To the Dwarven Kingdom

The time after the festival flew by quickly.

The morning after,we ate a small breakfast set up like yesterday's lunch and announced to Luci's parents - the king and queen - that we pnned to leave as soon as possible to register at the Guild and become adventurers. They said that the envoy from the Stub Mountains would leave in three more days and that we will leave with them to their Guild headquarters.

Luci had been preparing for months now, so she had everything she needed already, but I have nothing aside from this... revealing dress. To prepare, we headed to a local tailor and Luci put in an order for a few outfits in my size, and after that Luci took me to the armory to pick a weapon.

"You can take anything you want from here, Mira, but try to keep it to a minimum. It's mostly all for the soldiers after all."

As soon as I entered, I already had my attention drawn to one.

"What's that dusty sword in the corner? It seems interesting."

"Ah, that one. Most of the weapons in here are Dwarf-make, but that was sold to us by one of the beastfolk tribes. It's called a katana. The curve of the bde allows it to be a lot sharper than most other bdes, while also maintaining good durability. The soldiers don't use it since they'd rather maintain uniformity, but it's perfect for an adventurer in my opinion. Try it out if you want."

  "Alright."

I picked up the katana and blew the dust off, then I took the sheath in my left hand and drew it with my right. Suddenly, it was like I was seeing double. My vision was overpping for a second, but what I saw... wasn't from my own eyes. It looked like a man's point of view, and his hands were almost exactly like the ones I had in my dream at the bath. The hands, like my own, were unsheathing a katana, but the one in the vision had a sort of gray glow to the bde.

It ended as soon as it started, and I stared at the sword in my hand, shocked and confused at my second 'vision' in two days.

"Mira? Is something wrong with it?"

"...No..." I figured it wasn't that important right now, and it'll probably just be too much trouble to expin right now. If it did end up being important I could just tell her anyway.

"Well then, give it a few swings."

  "Alright."

I swung the sword a few times, and... I can't expin it, but it just feels natural- even more so than when I used the wooden sword st night. I returned it to its sheath.

  "It's good, I think I'll take it."

"Good choice, it really suits you. When you're ready we can go."

After a moment of looking around, I grabbed a sturdy looking dagger from a nearby table.

  "Alright. I'm done."

She silently nodded, and we left the armory. After we ate the lunch served, we sat and discussed our pns until dinner, and after that I headed to the bath and bed. The next day was less eventful: I woke up, I ate, and I chatted with Luci and Tahli - she wanted to spend time with us before we left. Lunch passed, and then it was nearly time for dinner when anything happened.

"Miss Mira, I have a delivery for you. It's from the tailor."

  "Ah! Yes, thank you."

I took the delivery from the butler and he left with a nod. He gave me a pile of clothes, so the only thing it could be is my order from the tailor. There should be two identical outfits here, and after a quick check I confirmed I got everything. I set them to the side and carried on with my uneventful day. After dinner, I brought them to my room and left for the bath. I made sure to rex in there for a while before I got out and headed to sleep.

The next morning, it was finally time to depart. I got out of bed and started to put on my new clothes. First, actual fitting underwear. Next I had brown pants made of some kind of soft leather. After the pants I wore a simple bck t-shirt. The belts were a little confusing, but I figured them out and had them on shortly after. I connected the sheath of my katana to my left hip and put dagger on the smaller belt partly down my right thigh. The st thing was a hooded cloak that once again matched my hair and stretched no further than my waist in order to not get in the way of my sword.

I left to the dining hall to meet up with Luci and the dwarves.

  "Good morning, Mira."

  "Mira!"

Sure enough, both princesses were already seated at the table with their parents.

  "Morning, everyone."

I only just realized, but I am starting to get pretty close to all of them aren't I? The king and queen have basically been treating me as their own child this whole time, and Tahli's always enthusiastic when she sees me as well. It's only been a few days, but I'm really gonna miss them all when we leave.

We ate in silence, as I've gathered to be the etiquette for royalty here, and when we were all finished and I could see the dwarves outside loading their carriages, King Wendell stood up.

"Luci, Mira. My daughter and a woman who I would like to think was also my daughter were the situation to be different. You two are to set off shortly to the Dwarven Capital city in the Stub Mountains, where you will register with the Adventurer's Guild and begin what I may presume to be a long, treacherous journey. Luci, I've told you before about my own grandmother, and I will do it again. As she once wielded nature magic in conjunction with wind, you will too, and as she once climbed the dder into A rank, you shall surpass her. And Mira, I ask of you this: Protect my daughter, and make sure she returns alive to cim the throne of Pristel. I pray the Goddess grants you strength and protection for your journey, and Mira? I hope you still remember this small kingdom when you become a legendary adventurer and mark your pce in history."

He sat back down after his speech. The queen, Lana, spoke when he was seated, but unlike him she didn't stand up.

"Mira. Your ability to use all elemental magic is something of legend, and as my husband said, you are sure to do amazing things with it. Take this advice: Never grow careless. No matter how strong you become, do not take that for granted, and always strive for better. A single, avoidable mistake can cost your life, and I would hate to see you or Luci come to harm. Good luck, and stay safe."

"Thank you. I will keep that in mind."

"Mira, you ready?" Luci was already standing up with her bow sling over her shoulder. I got to my feet and we started leaving.

  "Sis! Mira!"

  "Hmm? Lia?"

  "Please come back safe!"

  "We will Lia, I promise."

  "Yay!"

With that, we joined the dwarves in loading our supplies and climbed into the carriage they directed us to. It was originally for storage, but there were still seats in it and nothing was taking up much room, so it was pretty spacious for the two of us.

"It'll be two days to the Stub Mountains once we leave Pristel's borders, and another half day from there until we reach the Capital. We're gonna be the best party the world's ever seen! You ready for it?"

"Yeah, ready as I'll ever be."

Shortly after, the carriage started moving, and we were now on our way to the Dwarven Kingdom!
