I fell on my bed thinking about what I should do about Victor. I understood what my grandparents were saying, but I didn’t want to kill Victor or push force him out of town. Besides, I already promised that I’d help him figure out whatever he is. I waited patiently for Vivian and Alaric to get back. Dad wasn’t coming home tonight since he volunteered for the nightshift and will be back tomorrow. Within the next hour or so, I could hear their car engines and quickly ran down stairs
“You guys are finally back.” I said as they got out of their cars
“Someone’s excited to see us.” Alaric said
“I want you guys to teach me misting and phasing. And how to fly.” I said excitedly and they looked at each other.
“Alright, I’ll teach you, but I have to talk to your mother about…something unrelated.” Vivian said
“Is it about Victor?” I asked and she paused
“Did she tell you that he’s alive?” I asked and she looked at me
“Huh, she hasn’t told me that.” She said and I looked at her suspiciously
“So what did you want to talk about?” I asked
“That your friend might not be human.” She said as she walked into the house
“I already figured that out. I think he might be half supernatural, he might even know what he is.” I said as I followed behind her
“I doubt that, there should have been sign by now. Or his parents should have told him something.” Alaric said as he followed behind us
“Signs? I don’t remember having any other signs that I wasn’t human other than you guys. I probably wouldn’t have even known if you hadn’t let me drink human blood or told me.” I pointed out
“And it’s not like it’s a guarantee that his parents told him anything.” I added
“That makes the situation even more dangerous, if he doesn’t know anything, the likeliness of us finding out anything is low. Having an unknown element in our midst is more dangerous than having a proven dangerous one.” Vivian said as we made it into the living room and the three of us sat down on the couches

“So you think we should keep him at a distance too?” I asked
“No, infact I think we should try talking to him, or at least interact with him and gauge him. I trust my instincts above all else. But, we shouldn’t do it all at once. Maybe a series of random encounters in a small town would suffice. Also, I can tell that you are eager, but we can’t rush anything.” She said and I tried to calm my excitement
“That’s idiotic and reckless, what if he isn’t half and a full fledged supernatural. He could be over a century old for all we know, and pretending to be a human teenager. He would notice that something is wrong and who knows what his reaction would be.” Grandpa said annoyedly
“All the more reason to find out who and what he is. If he is a witch or werewolf we might be able to co exist in this town. Him being a helsing, demon, devil or vampire is the problem.” Vivian said thoughtfully
“Hah, the idea of a devil pretending to be a human teenager is laughable.” Alaric laughed
“Why would him being a vampire be a problem?” I asked confused
“Well, let’s just say the Van Ghouls and me by association, do not get along with other clans of vampires. Don’t ask why?” She said and when I tried to ask more, she placed a finger on my lips
“We’ll tell you when you are ready.” She said in a soft voice and I squinted my eyes at her
“I found something.” Mom said from the kitchen and every sped into the kitchen
“What did you find?” Grandma asked
“Alright, I ran his face through an international face recognition software. Very illegal I know. But I found a few matches.” She said and she showed them a bunch of images with Victor in them. In a few of them, he was with a little girl and a gorgeous woman with silver hair similar to his. The pictures were taken in various countries and states, Alaska, New York, France, Germany, Italy and many others. This made me a bit jealous, as I realized that Victor has been to way more places than I have.
‘So why would he come to a place like this?’ I wondered
“So you found a bunch of images, what do those prove?” Grandpa asked
“Look at the dates.” She said, and arranged the photos so that we could see the dates clearly at the top.
“10/11/2015. Isn’t that ten years ago?” I said when suddenly, the images started to distort. We looked at the images credulously as they distorted and slowly faded.
“No no.” Mom said as she tried to get them back, but they continued to fade and she sighed defeatedly. Even the original photo of him faded.
“What happened?” Grandpa asked
“No idea, someone could have noticed me hacking into the software and forcefully kicked me out.” Mom said as she continued trying to get the images back with no luck
“I don’t think so. I can sense faint traces of magical energy on your computer and also on your phone.” Grandma said as she waved her hand over the laptop and it glowed a faint silver colour
“Shit. The picture I took is gone.” She said as she searched her phone
“You can take another one tomorrow.” I said
“No, whoever this guy is, he clearly doesn’t want to be found out. So let’s just, leave it be for now. Chrissy, try and find out what you can about this guy?” Vivian said and started walking towards the door
“But isn’t that dangerous, you said that he is a vampire, devil, demon or helsing it is dangerous.” I said
“Well, I doubt it’s a vampire, they wouldn’t be able to pull off something like this without being close by or using some kind of enchanted equipment. A demon or devil could definitely pull this off. And a helsing wouldn’t be this sloppy to be spotted with a facial recognition software. They have the technology to erase themselves out of the system. So, that means that this guy is either a demon or devil, if he wants to kill us, we are fucked either way so doing a little snooping won’t make a difference. Besides, you won’t find out anything he doesn’t want you to.” She said as she opened the front door
“Where are you going?” Alaric asked
“For a walk.” She said and closed the door
“Am I the only one that thinks she’s acting strange?” Alaric asked
“No.” I said
