Ch 97 - System Bazaar I

Blessing Evolved: [Blessing of the Forgefather (Moderate → High)]

  Blessing of the Forgefather (High):

Granted by Bralmir, the Forgefather, the one who paved the forging Journey for all the myriad races. You have proven your worth through the eyes of the Forgefather; as such, you gain his blessings. Through your connection with Bralmir, the strength and endurance of the Forgefather flows within you. Grants: +10% Strength and +10% Endurance. Enhances all records & Opens many Journeys for you to venture down.

“Well,” Archie smiled as he looked at the newest notification. “I guess that’s worth having roots dig into my arm.”

“That’s not all,” Bralmir chuckled as he pointed to his now root-covered forearm. “Identify it.”

Shrugging, Archie Identified his root-covered forearm, and his eyes went wide. “What?”

  Livingwood Propagator (Divine):

Livingwood roots from an Infantile Primeval Twin Ent. Meticulously nurtured to seek out and rejoin its other half. These roots in particular . . . Effects: Soul-Bond (Temporary), Self-Repair, Spatial Storage, Concealment & Resonance Wayfinder (Twin). Provides: +80 Int, +65 Wis & +40 Per. Requirements: Lv 80+, Blessing of the Forgefather (High).

Archie reread the description twice before looking back at Bralmir, “Propagator? What’s this for? And not to sound ungrateful or anything, but is it alright for you to be giving this to me?”

This was the highest rarity item he’d ever seen, and call it a hunch, but he was pretty sure it was far higher than a legendary rarity. The only times he’d ever seen a divine rarity artifact or weapon were in games, and they were typically wielded by high-ranking clergymen and popes, which he was neither.

, Archie chuckled. “I mean, I’m no clergyman, and giving me such a high rarity accessory would only get me more attention.”

"Bah," Bralmir replied, waving his arm over his shoulder in a dismissive manner. “I give what I want to whom I want, besides, the concealment effect on it makes others overlook it, so unless you’re face to face with another god or goddess, you should be fine.”

“And besides,” he continued. “I was going to reward you when the tutorial ended, which was going to be a blessing raise.”

"It caught me completely off guard while I was experimenting with Infantile Primeval Twin Ent roots, a Spatial Heart, and my own blessing. I was sent here with it still on me, and the finished result just happened to be at your level," Bralmir said with a wink, smirking at Archie, whose grin widened at his response.

Archie scoffed while shaking his head at the ground before giving Bralmir a pointed look, “You won’t get in trouble with the System, right? Cause it sounds like a -”

“Loophole?” Bralmir completed. “Every god and goddess with a blessed does this, rather, they’ve been doing this ever since Tutorials first began. Giving their blessed a leg up against other blessed when they’d go back to their own planet, something about not wanting them to lose face or something.”

“You haven’t before?” Archie asked, curious.

“Nope,” Bralmir shrugged. “None of my blessed were Tutorial Participants, you’re the first.”

"But with this issue of the dispersing fields cutting off their connection, most of them are going a bit over the top with their protections—doubling down on ways they can help their most favored blessed from your cycle," Bralmir continued. , he thought.

"Most favored, huh?" Archie repeated with a shit-eating grin. "So, I’m your most favored, huh?"

"The same way one might favor a street rat in their home," Bralmir replied, rolling his embered eyes with a sly smirk.

“Anyways,” Bralmir moved on. “As you know, the connection between us will be disrupted because of the dispersion field that would release from you because of the Tutorial Protections, leaving your body when you land on the random planet you will be teleported to.” Bralmir informed Archie, who in turn nodded in confirmation.

“As such, flexing your status as my blessed to gain your way into their teleporters isn’t something you would be able to prove.” Bralmir continued.

“Because the connection is needed for people to detect it, even if I still retain the effects of your blessing,” Archie concluded with a nod before furrowing his brows and looking back at Bralmir. “I’d still retain the effects of the blessing, right?”

“Yes, you still retain the benefits of my blessing,” Bralmir confirmed before going back to the main topic. “With that in mind, if you can’t use a teleporter to teleport to the Workshop, then make one on your own.”

“…Okay,” Archie said, digesting Bralmir’s words before responding. “But I don’t know where to start with making a teleporter.”

Bralmir nodded in understanding before pointing at the Propagator on Archie’s arm. “In there, I put in some basic knowledge about spatial magic any space mage worth their salt knows. You just need to purchase a low-sized empty information crystal and toss it in the propagator, and when you take it out, you’d be able to properly read through it.”

“And with that knowledge, I have to put together spatial runes that would go on the teleporter and tie them to the signal the propagator releases to connect to yours… right?” Archie replied while looking at the Livingwood Propagator’s description once again, specifically at its second sentence and its last effect.

“Effectively,” Bralmir nodded in confirmation. “I have the other Livingwood Propagator set up in another teleporter, constantly sending out its signal, looking for its twin. So once you build the teleporter and activate it, it should activate right away.”

“…So, they’re like radio waves of sorts, where you just need to match the frequency for it to work?” Archie asked while stashing his belongings into the propagator. As he placed the Totem of Spring’s Ascent, the last item on the ground, he realized he had only used a quarter of the propagator’s spatial storage. "This is huge."

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Bralmir smiled, holding back a quick jab before replying, "It’s a bit more complicated than that, but yes."

"Okay, seems simple enough," Archie said before noticing that both he and Bralmir were faintly glowing, similar to how he had glowed when leaving Bralmir’s domain the first time they met. He asked his last question, but before he could finish, Bralmir grinned.

“Let’s make a bet then, if it’s simple enough,” Bralmir suggested. “If you can’t get the teleporter up and running in less than three months, then you have to clean out one of my forge rooms.”

