Chapter one episode 8 – The calm Before the storm

As days passed by, everything seemed to feel more normal, everyone in the dorms had been getting along and csses were flowing smoothly. Our only problem now was getting our siblings back. But that would have to wait for now.

the group was all sitting at a table in the dinning hall, eating dinner as they talked

“Wait so you guys are like, royalty?” Owen asked looking curiously at me and Chris, whilst taking another bite of his food.

“Technically, although Mezu was head to the throne, not me.” Chris replied, also turning his head to look in my direction.

“Well..yes we are, well I mean we were. I’m sure my mom would just love to see where I’m at. She’d probably smite me where I stood if she saw her amazing heir to the throne dressed as a human and prancing around Alynthi.” I rolled my eyes

“Do your parents not like humans?” Ivy questioned

“It’s not that, but they definitely think humans are below us, which I don’t particurly agree with” I scooped up a spoonful of the soup in-front of me and ate it before looking back at the others.

“But I suppose when you’ve been shown the beauty of human life..” I looked at Akira, and he smiled back at me. “…it kind of opens your mind up to new perspectives”

“Speaking of our time as royals..” ssher took a bite out of a piece of bread, it crunching loudly as she looked over in our direction “me and Mezu used to meet up all the time as kids!” I smiled

“Yeah, for sword fighting.” Sierra perked up

“You never told us you could sword fight Mezu, that’s a pretty hard thing to learn”

“Well, I don’t do it as often now that my mother isn’t here to force me to practice it everyday, I’m the same way with the instruments I know.”

“Me and you should duel again Mezu! One on one!” I shook my head

“I’m not nearly as good as I used to be, you’d beat me within seconds”

“Well, can’t argue with facts I suppose” she leaned back with a cheeky grin, Chris scoffed

“Like hell you’d beat her, you leave yourself wide open all the time, you also need practice” ssher seemingly looked offended, although probably more than she should’ve been

“Hey! I’m not sloppy, I’m just, really tired all the time” Chris smirked

“Sure ssher, anything that helps you get over defeat”

I ughed as they argued, and after a small while people began to start leaving the table and heading back to their rooms.

I cleaned my pte before looking at a my watch, “ah, 9:30 pm…probably time for me to go get some rest”

“You sleep so early” Akira said looking at me from the table, he had one of his elbows on the table, his head on his hand and his other arm in his p.

“I can’t really break the habit, I’ve been sleeping this early since I was little, you remember right?”

“Hah, of course I do, every night you were out like a light at nine, and then you’d always wake me at six”

“You always slept in till ten..” he chuckles,

“Well I guess we both have habits we can’t break” I smiled, looking at the hallway to the rooms

“…I should go, we have css after all, take care Akira”

  “See you tomorrow Mezu”

I walked down the hall and up the stairs to my room, I changed my clothes and then snuggled into bed.

  Mezu……..Mezu…..Mezu!

A girl shook awake, she had short blue hair and dark eyes, she was sitting at a table with another woman who was much older.

“Mezu if you can’t pay attention, then what good will you be to me ter.”

“Apologies mother, I didn’t mean to”

“A week from now, you will go to a ball and meet some princes, I want you to at least choose someone you wouldn’t mind marrying in the near future”

“But mother I don’t want to marry anyone!”

“Enough. You are the heir to this kingdom, you’ll need a king to rule while you tend to the other needs, like your children”

“But I don’t want that stuff, I wanna go adventure and learn things” the woman looked upset as she stood up and grabbed the girl by the wrist.

“Seems talking won’t do any good, guards! Put her in the dungeon for a little while won’t you.”

‘Yes ma’am..’ they both mumbled as they took the girl by the arms

“Wait, mom I’m sorry! Don’t put me in there I don’t want to go again! Please! Mommy!”

The girl yelled and cried, but the older woman was not phased, she just turned around and walked away. The guards opened the cell door and tossed her inside, it was dark and lonely. The girl silently sobbed as she backed away and hid in a corner. The guards left and she stayed, all alone.
