Skill points - 3
We ended up cuddling for the better part of the morning only getting up when Araths stomach decided my seed wasn't enough to sustain it. I was a little disappointed she'd stopped me going all the way especially after I'd bought a skill for it but I could understand her wanting to wait.
This did leave me with 3 skill points to py with and while I really wanted to buy Araths primordial padin css thing for 50 I also needed to get some skills myself just to give me a leg up in this world. I would definitely be buying that css not the other options. It just didn't seem right to not get her the best. I just need to figure out how I get more skill points.
"So please expin to me how skill levels work."
We were now in the living room of her house, a room she'd dedicated to her weaving job. It was furnished with lots of half done rugs and bnkets with a few items of clothing scattered around. Controlled chaos was a good way to describe it.
Arath had put a dress on her equine half still a little shy about showing me anything down there but hadn't put a shirt on. This allowed me full access to her breasts if I wanted to interrupt her weaving. She was currently in the process of making me some new clothes out of some silk while I waited completely naked beside her.
"You ask questions that we teach foals." She gave me a sly smile. "You tch on like one to."
"Careful there. I might be tempted to again with them as unguarded as they are."
She gave her chest a shake just to tease me but began to expin. "Skills can be bought with skill points once you have completed there requirements and before you ask these requirements are unknown for the most part. Some species will tell their family and kin how to complete these requirements but rgely it's kept hidden. A good example of this is centaur females have a skill called broodmare. The requirement is to get pregnant and once they have, pcing points into it decreases the pains of pregnancy the higher the level the better the pregnancy."
I gave her a nod. It sounds simple enough but without knowing how to get certain skills quite limiting.
Arath continued. "Skill points are a little simpler. You gain them for doing your job or css, I used farmer as a metaphor st time but the same is true for my Weaver job." She held up my almost completed pants."This once done will give me 38% of a skill point. I know this because my job tells me. Simirly my padin css tells me I get a skill point a day just for serving you and an additional two for making sure you like me. And I want you to be aware of how much this means to me my husband. I would usually get one skill point every two days from weaving if I had the money and materials to spend the majority of both days weaving. To get potentially three skill points a day you could ask to mount me in the street and I would ask if you wanted me standing or on my knees."
She blushed having realised what she said then returned to her weaving trying to hide slightly. I gave her a kiss on the cheek only slightly nibbling her ear as I pulled away to show my appreciation for her dedication.
Helpful but still doesn't expin my css. I've tried focusing on it multiple times but I'm not getting anything like Arath expined. No pop up telling me how I get my own skill points.
"So just to crify skill points are the only way to increase skills levels?"
"You are correct my love."
And that answers my other question. I seem to be able to level mine up through use and that isen't normal. As to weather this is a unique ability of my css/job or one of my skills is up for debate. I would guess Primordial limit but without talking to another I was kind of screwed.
This ment my st three points were really valuable. I only needed to put one level to unlock the skill and use it meaning I could increase its level but what do I get?
There were no other skills avaible to me that said primordial or Paragon so either I had them all or didn't have the requirements for others so that only left me with basic skills.
"Are skills locked behind csses and jobs?" I asked hoping this was a no.
"Not really. Some skills are, these will usually have the css or job in the name but some csses bypass the requirement for some skills. An example is the soldier css. This css gives you the ability to purchase all weapon reted skills without ever touching one yourself. You can learn skills from other jobs like my weaving but because it's not your job you won't get any skill points for doing it."
So my primordial and Paragon skills are unique, got it. I guess I just need to search through my options and pick three. The faster I get them the faster I can level them up through use. I was also going to have to ask Arath to let me ride her to get that skill up there.
I sat in silence leaning against my centaur wife's belly just behind her front left leg browsing my avaible options till I found three I liked.
Sword mastery 1. Be the master of the bde.
Blink 1. It's possible to be in two pces at once.
Resistance 1. The best defence is simply one no one can get through.
I'll admit I was slightly annoyed there were no magic options I would loved to be able to throw fireballs but according to Arath I haven't completed the requirements to unlock any. So still a possibility for the future.
These three seemed like the best options for now. Sword mastery is basic but sometimes basic is good. I have confidence in my sword skills currently but if this system allows me to be better, I see no reason to refuse.
Resistance was simple but effective. Take less damage from attacks. Would work hand in hand with regeneration. Seems I'm going for a bit of a tank py style at the moment.
Blink was the closest to a magical skill I could get. I was a short range teleport but had a range simir to my presence detection... So I could 'blink' half a metre in any direction and now that I had it I've realised it has a one hour cooldown period. I have buyers remorse already.
I gave it an attempt and managed to move closer to Araths back leg. She gave me a look of mild surprise but that was it. Not to impressive then. I was hoping it would level up after the one use but apparently my limit skill wasn't that strong. And now I could feel the skill on cooldown, it was like it was just out of reach mentally but still touchable.
If this was how most skills worked passive skills that were always active are a lot more valuable in terms of utility. Now I just need to get my hands on a sword so I could train sword mastery.
"Ok one st question at least for now. How do skill levels compete and compare to each other?"
My centaur wife reached a hand around and pulled me back to my original position on her belly giving me a side eye that was full of promise and mock anger.
"Husband you tease, not while I'm working." She then showed me the pants she just finished. "Try them on."
"Mmmmm but I'm so comfy here." I whined with as much sarcasm as I could muster.
"If you don't put that thing of yours away I'm going to suck it instead of answering your question."
"That's not much of a threat."
Arath shook her head.
"Then how about if you put them on I will let you nurse from these." She gave her nipples a squeeze and I don't think I've ever put on clothes faster than I did just then.
"To answer your question is easy." She started pulling me into a hug that put my face in her tits. I took the offer and gently bit down on her teat.
"Aaaah my lord husband that feels good but your question, levels 1 to 10 are considered slightly skilled. These can be obtained even without skill points. For example a farmer without the job or associated skills can still be as good as a farmer with the job only if they are level 10 and below. This is true for levels 10 to 20 as well but it starts to differ slightly. Someone who has farmed the majority of their life might be as good as someone who has say level 15 but if you were to buy crops from either of these farmers you'd pick the one with the job."
"Why?" I briefly let go of the nipple to ask but returned very quickly.
"Because of any other skills the one with the job might have. Like an increased longevity of the food they produce."
Got it. So you can do it as a hobby but without the skills it's pointless.
"There is also the fact a farmer will get skill points for farming so he's more likely to do a better job than someone who doesn't."
So once you pick your css and job your kind of stuck doing that for the rest of your life. Kind of disappointing.
"Level 30 is when it changes. Anyone who has 30 or higher in a skill is considered unmatched by anyone without that level. These people are known in their respective communities for their craft but it takes a lot of time to get there. But just having one skill at that rank isn't enough. Swordsmanship is a good example because of how common it is everyone has decent points in it and if someone is level 30 and they are facing someone level 25 there isn't a lot of different in those levels meaning the level 25 could still win."
"So just so I have this correct. In terms of your job it's best to have a high level so what you make is of good quality but for your css the level you are doesn't matter just the difference between your level and the person you're fighting?"
"There's more but that's the basics."
Interesting I mused letting my hand trail down her abdomen. She does deserve a reward for this. A loud knock came from the door that I presumed lead outside. I let out an annoyed grunt at the interruption.
"You expecting anyone else?" I asked reflexively pcing my arm over Araths exposed chest.
"No." She commented standing up.
"Arath I know you're in there. Come out now." A voice distinctly male came after the knock. Not quite angry but getting there.
"Friend of yours?" I asked.
"No."
