CH 27 – Fog, Horror… Forror

Firelight flickers from the sealed nterns mounted on the wall, and fog makes it hard to see anything. The clouds of fog roll over the anxious warriors, curious child, and worried maid. Through the door, they can't even see the gardens, much less the other wall, just a haze of dim light.

For a few long moments, that was all.

"Uh, has this ever happened before?" Wick asked Eth, who was still up on the bridge.

Eth quickly gnced at Wick, and shook her head, "No, I have never seen this effect before." Eth tried moving it with her hand, and created some small currents. I think she was a bit fascinated by it.

The water-crab wielded its massive cws even as Chaos nded on top of it, walking on its liquid surface, wielding a halberd of her own shimmering pale indigo magical power. They formed a wall of obviously trained fighters protecting the other two with less experience.

In the depths of the fog, a shadowy figure began to take form, seemingly appearing out of the ether. It was excessively tall, nky, almost sticklike, and with long arms and legs, far out of proportion with its torso.

Chaos, propelled by a berserker rage, unches herself at the unsettling creature, while the crab stays behind. Deeper and deeper she flies through the fog, never quite reaching the figure. In fact, she begins to fade away as the fog consumes her.

"Ssssshhhhh," a noise emanated from the figure. The chuckling of a young dy follows closely behind it, echoing weirdly in the room where it really should not be able to. The pce is pretty much a library, after all.

"Did you just eat mom?" Dirt child shouts at the creature, and even Eth looks unsettled. All of the gods inside of the room are panicking, because Chaos seemed to be the strongest, at least in godly powers, of them. Now she is eaten by the fog, which is now taking on a noticeably more turbulent edge.

Wick snapped back around to look at Eth, "What do we do Eth? WHAT THE HELL DO WE DO?" Eth gnced at her, and then back at the creature still slowly approaching. She was paralyzed, still unmoving from her position on the bridge.

"CALM DOWN BOTH OF YOU." A loud and stern voice emanates from the crab, having an immediate effect on the pair of girls and even the creature, which jerks back for a moment before continuing its approach at an even faster pace. "FOCUS!" The crab charges at the creature that is almost to the edge of the violently roiling fog.

The creature makes an awkward jump, and, taking a fog cloud with it, smashes in to the crab. The fog... Wick stares at the trail that the creature left behind it even as Eth stares in horror at the now thrashing cloud obscuring the newest member of the gods.

Wick seems to recognize something about my cloud and waves at Eth, asking for a dder. She receives it in the form of a translucent golden rope dder hanging down from near Eth's feet. She scampers up it, and whispers something in Eth's ear with a pissed off expression on her face. Eth gets confused at first, then her face twists into a mask of fury, but Wick holds her back from charging at the cloud.

Well, now that I've been discovered, my work here is done. I tell Chaos to go and tell them that it's over (the cloud around the weird crab thing fades away. It made a bunch of cracks in the floor.) and to tell them that the monster disappeared.

Before I could turn into wind and fly away, ughing gleefully, I felt a tugging and suddenly couldn't move. Well duri, I'm done for. Chaos has seized my windy cloak.

"Um, could you please let me go?" I ask, but for some reason her face twists into one of disgust, and now I'm worried.

She shakes her head. "I thought you were better than this, Walta. I'm disappointed." Wait, does she even care about the prank I just pulled? Does she just not want me to be weak? She also starts to walk back into the room where the fog is starting to clear. Damnit.

Is she gonna lock me in Eth's room? I don't want to be stuck in there! I struggle, trying desperately to get out of her grip, but the witch seems to like it, she smiles and ughs at me, saying "That's the fight I wanna see, champ!" She then proceeds to swing me around by the cloak, and fling me towards the center of the room, shouting after me, "Now you gettem!"

Sometimes I hate this weightless body of mine.

Well, I like it far, far better than my old one, it really is more in line with me as a person, but the cking sturdiness is always annoying, since I'm always trying to use it like my old body. That is, getting in fights and zhit. I don't do much damage anymore.

Gracefully I soar, in a personal streamer of fog, towards the huge crab thing. I try to redirect myself, but Chaos seems to have cast some spell to maintain my trajectory. I'm stuck. AGH!

Somehow, instead of falling in to the water creature, like any reasonable person, I pretty much just spt on it, reforming almost instantly. Now I am riding on the back of a giant crab. This is somewhat of a bad thing.

A vibration comes from below me, slightly muffled by my body; "Get off of me, gas." I probably should take offense at that, but I can't find it in me to care. I float up and off of the crustacean, and onto the floor. Now I'm in the middle of everybody. Um.

The dy in the robes looks down at me from her catwalk, Wick seems really pissed off, Chaos is guarding the door, and the crab... I have no idea about the crab.

"Um, can we resolve this peacefully?" I ask, fully expecting the answer to be 'no,' but surprisingly enough, Eth (that was her name, I forgot for a moment) lets out a shaky sigh and starts to speak, not a punishment, but an invitation.

*Sigh* "J-just sit at the table." She points at a table that had been pushed to the side of the room, which suddenly appears back in it's designated pce, which just so happens to be inside of the crab, but the crab just flows out of it, made of water as it is. Chairs teleport in quick succession, and the table of the gods is set.
