5- Second Star Battle

  Back to the Thebes Kingdom.

The kingdom was actually the merger of the three tribes. But the one who could be the highest authority over the kingdom was actually Goto. Not only he was experienced, but he was also the one with the most suitable disposition to rule.

Therefore, the other two representatives became the advisors which was actually only second to the ruler in terms of influence. At least that was how things worked in this pce.

Currently, Goto faced another problem that was pressing for the entire human race.

“A vehicle that can fly? Is such a thing possible in the first pce?”

It was actually the feasibility of the flying vehicle. Humans could ride a Pterosaur to fly but they had never seen a vehicle in which they could fly.

“But it is quite interesting. Get someone to invest in it then. I will await the result.” Goto replied to one of the ones in charge of reporting things in the Science Institute to him. The idea came from a pair of humans and a dwarf.

Goto did not refuse it outright since he saw things that were initially impossible become possible. He’d rather spend some time with it. If it were invented, the way humans move would be quite different.

Year Twenty Six of the Father God.

Goto heard something a bit concerning regarding something. It was actually the movement of a certain belief that he did expect to appear sometime.

It was the religion based on the Father God that he had witnessed decades ago. Goto had expected that someone would be using it with faith as a basis but to that extend…

Furthermore, he also received the news that the exploration group had returned and they were docked at the port already. He could see Chi You again and inquire about his adventures.

“How was your adventure?” the moment he arrived at the temporary residence, Goto finally asked Chi You.

“It was exciting. Furthermore, guess what I discover?” Chi You grinned mysteriously.

“Wait, is it really another continent?” Goto realized the implication and could not help but look at Chi You with a fierce gre.

“Yes. And there is no sign of human or any sentient being there. I am thinking about relocating the entire dwarf race there for a moment before, you know.” Chi You said.

“No need for that. They can blend in with us as long as they don’t cause trouble.” Goto replied seriously which made Chi You see how different the method of ruling between him and Goto.

“Here, I bring this pnt for you from that continent.” Chi You then grabbed a pot in which a small sapling grew. The sapling had a small, circur leaf. It was a dark green in color and Goto could see that the pnt itself was not from the continent the Thebes was in.

“What is with the pnt?” Goto could not figure out just by observing the pnt so he asked.

“Surprisingly, this is the pnt that have released fresh air the most during the day. If we pnt this in our pce, then we don’t need to worry about the potential air pollution.”

“Hmm, it is not as simple as that. But I think this pnt will be good for us. As for the concern over air pollution, we are going to discuss it on the next Science Institute meeting.”

After that, the two of them returned to the center of the government. It was actually what was known as a pace. There, they discussed the discovery of the exploration group in the second continent. Since then, a new general pn was formed.

Year Twenty Seven of the Father God.

Chi You went back to the second continent. At this moment, the human civilization had named their birth continent as Comberth. But there were still some heated debate regarding the name of the second continent since so many party wanted the reputation of naming the new discovered continent.

It was also the year where the spread of faith to the Father God Dian spread across the Comberth Continent. Even many civilians had heard of the name of the religion.

It was called Father God Congregation.

Fortunately, they were not harmful to people but their views were a bit peculiar. It was about the understanding of the will of the Father God. And since the unification of the human race was his will, they gdly accepted the result.

Dian who had seen this before could not help but shake his head. He did not understand why some people pced their faith in him. Dian regarded himself as a caretaker of the pnet. He had never thought of himself as above anyone else.

“Should I get rid of them?” Dian asked this question many times but refrained from taking action. It was because the development of faith was also one of the human race’s development.

But he definitely needed to guide them to the correct path before it was too far too te. It was because even some dwarves were also part of that religious group.

If he let them be, they could cause some damage to the progress of human civilization as a whole.

On the second continent, Chi You was having a good time building a new settlement deeper into the nd of the continent. The first settlement was a coastal city where they had nded.

The exploration group was expanding its influence on the second continent while also communicating with the Thebes Kingdom.

Year Thirty of the Father God.

The three representatives were growing older with each year passing by. They started to look for their successor so that the human race could develop further and was able to manage through another Star Battle.

