"WHERE ARE WE GOING?" I shout over the wind in my ears. This jerk just grabbed me and flew into the sky! If I don't hold on to him, a being literally made of fog, then I will fall to my death!
"TO TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT CREATED YOU!" He looks up, then back down at me, wait, am I taller than him? I think so. I'm just braced a bit low... "OR YOUR ROOM, OR WHATEVER THIS DESERT IS!" He stops in the midst of the sky, just below the clouds, and beneath the blue dome of the heavens.
"I wanted to show you this," He swings his arm around, showcasing the terrain, "The view from above is the greatest!" I just stare at the amazing ndscape. The sand I had been so in love with is now widespread, stretching out as far as I can see, with only the edges obscured by some kind of rain shadow, or fog. Maybe it's just the color of air here. It even has some patches of dirt here and there, like my body!
I wonder if I can make myself bigger, or reshape myself like cy?
An idea for ter.
I also can see what looks to be cracks in the ground some ways behind where we exited the skull. Pretty cool. Like dry skin or something. Can my skin dry out? I somehow doubt it.
"I love it, it's beautiful," I pause for a moment while looking at the ground, "But please don't drop me." he grins a shit-eating grin, and I feel fear.
He unches into one direction, roughly straight ahead of the skull's facing. I don't even yell, I just grit my teeth, grab him in the tightest bear hug I possibly can, then just hold on. the wind blows past my hair dragging it against me like so many whips. I can feel the outer yer of my skin peeling off (It is just caked on dirt, but whatever), revealing the smoother sculpted surface below.
We fly at what seems to be his top speed for somewhere around thirty minutes. I have no clue at how far that transtes to in distance, but I can safely conclude that it is a very long way. Then he decides that he is done.
Winston starts trying to push me away and wiggle out of my grip, and I tell him "STOP, YOU"LL THROW ME OFF," but he just struggles harder, not saying a word. I look up to try and see what he's trying to do, but find only confusion and fear in his eyes. Well, I feel the same.
At some point in the struggle, he starts kicking, then shortly after, he remembers that he can turn incorporeal. With a "GET OFF ME!" He becomes like a cloud, and I, like rain. I fall, and fall.
Then I smash down on a unexpectedly soft ground. Around me is dust and that is all I can see. *Cough, cough* It got in my lungs, and my eyes. It feels so fuckin' goopy. I try to wipe it out, but the brown paste just smears along the sides of my hand, slightly lighter in color than the color of my skin.
I squeeze my eyes shut, caking most of the gunk on my eyelids, then look down and find that my legs are covered in this stuff, in a way that looks like ash searing rock, but instead it is this... cy staining my ass. It's weird to be a different color than you have been for most of your life, especially when it is put against something that's stained your body before.
I feel a strong gust of wind that blows away the dust in the air, unfortunately covering the rest of me in it. I hear a voice, "Wick, Wick! Are you alright? Where are you?" I see the hazy form of Winston against the blue of the sky I was just in. He doesn't seem to see me.
The area I nded in seems to be a more muddy area, with less sand, and now a crater where I fell.
I wave my hand, he sees me immediately and zooms over. He kneels on the ground and begins to apologize profusely. "I am so, so sorry, I could have hurt you, are you okay? I was never like this before-"
"Hold on." I interject, "Just calm down and focus, please. Why did you drop me?"
"You were touching me, and I was scared. You didn't even want to be there and I dragged you up there. That's scary. I'm sorry."
I lean back on my hands and sigh, "Well, you didn't hurt me, and I found a cool new pce with this really nice cy. We'll call it even."
Winston finally rexes, and so do I. He still doesn't seem okay, though. I rete to that, because that's what I felt before I found my room. The sense of... not discomfort, but not discomfort either. It's a sort of disconnectedness, that you can't really notice until you've felt something else.
I just took it as a result of being here, I guess.
Can I help him by showing him his room? Might as well try.
"Hey, come with me." I gesture towards the skull
We stand in front of a door, roughly the size of mine, that is seemingly made of cloud. Winston stares at this portal with a focused awe, and I gnce from the marble-rimmed cloud gate to him, waiting for a reaction.
"So, what do ya think?" I ask him.
"What do I think? I think that this cloud makes me feel things, and that's kinda weird." He does have a point, that is a bit weird. Though, I feel a sense of comfort when I'm in or near my room, so I guess it's normal here. It's a bit sad, how easily I accept the craziness that is this pce.
Anyways, we stand between a pair of gardens, like the one I was summoned from. They have a lot less sand and dead stuff, though. The one on the right looks pretty normal, but I can't see inside the thick brush, which makes me nervous. The other is completely made up of moss and fungi.
I walk over to the mushrooms, and grab one. I take a bite, and it tastes really good!
Winston looks over ad says "You know that's poisonous, right?"
I look at the thing, slowly stop chewing, and spit it out. I jump to the ground, and start stuffing my mouth with and chewing the moss to get rid of any more poison. Then I look up at Winston, and ask "Why didn't you stop me!"
He responds with a little subdued chuckle, "Chaos said that we can't die. I think she's right."
