36.”Auction House”

The next day, Su Wen, Chen You, and Zhou Wan submitted a request to the school. After paying the accommodation fees, they quickly moved into the dormitories.

To ensure safety, Su Wen specifically asked Mu Hanzhi to arrange their dorm next to Wu Yan’s. Zhou Wan, though in the girls' dormitory, was also pced next to a senior training instructor.

Mu Hanzhi sensed something unusual but couldn’t get any answers from Su Wen and Chen You, who insisted they moved in simply because their homes were too far away.

Unable to get to the bottom of it, Mu Hanzhi reported the matter to the principal.

After listening to Mu Hanzhi’s report, the principal nodded. “I understand.”

He then called Wu Yan to his office.

“How are you settling in at Cloud High?” the principal asked once Wu Yan arrived.

Wu Yan sat upright on the sofa. “Dad, just tell me what’s going on.”

The principal, whose full name was Wu Zhiguo, was Wu Yan’s father.

The principal chuckled. “You’ve gotten better at reading the room over the years.”

He then turned serious. “Do you know that Su Wen, Chen You, and Zhou Wan have moved into the school dormitories?”

Wu Yan nodded. “Yes, they’re right next to me. Su Wen even came by today to ask for my help.”

Leaning forward slightly, Wu Yan asked, “Did they get into trouble?”

The principal picked up some tea leaves and was about to pour hot water when Wu Yan quickly added the water for him.

Sipping his tea, the principal said slowly, “I’m not sure, but there’s definitely something going on. Keep an eye on them.”

Wu Yan scratched his head, looking troubled. “But Dad, you know how busy I am. I’m teaching five csses.”

“It’s not a conflict. When you’re not teaching, you’re free, and during css, you’ll naturally be around them.”

“But when I’m not teaching, I need to spend time with my girlfriend. I’m almost forty; I need to carry on the Wu family line.”

The principal’s hand holding the teacup trembled slightly, but he remained calm. “It’s fine. Your older brother already has two kids. The Wu family line won’t end.”

Seeing his father’s unyielding stance, Wu Yan coughed lightly. “Dad, what I mean is, this is a separate matter.”

The principal gnced at Wu Yan, put down his teacup, and pulled out his cane, gently stroking the dragon head handle. “I’m getting old, and my hearing isn’t what it used to be. What did you just say, Wu Xiao’er?”

Instantly, Wu Yan felt his hair stand on end. A father’s wrath was far more terrifying than any threat.

“I said, don’t worry, Dad. If Su Wen and the others lose even a single hair, I’ll chop off my head and use it as a stool,” Wu Yan decred, thumping his chest.

“Oh?” The principal nodded and put the cane back. “Then why are you still here? Waiting for me to invite you to dinner?”

Wu Yan fled the principal’s office as if his life depended on it.

“Hmph, this brat. Still no grandchildren for me, and he dares to make demands,” the principal muttered, clearly displeased with Wu Yan’s single status. At the AuctionOver the next half month, life at school was uneventful, and the trio almost forgot about “Dawn.” Su Wen and Chen You also grew closer to Wu Yan, often listening to his tales of past adventures—though he never mentioned the World Championship that had ended his career.

One weekend, Wu Yan asked Su Wen and Chen You, “Ever been to an auction?”

“No,” they both shook their heads. As high school students, they didn’t have the means to attend auctions.

Wu Yan grinned. “Come on, I’ll show you something interesting.”

Su Wen and Chen You wanted to invite Zhou Wan, but she had already made pns with Wang Momo to go shopping.

Sitting in Wu Yan’s car, Su Wen and Chen You were full of curiosity.

Chen You couldn’t hold back. “Teacher Wu, what kind of stuff do they sell at this auction?”

Wu Yan expined, “It’s a state auction, but the items are all confiscated from corrupt officials. The items aren’t disclosed beforehand, so it’s a bit like a bck market. There might be something useful for us, or maybe nothing at all.”

“But you must have some insider information, right?” Su Wen, sitting in the passenger seat, smiled knowingly.

Wu Yan gnced at him. “Smart kid. I heard there’s an ?Electirizer at this auction. I’m determined to get it.”

An ?Electirizer was a special item that allowed Electabuzz to evolve into Electivire. The evolution not only significantly boosted its stats but also changed its ability from ?Static to ?Motor Drive, which was a game-changer in battles.

“Teacher Wu, is Electabuzz your ace Pokémon?” Chen You asked.

Wu Yan smirked mysteriously. “Not my ace, but it’s definitely my second strongest right now.”

“By the way, Teacher Wu, is your ability reted to electricity?” Su Wen had always been curious about Wu Yan’s ability but hadn’t found the right time to ask until now.
