  "Of course! Do you even know who our captain is? The strongest Subject Z and the pride of China! Forget a mere level 30 Super King Beetle, even one at level 40 or 50 wouldn’t stand a chance against her!" The shield-bearing man burst into ughter, showering the red-haired girl with praise.

  With her back to them, the red-haired young woman kept her head lowered, one hand over her chest as she quietly steadied her breathing. Listening to their compliments, her face flushed slightly.

  "Hmph, calling it a low-level trash? That’s so not me! If it weren’t for the higher-ups ordering me to act arrogant as an example, I would never say something so embarrassing!" she muttered under her breath, her blush deepening.

  Without her noticing, the group's assassin appeared silently behind her and patted her shoulder. In a calm voice, she asked, "Captain, are you alright? Is something wrong?"

  The red-haired young woman stiffened for a moment but quickly straightened up, puffing out her chest with confidence. Waving a hand dismissively, she decred. "What could possibly be wrong?! A mere level 30 Super King Beetle isn’t even worth my time!"

  "I wouldn't expect anything less from the captain!"

  "The captain is invincible!"

  "The captain will lead the human race! All trash, step aside immediately!"

  Around her, the team raised their arms with confident smiles, their faith in the red-haired young woman unwavering. She could only respond with an awkward smile.

  In truth, she despised anything that wasn’t human, even the animals used for food. During meals, she always ate blindfolded, and just the sight of the Super King Beetle had already made her nauseous. That was why she had eliminated it in a single strike, if the fight had dragged on for more than three minutes, her revulsion would have rendered her incapable of battling.

  But that was something she could never admit out loud…

  "Hmph! Of course! Even the beastkin wouldn’t be a match for me! Our ultimate goal is the First Race, the Gods!" the red-haired young woman decred, keeping her back to them, her face slightly flushed.

  Since he didn’t belong to a race outside the 13 in the Ranking Order, the information avaible through detection was quite limited. At first, the red-haired young woman had assumed he was merely a human variant, but she hadn’t expected him to be a mythical savage.

  Although they were technically both human, she felt no connection to him whatsoever. More than that, the mere thought of being considered food by him filled her with disgust.

  "For the sole reason that we share the same race, I’ll overlook what you just said, if you leave now. Otherwise, you will die a miserable death" the red-haired young woman decred, her lips tightening as she raised her voice.

  But the savage’s intelligence wasn’t high enough to comprehend her words. Instead, with a wicked grin, he charged straight at her with full force.

  Even without high-level equipment, his level 45 status pced him among the most powerful humans in the world.

  The red-haired young woman tightened her grip on her spear and dashed forward at full speed. Axe and spear collided, sending sparks flying.

  Judging by size alone, anyone would have assumed she had been instantly overpowered. But reality was entirely different.

  Not only was she holding her ground, she was dominating the savage!!

  The red-haired young woman took a step back and, with a snap of her fingers, unched an attack at the savage. A fme took the shape of the character '大' and struck his body with immense force.

  The HP bar above the savage’s head dropped significantly, he lost a third of his life in an instant.

  However, the red-haired young woman was surprised. [Great Character Explosion] was the most powerful fire ability avaible to humans below level 50, yet even with a direct hit, the savage had not been completely defeated.

  "Captain, let me help you!"

  "Don't move! I can handle this alone!"

  Seeing her companions about to intervene, the red-haired young woman raised an arm to stop them. If they had gotten closer and seen her expression at that moment, they would have been utterly shocked.

  "Three minutes… I need to finish this quickly"

  Taking a deep breath, she charged at full speed toward the savage, her spear moving with deadly precision. The savage attempted to defend himself with his stone axe, but he couldn't keep up with her rapid movements.

  The surrounding rocks gathered around the savage, forming a sturdy natural armor.

  At the same time, the red-haired young woman's eyes burned with determination. Without hesitation, she threw her spear with all her strength.

  Meanwhile, the red-haired young woman walked away, closed her eyes, and sat on a rge rock. Her lips barely moved as she murmured to herself.

  Two minutes and forty seconds…

  She had barely managed to hold on. That savage was far too resilient. If the fight had sted beyond three minutes, then… Well, good thing she had been smart enough.

  "When can I quit this job? I can’t take it anymore!"

  With a heart full of regret, she shut her eyes, pulled a bottle of water from her storage system, and took a few sips.

  At that moment, the young woman with gsses suddenly lifted her head. As an [Explorer], her detection abilities had grown significantly with each level, allowing her to perceive changes in the surrounding space.

  "Captain! This is bad! To the left… no, to the right… no, on both sides! Thousands of presences are closing in from all directions!" she shouted anxiously.

  "What?! How far are they?!"

  "They're already here!"

  In an instant, two human figures appeared on either side of the red-haired young woman, followed by a massive swarm of Ice Blue Serpents and other low-level creatures.

  Floating in the air, Ma Mian tilted his head, observing the red-haired young woman and her team, until his face stiffened. Oh no! They had been so focused on luring monsters that they hadn't noticed what y ahead…

  Rumble! Rumble!

  A terrifying horde of special species charged toward them. Still not fully recovered, the red-haired young woman instinctively covered her mouth the moment she saw the overwhelming wave of monsters.

  At best, she could st another 20 seconds… Damn it! Couldn’t they have waited until her cooldowns were finished?!
