Chapter 4 Baby steps

You know that moment in Doctor Strange where the big bad bald dy punches a nonbeliever in her faith so hard that his soul is sent on a drug-induced trip across the universe and back in time for lemon tea? That's how my dreams felt.

I now have a certain amount of knowledge regarding the basics of sci-fi bullshit from many different perspectives. The most important of these to me are the basic replicator blocks from Stargate, but I'm still too far away; I need food first before I can put the super brain into action. When I woke up, I noticed my eyes seemed better after rest, which is good. Also, there are several small mounds of various materials that the legion of Mr. Wiggles collected. Thanks to this, I finally found flint for fire.

Looking down into the bck eyes (imagine) of the brave worm that would act as bait, I wanted to give him soce. "I thank you for your service; know that you will be remembered." I then picked him up and tied him to the hook, where he began to wiggle as he was programmed to. After an unknown amount of time, I finally caught a fish with my own profound skill and sacrifices that I was willing to make. Tossing the fish on a rock, I was struck dumb as to what to do now. My only experience with this was reading Chinese fanfiction where the MC randomly fishes to eat, usually from a public pond or some ke nearby, but after that, I gzed over meal preparation as it usually ends in hot pot and something about Chinese food.

The fish looked at me; I looked back. OK, so while I started a fire using the flint and steel found (and reworked into usable tools by nanites), I had my nanites eat the organs, bones, and scales as I didn't know what else to do, but I knew sushi was raw fish meat and went with it, hoping not to die of stupidity. I really should have asked for a starter pack, but no, thinking about sci-fi kingdoms and me as a young master with lots of girls, I got ahead of myself. Cooked fish was well, OK; it's my main source of food for now, so I just have to suffer for now, but at least I'm doing well so far. I have stable food and water, and I have a sort of shelter. Day 2 is looking up; next, I need to start improving standards of living. My first project was using stockpiled nanites to make a better tent. I went with a big teepee tent with nanites as the cover and sticks and support rope. Next, I canceled the production of Wiggles and started producing Wiggles Mk2 based on the va from Starcraft 2; it's the biggest and most complex thing I can make with my nanites currently.

It could do better at gathering; for now, the originals were now solely used for catching fish. I had it set up such that when the fish eats them, they bite back via the brain or through the gut, killing the fish and waiting for rescue.

At the end of the day, I was well-fed and had a small box full of salt (a byproduct of the water purifier) and provisions I stored for tomorrow.

I have discovered a travesty; it's day 3 of life number 2, and the call of the wild took me. It was the most embarrassing experience I've ever had! Luckily, I had a spade of nanites and the beach to clean up after, but as a modern man stranded on an isnd alone, my suffering was immense. Now that I think about it, it's a bit funny that all the lords and kings of Westeros and Essos use a chamber pot, including my fellow transmigration travelers who can't remember how or don't have the knowledge or resources to make toilet paper and toilets with complete plumbing. Sigh, I pity the fools.

My new day started with building facilities to break down waste (a bucket dug underground far away from the tent) connected by basic plumbing to a kid-sized toilet, all made of nanites. I still had to fill it up manually with seawater, but I was fine with it. The only problem was toilet paper, and using highly advanced sci-fi nanites seemed to be overkill, so I went with a spraying of ocean water and proper cleaning afterward. With that done, I had the nanites expand operations around my tent to gather more resources for more nanites and myself.
