Light and dark magic no one know what it is as any and all information on it is not available.
Fire isn't exactly fire. It does include sonic strikes, thunder and so on.
Wind isn't exactly wind. It does include stealth, speed boast and so on.

Fearing how some despicable humans can wield light magic the omnipotent's even the fraction of god's power. The ancient knowledge was sealed into oblivion for eternity.
There are three ways to utilise magic,
Magic circle: it is most basic and rudimentary form of magic utilisation. It uses prewritten information for quick casting with essentially least delay possible. It is used for unexpected or unpredictable situations where a sec could be the deciding factor between life or death. These are generally consumables as the flow of magic destroyes the circle itself...
Incantation: it is the most common way to utilise magic. It uses a chant for magic resource collection, specification, invocation and is compatible with all kinds of magic. It is convenient for simple magic but anything that increases the level of rewriting of reality involves longer chants which is not exactly friendly for battles.
Concept invocation: it is the most difficult way to cast a magic as it requires unfathomable amounts of information to be precisely and concisely specified for the magic to be casted or to rewrite the reality. It usually places and heavy burden on the mind and soul of the caster, making it different to learn for anyone who is not under their teens or can use light or water magic.
Energy exchange.
Magic is wielded by the mages by primarily few ways.
First is the resource obtained from oneself. It's called inate casting. It's primary advantage is that it doesn't make people dependent on a single terrain, a properly trained mage can use low tier magic without limitations but mid and high tier are limited. People who don't have reinforced soul's utilising magic on reality breaking scale is nothing short of impossible.
Second is the resource obtained by pooling together a bunch of mid to high level mages. This technique is also called a ceremonial magic as it takes litterally days to launch an attack but it unleashes a power on par with high tier magic which distributes the side effects to all the people involved.
Third is the rune stone, it is a special type of rock that was created by some unknown methods. It can mined off the earth and it essentially replaces the human part of the equation. It uses its own magic energy for casting with only minimal guidance from the user. The main drawback being, it recovers it's magic painfully slow.
Did I mention about spirits mages. These are special types of individuals who can use the cast magic low to mid tier spells like spamming overuse of the magic available around them. But use too much, the spirit will go into hiding within the user/mage's soul, which means it'll naturally stop working. Leaving people confused in the middle of fight.
Spirits don't generally prefer to even hang around humans. And mostly gathers around the type of people they prefer which is stuff of legends. But light magic uses are special as they can use telepathy for communication which is something the spirits pefer as their mere existence is an offence to the world itself.
Spirits are ruled over by fairy kings and queens of 6 attributes. The Fairy kings and queens can use assimilation with their attribute and opposite gender wielder to release the absolute mother f*cking devastation. But, They live in secluded regions like in the middle of a dense forest or anywhere they can exist without interruption.
Oh did I mention faries were the product of ancient civilizations. In their quest to tame god, they made the impossible possible~

If you were a duple of light and water magic. You can litterally reconfigure yourself into anything you desire and a will strong enough to endure the long and painful process and willingness to break yourself no backups allowed.
Given enough days or months or years. A person could potentially possess all 6 attributes.
