Chapter 11 Reason

  Chapter 11 Reason

He Yancen picked up his glass and took a sip of water, after hearing her words, his eyes casually glanced at a letter of resignation on the office desk.

Chu Zui saw that there was a coffee room outside his office, and his assistant and secretary were not lacking. It should be easy to make coffee, but unexpectedly, after so many years, he still hadn't changed this habit. Every morning, he liked to drink a cup of plain water, and amazingly, it had remained unchanged for ten years.

"Planning to quit?" He put down the water cup, walked around the office desk and sat down. His long and slender fingers with distinct joints tossed the resignation letter in front of him, raised his eyes and glanced at her standing figure in front of him.

  "Yes, I'm quitting!"

He Yancen remained silent, leaning against the back of his chair, his profound gaze, as dark and mysterious as black onyx, fixed intently on her: "What's your reason?"

Chu Zui felt a bit disgusted by his cold gaze, wondering if it was because of the ruthless words she had spoken to him in the past, making her feel guilty, or something else. She had never been so nervous speaking in front of him before, but now, it seemed like the world had turned upside down.

"What other reason do I need to resign? It's just that I don't want to work here anymore, I'm going to jump ship and change jobs. It's clearly written in the report, do I still need to explain it to you?"

He Yanci smiled faintly, his eyes gleaming with a profound smile, and with a flick of his finger, the resignation report was torn in two.

"What do you mean?" Chu Zui finally got angry, took a big step forward, and pressed his hands heavily on the desk in front of him. His bright and clear eyes stared into He Yancen's cold and proud eyes: "He Yancen, I advise you to let me leave Shangshi immediately. Since you have the ability to sit in this position, you should know what it means to separate public and private matters, and not bully people like this!"

The man in front of him suddenly revealed a cold sneer at the corner of his mouth, and casually threw the torn resignation letter into the trash can beside him. In Chu Zui's gaze that was almost devouring people, he coldly ridiculed: "So, Miss Chu, please tell me, are you public or private to me?"

"...Chu Zui was speechless for a moment."

"I'm really curious, you're the pride of the Chu family group, what are you doing running to the Shang family?" He looked at her, his eyes calm and distant, yet with an oppressive feeling that was almost suffocating.

  "I..."

Chu Zui gritted her teeth, he must have never guessed that she had cut off all ties with her family and couldn't even afford to pay rent on time, let alone being the same Chu Zui who used to be so high and mighty in front of him.

She took a few deep breaths, suppressing the surging anger, turned her head to look at the report in the trash can, and endured again: "Forget it, I'll just copy another one!"

As soon as she finished speaking, she turned around and was about to leave. She didn't know if it was because the door of this office was closed too tightly or the air pressure was too low, but she felt that standing here made breathing difficult, especially under He Yan's gaze, really, very difficult!

He Yancen simply looked at the wound on her arm that had already begun to heal, his eyes calm and slightly cold.

"A graduate of Exeter's finance department, being made just an administrative manager is indeed a waste of talent." The voice behind her echoed in her ears, successfully stopping Chu Zui's footsteps.

She suddenly turned around and stared at He Yan Chen with an unclear expression: "What do you mean?"

He Yancen just smiled and didn't speak, his calm and distant gaze was not the He Yancen that Chu Zui had known before, yet it seemed to still be him, forever scheming in secret, forever so deep and unfathomable.