This time, they hoped that they could overwhelm the invading enemy if another Star Battle were to occur in the future.

New species of animals and pnts were identified by the exploration group and the information was reyed to the Thebes Kingdom. The Science Institute then compiled the data and then entered them to their library.

Dian felt that the human race was strong enough now. It was because their foundation was solid now and their armaments were upgraded to the next level. So he had an interest in starting another Star Battle.

Before that, he needed to inform the three representatives about the next Star Battle since it was that important.

He used his power to make the cloud gather in the sky above the pace of the Thebes Kingdom. Goto and Kudungga who saw this then had a serious look on their faces.

They knew that something important would be conveyed so they walked outside the pace and raised their heads, looking at the formation of the clouds that resemble a human figure.

“Another Star Battle will occur in five violet sun’s rise. Prepare yourself.” A thunderous voice could be heard to all the citizen inside the Thebes Kingdom’s pace.

“We will heed your order, Father God.” Goto and Kudungga replied and saluted the cloud figure with respect. Seeing the ruler of the kingdom did so, the rest of the witnesses followed suit.

As for the followers of the Father God Congregation, they were fermently imprinted this event inside their mind.

After thirty years of improvement, another Star Battle would happen.

As for Dian, he returned to the Pnet Master’s space and saw the window panel in front of him. He saw the option to initiate a Star Battle. The process was actually simple. The one who initiated the Star Battle would be matched with a random opponent of the same rank.

Dian’s current rank was 1, it was because he was a new Pnet Master with a budding civilization so that was his current ranking. His opponent would definitely be also a rank 1 Pnet Master.

The issue would be their development progress. Just like the case with Leif, his civilization's progress was definitely better than Dian’s. So he also expected that the other Pnet Masters would make incredible progress with their civilization.

After the correct time had come, Dian ordered.

  “Initiate Star Battle!”

[The Pnet Master has initiated Star Battle]

[Matching with a random opponent of the same rank…please wait]

  [Match found!]

[The opposite Pnet Master has accepted your challenge!]

[Star Battle for the first rank Pnet Master is commencing!]

[There will be a rift that connects between the pnets of the two battling Pnet Masters during the Star Battle on the first and second rank Pnet Master]

[The win condition is to exterminate the created civilization of the opponent or if the Pnet Master of the opposing side surrenders]

[The Universe Council wishes every participating Pnet Master luck]

Seeing the familiar prompt, Dian focused his gaze on the st line. He had a suspicion that the Universe Council was watching over them. Why would anyone need luck if they were strong enough?

At least that was what Dian thought. It could also because his luck was not good regarding the opponent. After all, the one who did the battle was his civilization and he could only provide support.

Then a rift appeared somewhere on the Comberth Continent. The human race who had been prepared for the event then noticed the rift and moved to secure the pce. Fortunately, it was somewhere outside the main city, in the remote pce where no one came.

Dian then came to the space where two Pnet Masters faced off. Previously, he came a bit te because finding it for the first time was not easy. He did not bring Leif with him because it was not necessary.

He saw the opposing Pnet Master and saw that the Pnet Master’s physical form was actually a skeleton from a certain humanoid race. As for what race that was, Dian could not know.

‘Hmm…is the civilization of the other Pnet Master actually the Undead race?’ Dian could not help but ask that when he saw it. It also increased the difficulty of the battle.

One of the reasons was that the Undead race let out a special energy that was necessary for them to even exist. This energy was actually quite harmful for the living so no one would actively battle against them as it was time and resources consuming.

But Dian believed that the human race could use this as a learning material. Even better if they could discover the usage of the Undead race’s special energy for their own use.

For this battle, the human civilization had prepared ten thousand troops to be assigned to the field of battle. They first surrounded the rift, wanting to see what kind of creature would come out from there.

But they also detected the special energy emanating from the rift. The energy was affecting the human in real time and they could not help but analyze it.

One of the scientists who were tasked to be with the army said, “This thing is harmful to us. Perhaps living beings who touch that thing will be harmed, too.”

  “What should we do?”

“We will try our best to identify which method is suitable for us to neutralize this thing that comes from the rift.”

