The night after mom and I spent the day in the capital was not very eventful. Dad told us that he couldn’t talk about his meeting, so we spent all of dinner talking about what we did in the city.

  Mom brought up how she ran into Sharon. Dad was excited about this.

  They told me how when they were younger, Sharon was moms friend through the adventurers guild. And when mom and dad became friends, he was the person who set her up on the path to becoming a court mage.

  Mom then made jokes about Emily and me getting engaged since they were good friends. This made me really embarrassed.

  In all honesty, since I wasn’t the heir to the family, and we are counts, there is no real political power I have. When Lilith becomes the head of the family, I won’t even have a title any more.

  I mean, if I don’t earn one myself. Many of the things in the game can lead to the pyer receiving titles in this country and several others.

  But when dinner was over, I decided to look around the mansion a little. I had done this several times at the one back home.

  I was hoping we would have some secrets, but I couldn’t find any here.

  Eventually it got te, and I decided to go to bed.

  I had to ask a maid to guide me to my room, since I had spent the night with Lilith st night.

  The next day was when Lilith was going to be taking her pcement test, so I just spent the day at the mansion waiting for her to get back.

  I decided it was the best time to also do my work for my tutors.

  And a little past lunch time, Lilith got back from the academy district.

  I was in the library doing some math work, when Lilith came barging into the room.

  “Nyx, I’m back from my test, let's do something together” she said.

  “Um… can I finish my work first?” I ask sheepishly.

  “Fine, fine. I can help you finish it” she said.

  But in all honesty, I didn’t need help on it. Not only had I learned this pretty well thanks to Mr. Cameron, and since it was math I had also learned in my past life. Just advanced algebra.

  I don’t even think calculus exists in this world.

  As I was working, Lilith was watching over my shoulder.

  But when I was done, we left the library.

  We spent the rest of the day together having fun.

  We had dinner with mom and dad, and she told them about the test.

  And after that, when it was getting te, Lilith suddenly hugged me.

  “I really wanted us to spend the night together again, but I have to talk to dad about something.”

  “Hmm, what's going on?” I asked her.

  “Nothing, just get some sleep, and we can spend all day together tomorrow”

  And with that, I headed back to my room.

  After leaving Nyx for the night, Lilith made her way to Hadrons office.

  Knocking on the door, she was let in.

  “Hm, Lilith whats going on?” he asked her.

  “Dad, what is going on with Nyx?” Lilith asked.

  “What are you talking about?”

  “Well, I looked at his work from his math tutor, and… I have no clue what any of this math is!” she yelled.

  Lilith was hailed as a genius. She had been taking csses with a math tutor for years, and around the time she was 11, she had already learned everything she would need to know to get into the royal magic academy. The same went for both history and nguage.

  Around that age is when she stoped taking those csses as well.

  “Hmm. Lilith, since you have learned about this, I think it should be fine to know, but you can’t tell Nyx.”

  “... Alright”

  “A year ago, the tutours came to me with a concern about Nyx. Apparently, he had completely absorbed everything they had been teaching him. And they had reached a point where they would be starting things he would learn at the royal magic academy. They asked wherever they should continue to teach him. I said yes. But just before we came to the capital, they asked for a meeting again. Apparently, he had not only learned everything they had taught you, but even everything that the academy would be teaching. According to them, he is a once in a generation genius.” Hadron expined.

  Little did anyone know at the time, but this was a side effect of the single skill Nyx had at the time, Enhanced Memory.

  It made it so Nyx not only remembered everything that had happened in the past perfectly, but anything new they learned, they would also memorize.

  A truly broken skill.

  ∴

  We have been in the capital for about 3 weeks now, and we had one more before we were going home.

  And today was the day Lilith was going to be learning how well she was pced in the royal magic academy.

  Currently, there are 6 csses you can enter. Those are the S, A, B, C, D, E csses. I had talked to Lilith about this and she told me she was definitely aiming for the S css.

  The csses were the breakdown of who you would take your core csses with. Outside of those, you also had choices for electives.

  The strange thing is that the csses are subject to change with every test. It was a highly competitive school, so this all made sense.

  Each css going down had more and more people in it, but S css only had 20 people. By the time you get to E css, it is just every other student, the ones who didn’t test into another css.

  With the fact that the amount of people being let into the school has gone up in recent years, this meant that E css could have upwards of 100 people in it.

  I was reading a book with mom in the mansion's gardens while we waited for Lilith to get back. Dad was doing work in his office.

  He had some concerns since his meeting at the castle, but he always told me not to worry about it.

  Eventually, I heard a maid lead Lilith out to the garden.

  Right when I saw her, I smiled and gave her a wave and she came running over to mom and me.

  RIght when she got over to us, she pulled me into a big hug. I was confused why she was doing this, but I didn't really care. I just hugged her back.

  After that, she sat down and started talking.

  “I did it. I scored the best in my grade” she said with a huge smile.

  “That's amazing, we have to tell your father” Mom said.

  “That's awesome.” I said, excited for her. I knew Lilith was smart, so it was always a possibility she would score the best.

  “We can tell him ter. I just want to spend time with Nyx for now” Lilith said.

  “Oh, yeah. You're going to not see each other for a while after this week. Its so nice to see my kids getting along” Mom said.

  But a comment she said struck me.

  I knew that Lilth was going to be staying in the capital. And I knew the school was year round and didn’t have any big breaks where students could visit home.

  But I had never pced that with the fact that I wasn’t going to see Lilith for potentially 4 years.

  ∴

  That night, dad had the kitchen staff prepare a feast for Lilith. Anything that she wanted, they made for her.

  Then over the next week, she had to prepare for school to start.

  And through all of it, I never left her side.

  Turns out, I was taking this not seeing her for years things pretty hard.

  I didn’t talk about it much with anyone, but Lilith was the only person I was close with. We had maids who had children around my age, who my parents tried to have me make friends with, but I was always too nervous around them. So I had no real friends.

  And eventually, the day came for us to leave.
