125 - Gunshot Echoes A Display of Power

"Trading weapons for high-yield seeds or livestock."

Jason, along with Joyce and the other two girls, were strolling through the gathering place when a sign on a stall caught his eye, prompting him to stop.

The stall displayed several weapons, and two men stood guard, eyeing everyone suspiciously. Anyone who got too close would find the stallholders picking up their wares, wary of theft.

While there were rules against fighting, there were none against stealing.

Many stallholders had previously lost items to thieves, unable to retrieve them, and were left to accept their misfortune.

This was why stalls within the gathering place had so few items on display, to minimize potential losses.

What attracted Jason wasn't the weapons themselves, but the stallholders' desire to trade for high-yield seeds and livestock.

He approached the stall with the three girls, first examining the weapons on display. There was one E-Rank dagger, and the rest were Wooden Spears and Wooden Axes – all Rankless weapons.

"Hey, brothers, have you managed to trade for any high-yield seeds or livestock yet?" Jason asked curiously.

The two men manning the stall were initially uninterested in Jason, their attention completely captured by the three girls behind him.

  Joyce, Ellie, and Lily.

Damn, seeing these three, their eyes nearly popped out of their heads, and they envied Jason like crazy.

Where did he find such young and beautiful women? They wanted some too.

Beautiful women were rare these days. They had tried looking for women on the RVs, but pretty girls were becoming increasingly scarce; almost all vehicle owners were on the lookout.

This was why Jason had spent so long in the city just to find Sarah.

After all, 99% of male vehicle owners were looking for beautiful women, and most of the attractive women on the RVs had already been picked over.

Some of the women even got to choose their rides before getting on board.

If you want me to come with you, you need at least an A-Rank or B-Rank vehicle.

Low-level vehicles like Vans and cars were being looked down upon by some women.

And the three girls behind Jason were not only pretty, but they also looked clean and exuded youthful energy.

One of the men ignored Jason's question and instead turned to the three girls, asking, "Hey, pretty ladies, interested in joining me on my ride?"

The man pointed to an armored vehicle parked behind his stall, unable to resist showing off, "See that? My armored vehicle is a B-Rank vehicle; it'll keep you safe for sure."

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Joyce and the other two girls were not to be trifled with, and they gave the man a disdainful look.

Ellie was the first to mock him, "Get real. What's there to be proud of with those few broken weapons on your stall? You think we'd want to go with you? Don't you feel embarrassed?"

Lily and Joyce snickered, their ridicule for the armored vehicle owner obvious.

The stallholder's face flushed red, and he glanced at Jason and the girls, then sneered, "You look down on the weapons on my stall. What impressive weapons can you come up with?"

He knew that his weapons were a bit low-end, but they weren't worthless either, or he wouldn't have bothered setting up a stall.

He hadn't expected to be mocked by the three girls, which made him lose face. He was unwilling to admit defeat and wanted to see what weapons Jason could produce that would make the girls look down on him, an armored vehicle owner. The previous world Jason was not in the same area with him.

In Jason's area, Wooden Spears were practically being given away, and you could find four or five on any RV.

But other areas didn't have so many Rankless weapons.

Rankless weapons were still quite popular, and E-Rank weapons were treasures in the hands of various teams. D-Rank weapons had only appeared on the world auction channel, which showed how rare they were.

Ellie instinctively touched her waist, where she carried the most valuable D-Rank weapon.

But considering that taking it out recklessly would cause trouble for Jason, Ellie had to suppress the urge to slap the man in the face.

Jason didn't intend to take out a D-Rank weapon to do that either.

So, Jason said, "Brother, we just wanted to ask if you have any high-yield seeds or livestock. We're not trying to compare weapons."

"What's wrong? Can't you even produce an E-Rank weapon?" the stallholder sneered at Jason.

He then picked up the E-Rank dagger from his stall and showed it to Jason and the girls.

"I have more than just one E-Rank weapon on my vehicle, or I wouldn't be selling this E-Rank dagger."

The stallholder couldn't help but feel smug, while also wondering how to entice these three pretty girls to come with him.

Some people who were strolling through the gathering place noticed the situation and curiously came to watch.

The stallholder looked over the three girls behind Jason, eventually settling on the blonde, blue-eyed Ellie, who had just mocked him.

"Hey, pretty lady, why don't you come with me? This E-Rank dagger can be yours."

"No way. What's so great about a broken dagger?" Ellie retorted.

"You…" The stallholder's mouth twitched, and he grumbled, "What weapons can you even come up with?"

Ellie crossed her arms and raised her chin, "The weapons I have are a hundred times better than your broken dagger."

  Wow, just keep bragging.

Some of the newcomers rolled their eyes at Ellie's words.

Jason frowned at the two men at the stall.

This stallholder had tried to lure the three girls away from him twice now. Did he think Jason was made of clay?

The stallholder and the onlookers had no idea that Jason was already contemplating murder. They were still laughing at Ellie for exaggerating.

Some even asked Ellie to show them a weapon that was a hundred times better than an E-Rank dagger.

Then Jason spoke, "Ellie, show them the weapon you have."

Hearing Jason's words, Ellie's eyes lit up, and she pulled out her Flintlock Pistol from her waist, firing six shots into the sky.

  *Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!*

The scene instantly fell silent. Everyone stared dumbfounded at the Flintlock Pistol in Ellie's hand.

Some people standing nearby even smelled a faint gunpowder scent.

  "This… this is…"

  A Flintlock Pistol!

Everyone immediately remembered the Flintlock Pistol that had been auctioned off for 9,000 Escape Coins on the world auction channel a few days ago. Now, it was in the hands of a young girl.

  "Wait, he… he's Jason!"

Someone in the crowd pointed at Jason and exclaimed in shock. Then they noticed the girl beside Jason, "And Joyce!"

Others might not recognize Jason and Joyce, but those who had been in the same area as Jason had heard of their achievements.

Not only had they slaughtered high-level zombies in a Dungeon, but Jason could also ignore the rules against fighting and had killed two black men.