Soon, they discovered that the energy could be fended off by using a special material made from the mixture of Haluka and the mold from the second continent. Then they ordered the material to be included in the production of the protective suit as well as the gas masks that they had just discovered.

While this was in progress, the army could see a skeletal figure come out from the rift. But of course, the army shot it numerous times before the skeleton ceased moving.

Then they collected the remains and studied it. Meanwhile, the Pnet Master of the opposing side was astonished to see that his opponent not only used the Fog of War auxiliary card but the unit that his civilization had sent to the rift had died so quickly.

This caused him to not know the situation on the other pnet. Then he looked at his opponent. His opponent's physical features were the same as the race he had seen when the skeleton passed through the rift.

He knew that was the Pnet Master from the opposite side. He gritted his teeth as he ordered the Undead race to march toward the rift.

But of course, the effort was wasted since they were all shot down by the human army’s infantry unit using the flintlocks.

But he also noticed that the opposite side did not come closer to the rift. It meant that while they could defend, they could not attack the Undead race.

It was basically a stalemate. It was a dangerous situation where the battle would be prolonged but both sides had no choice but to continue the battle.

Dian also noticed but he was not worried. Sooner or ter, the human race would develop a method to counter the special energy. After that, they could unch their offensive campaign to the Undead’s pnet home.

The stalemate continued until a change occurred in the human civilization. Dian saw that his army started to wear a protective suit with a special gas mask that covered their faces.

He knew that the human race had completed their preparation. It was three months ter that they managed to mass-produce the protective suits as well as the special gas masks.

They also managed to identify some sort of strength hierarchy of the Undead. It was revealed due to the difficulty of killing the skeletons. The harder it was to kill, the higher the strength as well as its hierarchy among the Undead.

After that, the human race’s army started to enter the rift with their protective suits and special gas masks. They discovered that the things that caused harm to living beings were abundant in the opponent’s pnet home.

It was basically not habitable to the human. Not only that but the visibility was a bit low and the sky was darker. But the humans were curious about it so they started to do some scientific research around the rift of the opponent’s side.

The army then gathered at the rift as they began to build a base there as a staging point for their offensive. Just as they started building, the Undead gave them an attack.

The human army then gathered into a formation and they shot the Undead who was attacking them. Some of the Undead were holding a bone weapon such as swords, daggers, spears, etc.

But of course, they were no match for the barrage of shots fired through the flintlocks. The human army was vigint against long-range attacks since it could give them some trouble. So far, they had not seen any yet.

Then a tremor could be felt on the ground. The human army was tense as they detected movement in a certain direction. They even prepared their throwable explosives. Then the cause of the tremor finally came into sight.

It was giant skeletal figures. They were in the hundreds as they moved toward the rift!

The human army threw the explosives on their hands. It nded and exploded on the skeletal figures as well as their feet. Some of them fell but the rest kept moving toward the rift.

The opposing Pnet Master was ordering them to attack the humans at all costs. But from the looks of it, the human could hold their ground. More and more humans came out from the rift and slowly rotated with the exhausted soldiers.

Of course, some of the infrastructure had been destroyed by the giant skeletal figures but that was a small sacrifice the human could take. The remaining giant skeletal figures were shot down by the suppressing fire from the human army.

Then the construction of the base could not be deyed and the humans managed to build their first base on the enemy territory. But the weakness of the human also became obvious. They could not stay in the enemy territory for long and had to rotate with the other soldiers from their side.

Dian also saw this and knew that the other Pnet Master wanted to drag things out too. It was because the Undead basically had the home-ground advantage after all. But Dian believed that humans could overcome even that.

As the Star Battle progressed, the human race developed more effective protective suits as well as improved gas masks. Then one year ter.

Year Thirty-One of the Father God.

The human race managed to create the most suitable protective suits and gas masks. It basically meant that as long as they wore them, they could explore the other pnet.

Other than that, they managed to discover the weakness of the Undead. They knew that the Undead race had an Undead Fire inside their body. Extinguishing the fme meant killing them so the human army aimed for the weakness every time they saw an undead.
