Chapter 17

A day has pass on the Sunset Breeze Pass City and a new legend had emerge.

Joshua had successfully taken out two of the Li clan's most powerful members, and the city was abuzz with tales of 'The Thunder and Rain' a being who struck thunder and calls upon rain to wash all his traces and blood of his victims.

His actions had sent shockwaves through the city, and the Li clan was in disarray.

The once-confident Li clan members now moved in tight groups, their eyes darting nervously at every shadow that danced on the walls.

The streets of Di were quieter than usual, as whispers of the The Thunder and Rain spread like wildfire. Fear had become their constant companion, a shadow that clung to them no matter where they went.

The mere mention of his name was enough to send a chill down their spines, and they had become the hunted.

The air was thick with tension, the city holding its collective breath as it awaited the next move from the enigmatic figure who had struck fear into the hearts of the Li clan.

The markets were less crowded, the laughter of children less frequent, and the sound of clanking weapons grew more prominent.

The Li clan had become pariahs in their own city, their power suddenly uncertain, their safety a fleeting memory.

Joshua had left a trail of whispers in his wake, each more terrifying than the last. The Thunder and Rain, they called him, the bringer of death and the cleansing power of the storm. He knew that his work here was not done, but he had to retreat, to regroup and train in the ways of the Immortal Realm.

His master, Hu Bin, had received the message with a proud nod, his eyes gleaming with the light of understanding.

"Go," he had said, his voice firm.

"The Tri Body Hall will hold. We will continue our preparations in this temporary peace." Master nodded.

Joshua took the words to heart and disappeared into the night, the crack of space swallowing him up like a whale swallows a fish.

His destination: the vast, unexplored world of the immortals, where he would hone his skills and prepare for the battles to come.

The Li clan had lost two of its strongest members, and though they would not be easily forgotten, their influence would wane for a time.

In this city, his legend grew, stretching like shadows across the city.

The whispers grew louder, more insistent, painting him as a hero and a demon in the same breath. The Thunder and Rain, they called him, a force of nature that could not be contained, a specter that struck fear into the hearts of the corrupt and the powerful.

Since reaching the Foundation Realm, Joshua's capabilities had expanded, allowing him to delve deeper into the immortal arts. In the quiet village of the Immortal World, he studied the texts that spoke of foundation level hypnosis that could command a person to his will for days temporarily and hidden spell that could erase presence of the target.

His mind soaked in the knowledge, eager for more, as he practiced the delicate dance of Spirit Qi manipulation.

The advanced hypnosis was a subtle art, one that required a profound understanding of the human psyche and a mastery over the flow of Spirit Qi. For days, he sat cross-legged in the small house, his eyes closed as he visualized the complex webs of energy that bound the mind.

He could feel the movement of the spells, the gentle coaxing of the Qi as it wove patterns of control and concealment. His heart raced with excitement as the runes of power grew clearer in his mind, the incantations etching themselves into his soul.

And then there is the hidden spell, the kind that left no trace of their use. He practiced in the secluded forest, the trees bearing silent witness to his progress. The art of concealment was a double-edged sword, one that could be wielded for good or for ill. Yet, in the hands of someone who sought to protect the innocent, it could be a weapon of unparalleled value.

Joshua felt a thrill of power as he mastered the spell, the very knowledge of this world shall be his. With a flick of his wrist and a whispered incantation, he could erase the presence of his target, leaving them invisible and untouchable. The possibilities were endless, and he knew that this spell would be a crucial tool in his arsenal as he continued his crusade against the Li clan unlike.

Now that he learned the advance versions of his arsenal, he should learn knew spell and on top of that he should also learn a unique thing about foundation cultivation, and that is flight.

In the quiet solitude of the forest near the location he first came, he practiced the art of flight, his body rising gracefully into the night sky.

The wind whispered through his hair as he soared above the treetops, the thrill of freedom coursing through his veins. He had to keep it secret, a trump card to be played at the right moment.

The ability to fly, even for a brief time, would give him an advantage that the Li clan would never expect.

The first few attempts were clumsy, his body unaccustomed to the new sensation of weightlessness. He crashed through branches and into the earth, but each failure only fueled his determination.

Gradually, his control over his Qi grew stronger, his movements more precise. He learned to glide, to hover, and finally to ascend with the grace of an eagle. The world looked different from this height, the troubles of the village below seeming so insignificant.

The feeling of true freedom washed over him as he soared through the night sky. The stars above twinkled like a sea of diamonds scattered across the velvet blackness.

