Chapter Three

  {System Notification: Leveled Up}WI

  "Is that all of them?" Ran wiped the sweat from her brow. She held her spear tightly and pulled it from a goblin's head.

  They just took down ten goblins each, about thirty XP each goblin. Not much, but she managed to level up and tame another goblin. She tried to use her Ego skill on it, but learned that not all monsters would successfully gain one even if she had a sufficient amount of mana. Though she can't communicate with it like she can with Giant, it was still useful in battle. She decided to name the goblin Goblin Gan Saek after its red eyes.

  Since she has leveled up again, she can tame another monster if she wishes, but she'll wait until she has an efficient amount of mana. It's time to move forward. Right now, only goblins have come to attack the school, but soon, it'll become a monster wave led by an E-rank boss monster. Neither of them will be able to handle it. This is the part where the school will become a bloodbath. But Yin Jae gnced back at the school, there's no point in getting involved and dying a dog's death with a bunch of idiots. In the webtoon, the male lead almost got killed at the school due to the Committee's negligence. Yi Kang-Su created a cult that sent nearly an entire school to its death. If not for Jaeung, most of those kids would have died, but what did he get after rescuing them? Hmph, they all deserve to die! Unlike the male lead, she did not harbor a sense of justice. Either they are her ally or her enemy. That's how she pns to live.

  {Quest Completed: Escape from the school successfully

  Quest Rank: G

  Reward: Bronze Item Box

  Penalty: Death}

  {System Notification: Bronze Item Box will be given to all survivors}

  A fsh of light and a floating Box in the shape of a bronze box, the size of one's head, appeared before the three of them. Each box will hold a reward randomly generated by the system, with a small chance of an E-Rank item appearing. Yin Jae remembered that Jaeung received an F-Rank item. Will it be the same this time?

  It was.

  "Woah, what is it?" Ran asked, staring at Jaeung's item.

  The one cubic centimeter subspace cube. It's an inventory item that can hold a house if necessary. While it is an F-Rank item, it can be upgraded with crystals, which makes it a worthy item. As for the other two, they acquired G-rank items. For Ran, she received spearman gloves with a small chance of critical attacks, while Tae-Young received a ring with additional strength points. Each item suits each of them well.

  As for Yin Jae, it was unexpected, but the item she received was also an F-Rank item.

  {System Notification: Item Received - Goblin Chief Neckce (F) = (Give this to a goblin chief to lead their tribe - This item will upgrade with the goblin in question). Gives a goblin leader status over goblins. Has an area effect that strengthens the morale of the goblins under the chief wearing this neckce.}

  What a great item! Unfortunately, it can not be used at this moment. Yin Jae felt a bit disappointed. There was no way she could trust Giant to have such a great item, because he was not a chief goblin, and he did not have leadership qualities. At least not right now, perhaps he'll grow as time flies. For now, she'll put it in the system's inventory until there is some use for it. Now that there was nothing else, they should leave before the next wave of monsters appeared.

  "Shall we go, then?" Yin Jae asked the others.

  "Where to?" Ran wondered.

  Right. The next thing they should do is save their families. But before that, they should find the female lead and rescue her immediately. With her status as the High Priestess, she'll be an important asset if they want to defeat one of the demon lord's subordinates. So, that makes their next destination the all-girls' Academy close to their high school. If they save her and a certain future powerful mage, they can defeat the demon lord that will fall upon this nd in a year.

  "We're headed to All-Girls Academy." She answered.

  This was an important event to help the male lead grow, besides meeting the female lead. She can't miss this chance to witness such a scene!

  "Do you know someone there?" Tae-Young asked.

  "You can say that. Anyways, I'm sure everyone here is worried for their families, so I thought we would go find them."

  "Count me out. My family is overseas, so they won't be here." Ran says.

  "I have a little sister, but she will be at the academy you mentioned, so that's two birds with one stone." Tae-Young pointed out.

  Right, both Tae-Young's parents are dead, so he had his little sister to care for, and as for Jaeung, he has twin siblings. As for his parents, they were not qualified to be called that. His sister should also be in the academy, while his brother is a college student at Seoul University.

  The trio made their way to the academy on foot. They had to pass a gas station where they stopped to gather supplies. Luckily for them, there were no people or monsters nearby. Yin Jae knew from the webtoon that humans can be much scarier than monsters. Using Jaeung's inventory, they gathered enough food to st them and maybe a few others for three months.

  When will she be able to access the shop?

  {System: The shop is activated after a special event.}

  A special event? That's not telling her much. What kind of special event will it be? When will it appear? After stocking supplies at the gas station, they began their journey to the academy. When they arrived, they were greeted by a horrible sight. Wyverns. There were at least a dozen of them flying around the school. If that wasn't icing on the cake, the goblins used the school as a base camp.

  They sat hidden nearby, trying to make a pn to infiltrate the building.

  "What now? Do you think they are still alive?" Ran asked.

  "Don't say such ominous things," Tae-Young whispered frightfully.

  It's only right for them to worry. The All-Girls has become a goblin's camp, and there's no guarantee the female students are alive. Yin Jae gnced over at Jaeung. She could tell by his dark expression that he was thinking about how to save his sister. Only times like these, he seems like the male lead from the webtoon.

  It's not going to be easy to get in. Wyverns have impressive sight, making it hard for even high-level awakeners to sneak past them. She'll have to pn a way to get them inside without being spotted.

  "Mistress, I go," Giant says.

  Yin Jae had almost forgotten. The two monsters by her side could easily get them in!

  Yin Jae thought it would be best to send Ran and Ta-Young inside first. As for her and Jaeung, they would have to find another way. They stood waiting in their hiding spot as her goblins took Ran and Tae-Young around to make it look like they just came from a certain direction. Once they entered, Yin Jae nodded at Jaeung as they slipped around to the back, hiding themselves from the Wyverns' blind spots.

  She would not have known about the open window if she had not read this webtoon and learned that Jaeung had also noticed this entrance.
