The Journal of Amon Vosh, Vol. 88, Entry #48

The life of a bounty hunter is not one I would call glamorous. I spend all my time traveling across the land in search of boun-ties. Having over two hundred years of expe-rience helps, but I am still surprised at how desperate all creatures—humans and elves included—become when cornered, even in the face of the inevitable. I can’t count how many times I’ve almost lost a bounty because they would rather leap off a cliff or blindly rush into danger if it gave them the slimmest chance of escape.

As I reflect on it, I have come to realize that I became a bounty hunter for three rea-sons. One, opportunity to hone my skills, both in combat and magic. Two, the pay is more than adequate. And three, with each criminal I bring down, I can perhaps, in some small way, atone for the terrible things I have done.

  Ta’Kish, forgive me.
