to close the door and block it with anything he could get his hand on.

"What the hell happened to you, corpse face?"Micheal siad from around the corner of a shelf, out of McGlords line of sight.

McGlord jumped and screamed like a little girl, then turned in the direction of Micheals voice. "You....where are you? How can you still be here boy? I killed you and dismantled your body." He said scared stiffless.

Micheal used this moment to torment McGlord, "Body? Ah that's right you killed me. I guess I need a new body then don't I? Why don't I just take yours?"

"Because even if you did take my body you would be killed mercilessly by those bastards out there. They have come to enact revenge on my on the behest of the villagers. I'm dead either way so I don't really care.", McGlord said in a defeated manner.

"Your right you are dead, so why don't I kill you, that way I can enact my revenge on you." Micheal said as he appeared right next to McGlord and through out a fist that was covered in a bloody light. McGlord didn't even have a chance to dodge as the fist connected with his chest and painted the wall and shelves with blood, bits of bone, and chunks of internal organs. This was the Heavens Slaughter Fist technique that Micheal had learned to the 1st rank.

"Well, that was unexpected. He died so easily. Oh well, lets see here.......Monk seems fitting so we can forget about the secend reward, and if I reincarnate I have to practice all over again, so that's not gonna happen. Looks like I choose rewards number 1 and number 3.

this is what the array would look like, just more sinister

this is the image I used for the meridians and accupoints
