Chapter 35: The True Love part-11 the last chance

The dawn of Day 5 brought an eerie stillness to the grand hall. The air was thick with tension, and an unsettling energy seemed to permeate every corner. The participants gathered once more, sensing that something different—something darker—was about to unfold.

At exactly 9:00 AM, the speakers crackled to life for what would be the final time. The masked figure’s voice was cold, almost mechanical, devoid of the pyful tone it had held in previous announcements.

“Good morning, participants. This is the final game. There are no rules. No guidelines. No winning strategy. This game is about survival, and only one truth remains: There will be no winner today.”

The room erupted into murmurs of confusion. Mr. A narrowed his eyes, his mind racing. What does that mean? No winner? What kind of game is this?

Across the hall, Satsujin Sha leaned back in his chair, a sinister smile pying on his lips. He had been waiting for this moment, and now it had finally arrived.

The participants stood frozen, unsure of how to proceed. Suddenly, Satsujin rose from his seat, his eyes locking onto Aira Kun.

“This game isn’t about love,” Satsujin decred, his voice cutting through the silence like a bde. “It’s about control. About who holds the power when everything falls apart. And right now... I hold all the cards.”

Aira’s eyes widened as realization dawned. “Satsujin... what are you talking about?”

He stepped closer, his expression cold and unrelenting. “I created this game, Aira. Every move, every challenge—it was all part of my pn. There was never going to be a winner. Not for you. Not for Mr. A. Not for anyone.”

Across the room, Mr. A’s instincts kicked in. Grabbing Naki’s hand, he whispered urgently, “We’re leaving. Now.”

Naki hesitated, her eyes darting toward Satsujin and Aira. “But—”

“No,” Mr. A said firmly, tightening his grip. “We’re done pying this game. Whatever Satsujin’s pnning, we’re not sticking around to find out.”

Without another word, Mr. A and Naki made their way toward the exit. The doors swung open, and they disappeared into the shadows beyond, leaving behind the chaos that was about to unfold.

The room grew eerily quiet as Satsujin and Aira faced each other.

“You used me,” Aira whispered, her voice trembling with a mix of anger and betrayal. “Everything we’ve been through—was it all a lie?”

Satsujin’s eyes softened for a fleeting moment, but it was gone just as quickly. “No,” he said softly. “Not everything. But the truth is, you were never supposed to survive this game.”

Before Aira could react, Satsujin moved with lightning speed, a knife appearing in his hand as if from nowhere. The bde glinted in the dim light as he plunged it into her chest.

Aira gasped, her eyes wide with shock and pain. Blood bloomed across her dress like a crimson flower, staining the delicate fabric. She clutched at Satsujin, her breath ragged and shallow.

“Why...?” she choked out, tears streaming down her face.

Satsujin held her close, his voice barely a whisper. “Because love is the most dangerous game of all.”

Aira’s body went limp in his arms, her eyes fluttering shut. For a moment, Satsujin simply stood there, holding her lifeless form. The room was deathly silent, the weight of his actions hanging heavily in the air.

The doors to the grand hall creaked open, and the masked figure stepped inside, surveying the scene with an unreadable expression.

“It’s done,” Satsujin said, his voice hollow.

The masked figure nodded slowly. “Yes. The game is over.”

Satsujin released Aira’s body, letting it slump to the floor. His eyes remained fixed on her, a strange mix of satisfaction and no regret on his face.

As the final echoes of the game faded into the darkness, Satsujin Sha stood alone in the center of the grand hall—a victor in a game no one could win, surrounded only by shadows and silence.

The Game of Love was over. And in the end, it had consumed them all.
