As Rose started cleaning up my room, I just yed on my bed.

  I was still pretty anxious about someone else being here, but she seemed nice.

  But, knowing that I can’t live like this any longer, I look back at the screen in front of me.

  In the st 2 years, I have probed others about how game mechanics exist within this world.

  Turns out that everyone has the menu that I do. The idea of levels exists. The same with skills. It is pretty common knowledge.

  I’m not sure about the quest mechanics work, but the messages I see, at least some of them others see.

  But now I have a little more things to look at.

  The term New game Plus was something I had seen a few times in my life. It was with the quest for the background info. The initial message included it. And the update back in my st life was the new game plus update.

  But what bonuses I would get from this was unknown.

  Clearing the quest and level up messages, I open the main screen.

  Proficiency ?

  Pyer skills ?

  Equipment ?

  New Game Plus(NEW)?

  I notice that the background info is gone now, repced with the new game plus menu. I was still level 0, since I hadn’t killed any monsters yet. But my other menus have changed.

  Guard

  Pyer Skills

  Active?

  Dodge Roll

  Passive?

  Enhanced Memory

  That was the yout of the only menus that have needed info. My equipment was just the nightwear I was wearing, but the current set now was listed as dirty.

  But the new game plus menu was interesting.

  Proficiency Multiplier:1 - Cost 10 Points

  Instant Level Up - Cost 100 Points

  Instant Sword Proffencey Up - Cost 100 Points

  Looking at this menu, I was getting confused. I didn’t know what any of this was, but I remember the original message. I would gain bonuses during my adventure. This must be one of those.

  I could guess what the enhancement menu did. Each one was a way to make myself grow faster.

  And looking through the skill section, it was a pce to buy new skills.

  All of these required points, so I couldn’t do anything yet.

  But while I was looking through the skill shop, I saw a bunch of interesting things. Skills, normally locked behind form changes, or bloodline factors, were avaible.

  These would not be avaible in the base game normally, or locked behind other options in character selection.

  This made the gamer part of me get excited, but my cruel reality shot that down quickly.

  I was still scared to leave my room.

  Deciding to think about this with a more clear head, I close all the windows, close my eyes and go to sleep.

  As Nyx fell asleep, Rose continued to work.

  She was told that this was going to be an important job, serving directly to the Blut family. She had been around the family before, and had always held them in high regard.

  She saw the power of Hadron before. She had heard tales of Cordelia’s magic. And she had seen the unrivaled talent of Lilith.

  But, the person she was always fascinated with is Nyx.

  Nyx was innocent. He looked sweet and caring towards everyone.

  And he gave off the air of everyone wanting to protect him.

  And now, that very thing was her job. She would be needed to always be at his side. Be here before he wakes up, and only leave when he is asleep.

  And, she was happy about this.

  She understood her groups job was necessary, but she had never liked it.

  So, when given the chance to move away from direct jobs, she was happy. And now, that one chance lead her to this point.

  After gathering clothes from around the room, she pced the hamper by the door.

  Walking back over to Nyx, lying in his bed, she started to pat his head. A small smile appeared on her face.

  She then walked away to do some work before he would wake up.

  ∴

  As I woke up ter that day, and saw Rose sitting in my room. She was reading a book.

  When I made a sound, she turned and saw me getting up.

  “Good after noon, master Nyx. Did you sleep well?” she asked me.

  Not really comfortable talking to her yet, I just nodded.

  “Well, dinner is soon. I expected you wouldn’t want to eat outside of your room, so I told the kitchen staff to bring it here” she told me.

  This seemed very nice. I know that the other staff had been accommodating me for a while, but hearing them talk like it isn’t a big deal made me happy.

  Not really sure what to do now, I picked up a book from a book shelf, and started to read.

  I had moved a lot of things around my room during my time here, but it seems that Rose had pced them all back where they went.

  Shortly ter, a knock comes from the door. I also can hear the sound of someone walking away.

  Rose gets up and opens the door slightly. When she does this, I can feel my heart rate increase. Buy she quickly grabs the food tray pced by the door, and comes back inside.

  She pces it on my table. “Please come eat” she tells me.

  I come over and start to eat. But while I do so, Rose just sits behind me. As I enjoy the meal, that is all she does.

  It starts to unnerve me. I know that this is what some of the staff do during meals with my family, but it feels different there, and they are usually kitchen staff, who I know are going to eat after we are done.

  “Um, Rose, if you want, you can eat with me” I tell her, trying to fix the problem. This is also the first thing I say to her, other than hello.

  “No can do. If I eat your food, that means that the meal meant for you will not be fully eaten by you. If you don’t get enough food, who knows if you will continue to grow” she tells me.

  “Oh, ok” I say. This was upsetting since I don’t know when she is going to eat.

  But I finished my food. I was still feeling really bad and tired, so I was going to try and sleep some more.

  But before Rose can take the dirty dishes away, I grab a piece of paper from my desk and write a note to thank the kitchen staff.

  ‘Thank you for the food. Also, can you start sending 2 servings for meals? Thank you’

  And I pce the note back on the dishes. Rose looks down at the note but doesn’t say anything. She pces them by the door.

  I assume she is going to take them back to the kitchen after I fall asleep.

  ∴

  A set of dishes was delivered to the kitchen staff a little after dinner was finished. This had become a regur occurrence because of Nyx.

  But the staff never minded.

  They even quite enjoyed getting these dishes back.

  That is because, every night, without fail, there was another note.

  They loved receiving these notes.

  They even had a wall covered in them.

  So, without even trying to figure out why, they decided to start preparing two meals for Nyx.