“And when I win, I’ll be getting a barrelful of that beer we just drank,” Archie said with a smirk, extending his hand, now clad once more in his chestpiece.

Chuckling, Bralmir shook Archie’s outstretched hand, the bet had now been struck.

As the glow around them grew in intensity, Bralmir suddenly remembered that he’d forgotten, seconds before the glow’s intensity reached its apex. “Don’t evolve, else the propagator-”

But before Bralmir could finish his sentence, Archie suddenly found himself standing on a gravel path leading to a medieval city, its towering brick walls looming over him.

Archie questioned himself as he looked around and took in the forest where he was teleported in.

  It felt… .

Very different compared to Bralmir’s handmade metal forest.

, Archie realized as he walked down the gravel path and toward the giant open gates that led into the medieval city. His Vital Sight

As he approached the gate, stepping off the gravel path and onto the cobblestone one, he noticed the lack of guards around the entrance.

Passing through the entrance and walking through the tunnel that led to the city the walls protected, Archie was greeted with a message.

  System Bazaar:

Welcome to the System Bazaar for the First Tutorial Event. You have been allotted a maximum of twelve hours to make purchases from the System-Mandated Stands within the plaza using the Tutorial Points you have earned. Once your purchases have been made, head toward the marble pavilion where you will begin the next step on your Journey.

Trading Tutorial Points with others is temporarily restricted until the second Tutorial Event. Any attempts at fighting or coercion within the System Bazaar will result in harsh repercussions.

Your remaining Tutorial Points will be stored until the next Tutorial Event.

Finding the plaza wasn’t a difficult task to do with Vital Sight

Along the way toward the plaza, he saw many people walking around the city, some in large groups, most by themselves, and others walking around with their children.

, Archie smiled as he saw an elven couple walking beside their child who was devouring an ice cream sundae.

As Archie made the final turn past one of the smaller walls dividing the city, he was greeted by the sight of hundreds of people gathered around seven distinct, large stands.

Stepping into the plaza, he deactivated Vital Sight

Each of the seven stands had a large sign overhead, clearly displaying what they offered: Tools, Equipment - Armor, Equipment - Weapons, Equipment - Accessories, Skills - Class, Skills - Profession, and Miscellaneous.

Walking toward the less crowded stand, the Miscellaneous one, squeezing himself between the crowd and muttering sorry as he accidentally stepped on a few boots.

Once he pushed himself closer to the stand, a large list of options he could purchase from the Miscellaneous stand greeted him.

After scrolling for a few minutes and finding nothing of value, Archie realized there seemed to be a filtering button on the top right corner.

, Archie thought as he finally saw items that were not herbs, vials, wood, and other types of junk.

  Newly Initiated Bundle (Common):

After collecting numerous recommendations and suggestions from previous Tutorial Participants, a bundle has been created to provide smoother transitions into the Multiverse. Items: USL Language Crystal, Book of Major Factions and Pantheons within the Multiverse, and a General Information Pamphlet about Class and Profession Evolutions. Price: 1k Tutorial Points.

, Archie thought as he purchased the bundle and felt them enter the spatial storage in his Livingwood Propagander and not in the spatial storage of his Spatial Ring.

Scrolling down even more, Archie found a couple more items that had caught his eye.

  Ornate Book (Uncommon):

‘The Myriad of Races within the Multiverse, 36th edition’ by the Librarian of the Horizon. A hardcover book that has been diligently written in describing the myriad of races that’ve existed within the multiverse. Status: Perfect. Price: 10k Tutorial Points.

  Ornate Book (Rare):

‘Rocks ‘N Shit’ by Gromskritt a Goblin Miner. A hardcover book filled to the brim with vivid details and images of the myriad of metals and ores that exist within the multiverse. Status: Perfect. Price: 25k Tutorial Points.

  Information Crystal (Common) – Empty:

An empty low-sized Information Crystal. Status: Perfect. Price: 10k Tutorial Points.

, Archie thought as he quickly purchased the two books and the empty low-sized Information Crystal.

As the Information Crystal went inside the Livingwood Propagator, he felt it slightly change, and when he took it out, he saw that it had changed from its previous light blue color to a dark purplish nebula color.

  Information Crystal (Legendary) – Filled:

A low-sized Information Crystal filled with ‘Basic-ass Spatial Magic’ by Bralmir the Forgefather. Status: Perfect.

“What?” Archie muttered in disbelief before chuckling in disbelief, ignoring the looks everyone around him gave him.

Tossing the Information Crystal back into his spatial storage, he continued to scroll through the list of filtered options he was given.

After purchasing a couple of crates of Iron, Steel, Silver, Blacksteel, Cold Iron, Meteoric Iron, and even more sandwiches for a bit less than 100,000 Tutorial Points, Archie learned that the coupon he held, Tutorial Bazaar Coupon (Unique), could only be used in only one stand and provided a 90% discount on the total purchase of the items he selected. He could have gotten this discount by pressing the star button at the top right of the description.

So, he decided to hold onto the coupon until he reached the tools-stand.

Just as Archie was about to reach the end of the list of items he could purchase within the Miscellaneous stand, he found something that made him blink in disbelief.

  Runic Surveyor (Common):

A mana-powered flying-surveyor-type drone crafted by a Runesmith. Made from reinforced steel and etched with various runes and simple runic scripts. Must be recharged periodically after use with Unattuned mana along with its Runic Controller loosely attached to the bottom of its base. Status: Excellent. Requirements: Lv 70+ & Humanoid Race. Price: 100k Tutorial Points.

Archie instantly bought the Runic Surveyor not even a second after reading its description and headed towards the other stands with a wide smile on his face.
