Chapter 6: Regret for Iron Not Becoming Steel
"Miss Ding, is there anywhere you feel uncomfortable today?" Zhan Yan kept her head down, quickly recording various data with the pen in her hand.
Ding Yifei's smile was not quite a smile, her fingers pressed against her chest, "Heart doesn't feel comfortable, counts?"
Zhan Yan's pen suddenly stopped in her hand, it was clear that this woman knew everything about her and Ji Weiyan's relationship. Hmph, are all mistresses so arrogant nowadays?!
She raised her head, her eyes scanning the woman on the hospital bed lightly, then instructed the intern nurse beside her, "Contact the internal medicine doctor on duty to conduct a comprehensive heart examination for Miss Ding."
Ding Yifei glared at her fiercely, her beautiful face twisted with anger, but soon replaced by a smile. After so many years of struggling in the entertainment industry, she was still able to keep her cool.
"Dr. Wei, no, it should be Mrs. Ji, I heard that you performed the surgery on me, I should thank you instead. However, there are some things that I think you should know..."
"Sorry, I'm not interested in your private affairs." Zhan Yan interrupted her with a light and indifferent tone, then closed his notebook and turned to walk away.
"My child is mine; I love him, and he loves me; he promised me that he would divorce you." Ding Yifei's voice sounded behind her, with a sense of urgency.
"Are you out of your mind? The third party is still so arrogant, do you want to lose face?" Before Xian Yan could speak, Du Xiao Mo, who couldn't bear it anymore, shouted.
Yan Zhan's feet seemed to be nailed to the ground, her entire body cold and numb. She slowly turned around, her clear and cold eyes staring directly at Ding Yifei's boastful gaze. The corners of her lips rose into a mocking smile, "Miss Ding, whose child it is doesn't matter, because he's already gone. As for divorce, it should be Shi Wei Yang who tells me personally, you don't have the qualifications."
Ding Yifei's lips were tightly pursed, and she was actually left speechless.
"If everything is fine, Miss Ding can be discharged today. After all, the beds in our hospital are also very tight." Zhan Yan casually threw out a sentence and then walked away with high heels.
"Did you hear that? If there's nothing wrong, then get out. Don't occupy the toilet without doing your business." Du Xiaomo yelled in a bad mood, grabbed Ding Yifei's arm and roughly inserted the needle into her vein.
"Ah! Be gentle, are you going to give me a shot or not." Ding Yifei wailed.
Du Xiaomo left the ward and went straight back to the office. As soon as he opened the door, he saw Zhan Yan sitting in a daze by the window. Her skin was as white as porcelain, pale to the point of being almost transparent. Her delicate face was expressionless, yet it inexplicably made people feel like crying.
The corners of her lips curved into a bitter smile, her gaze fell faintly on the injured hand, snow-white bandages stained with mottled bloodstains.
"Wei Zhan Yan, what are you trying to do with this half-dead look? Either get a divorce or make a big fuss, but absolutely cannot let the Qis have an easy time."
"He's having a hard time, can I be fine?" Xian Yan casually brushed aside the scattered hair on her forehead and walked to the side to pour a cup of warm water.
Du Xiaomo looked at her lukewarm appearance and felt annoyed, hating that she couldn't be more enthusiastic.