He reveled in the sensation of the cool wind on his skin, the rush of air as he dove, the quiet hum of the world that could only be heard from such a height. The trees grew small beneath him, the whispers of the leaves a gentle lullaby as he flew.

But with every victory came a new challenge. Joshua's eyes narrowed in determination as he set his sights on the next phase of his training. He knew that to truly challenge himself, he would need to harness every ounce of power he could.

The Foundation Realm was just the beginning, and he was hungry for more.

After telling elder Yiping of his advancement, shocking and making him envy on how fast Joshua progress in Immortal cultivation. Elder Yiping is only at 9th level of Qi Cultivation, barely called a proper immortal cultivator but enough to protect a small village.

Joshua ask if he has knowledge on foundation cultivation but elder Yipin sigh and said "I am just a 9th Qi cultivator how would I have knowledge on the next realm."

Joshua sigh and started to think of going to a city but before could think further he was interrupted by Elder Yipin who took out an old book.

"Young lad I only have this one spell called spirit flame, one of the most basic spells you can get and I was keeping it if I was able to get in the foundation cultivation I would learn it but alas." Elder Yiping shake his head in resignation.

"Thank you elder!" Joshua bowed thankful for this elder for teaching him immortal cultivation even if its the basics.

Knowledge is precious in every world.

Joshua read the book with utmost concentration.

The Spirit Flame, a technique that could conjure a fiery blaze from the very essence of his Spirit Qi. It was a spell that required precision and control, a delicate balance that could be as deadly as it was mesmerizing.

For days, Joshua poured over the texts, his eyes tracing the intricate patterns of the runes that danced before him. He felt the warmth of the fire within, a dormant ember waiting to be stoked to life. His mind focused, he began the incantation, the words resonating in his very soul. He could feel the power building, the heat of the flame growing stronger with each movements of his Spirit Qi.

As he spoke the final word, a flicker of light danced at the tip of his finger. He held his breath, watching as the flame grew, fed by the very essence of his spirit. It grew from a mere spark to a roaring fire, the heat a tangible force that pushed back the shadows of the night. The flame was alive, a part of him, and he felt a primal connection to it, as if he had tamed a wild beast and bent it to his will.

The training was arduous, pushing him to the brink of exhaustion each night. Yet, with each failure, he only grew more determined. He could feel the potential within him, the power waiting to be unleashed. He was no longer the weak human he had once been; he was a force to be reckoned with.

And just as he was about to take his newfound abilities to the next level, news reached him that the second prince had dispatched a high-ranking emissary to Sunset Breeze Pass City.

The implications were clear: the prince had taken notice of the chaos, and he would not ignore it for long. He had hope it would take some more time as how communication is so backward in the world of D but alas it seems the prince is paying attention to the city.

With a heavy heart, Joshua knew he had to return. The crack shimmered before him, and he stepped through it, feeling the familiar tug as the world around him shifted and changed.

He emerged in an alleyway not far from the Tri Body Hall, the energy of the city washing over him like a wave. The air was thick with the smells of cooking meat and incense, the distant sounds of laughter and commerce echoing through the streets. Yet, there was an undercurrent of tension, a palpable sense of unease that had not been there before.

Joshua made his way to the Hall, his steps swift and silent despite the weight of his newfound power. The gates stood open, a sign that the Li clan had not yet moved against them. Inside, he found his master, Hu Bin, and his other disciples in deep discussion.

"A my youngest disciple you have return, come seat with your brothers and sisters!" Master Hu Bin called out interrupting the conversation.

Joshua bowed and greeted everyone as they started to talk about the high-ranking emissary sent by the second prince.

"The prince's envoy arrived yesterday," Master Bin said gravely.

"He's here to investigate the recent disturbances in the city. It's only a matter of time before chaos falls upon this city."

The room grew tense as the disciples exchanged worried glances. The implications were dire—the second prince's interest in Di was no small matter, especially with the Li clan's involvement in his schemes.

"As long as we stay put and behave they would not bother with us." Said Bi Lan.

"We can't be sure about that." Lo Kenshi said as he squint his eyes.

"Hmm what do you mean?" Said Master Hu Bin and the others look at Lo Kenshi.

"Master, the second prince's emissary is likely here to assess the city's loyalty," Lo Kenshi explained. "If he suspects that the all forces in here is not fully committed to the second prince's ascension, we could be seen as a threat, especially if the Li clan has painted us as their rivals."
