One of the children threw another snowball at me, I caught it but this time I didn’t toss it back, I crushed it against my head and compressed the ice and snow into one bloody ball.
I took a step, before throwing with all my strength towards the young man.
“You don’t know what’s good for you.” He countered the attack, forcefully throwing the snowball at mine.
They collided, and mine was much more loose and weaker so it burst open while his continued towards me.
This time however, I was ready for his attack. I caught the ball before immediately throwing it back at him.
During this time, instead of making a snowball filled with ice shards, he made a spiky ice ball.
He dodged my snowball and threw his at me.
I caught it but he had already thrown three more at me.
I had to duck, jump, and turn sideways to avoid the balls before finding a chance to throw.
Another miss.
I caught another one of his balls before putting it under my right arm pit, I then caught another ball.
I threw the ice ball before quickly throwing a second one.
Unfortunately, it didn’t make him bleed but I did hit his face with the second ball.
Is it me or does he look kinda pissed. Oh, that’s an ice sword.
He charged at me, eyes bloodshot, but I, having two brain cells, decided this was the best chance for me to smack his face.
I was ready, dancing on my toes, anticipating the slap.
Suddenly a small blue blur (sonic?) ran past me and collided with the young man.
It was Aveeno and her icicle. She swung it like a baseball bat, attacking him.
Her bat got cut in half, but the momentum continued and crashed into the guy’s face.
He immediately crumpled like paper and fell to the ground.
“Thanks.” I smiled.
She didn’t look so happy though. She stomped up to me before poking me repeatedly.
“Why didn’t you stay in your little igloo, there’s a reason why you are so far away.” She then got hit by a snowball but ignored it.
“What, you didn’t tell me to stay put did you?” And I also got hit.
“Just go back, it’s not good if the other see you, most that come to this village are refugees, they have a… complicated history with humans.”
“Alright” I caught a ball “I’ll go back, but if you have any games could you bring some?” and threw it lightly at her.
She swatted the ball and impatiently waved me off.
I dusted the snow off me before going back to my igloo.
It wasn’t long before Aveeno showed up again.
“I forgot to give you your clothes, I dropped them when I saw you fighting. Oh, and here are some bandages.” Then she left.
I went into the igloo’s only small room before undressing. I cleaned my body and wounds with snow before putting the bandages on and wearing the new clothes with difficulty. They were a bit bigger than what I’m used to but other than that, they were comfy.

I then cleaned up the place by removing the bloody snow and getting a fresh batch in.
Next, I laid in my bed, and promptly got bored in less than five seconds before I left the igloo again.
This time, I was going into the forest. I had my quiver and arrows and I wanted to hunt a small hare, that was my goal for the day.
I made sure not to get lost and made it, id say medium deep into the forest.
I quickly found small traces of snow prints on the ground and followed them silently. I saw a couple rabbit droppings hidden under a bush.
Tiny trails led into bushes and under trees, eventually I found the hare, nibbling on some weeds in the ground.
I crouched like a tiger, ready to pounce on my prey, if possible, I want to capture it alive, for... reasons.
Pausing every time I saw the hare’s ear twitch, I waited silently.
Soon I was rewarded as the hare came closer to me. Silently counting in my head, at zero I pounced.
Caught its tail, quite impressive since I only had one had to catch it, first try too.
Bringing my spoils of war home, I was greeted with an angry Aveeno and calm Glynn.
“Where” poke “were” poke “you” poke.
“Hunting.” I proudly displayed my bunny.
She then snatched my prize and slowly made an ice cage for it.
“I told you to wait at home.”
“No, you told me to go back, and I did, then I left.” I chuckled. “I remember you telling me that people wouldn’t like to see me, so I went to hide in the forest to hide how ugly I am.”
“You can go cry in a corner for all I care, no one is going to see you anyways!”
Before Aveeno could poke me with her now sharpen icicle, Glynn saved me.
“As long as he doesn’t go missing or get into trouble its fine right?”
“Thanks.”
“But you should listen to Aveeno, she is the tribe leader’s daughter, and she can punish you whenever she wants.”
“Yet she didn’t.”
Aveeno poked me again. “Don’t test me, I can shove this up where the sun don’t shine.”
I gave Aveeno a deadpan stare. “Who taught you that.”
“Doesn’t matter.” Poke. “Just listen to us, you don’t know the rules yet either!”
“Rule number one!” Poke “No fighting in the camp, disputes will be judged by the elders.”
Broken one rule already.
“Rule numero two!” Double poke “Everyone has a role and if completed will be given the corresponding respect.”
“Rule number three!” She poked me thrice. “Do you swear by the god of Froftjer to NEVER purposely reveal the location of our tribal village.”
“I swear I will never reveal the location of this village.” After agreeing, I felt my heart go cold before returning to normal soon after.
“Rule number four!” She tapped my forehead four times. “Respect everyone.”
“Rule number five! Listen to the tribe leader’s daughter without any questions.”
“I don’t think that’s a— “
“SIX!” She poked me in the neck as I choked. “Have fun!”
Why do I feel threatened by this.
All along, Glynn watched me suffer.
“What can I actually do though? You guys aren’t allowing me to go to the village.”
“Only” poke “if we come with you, you can go to the village. For now, LET SEE WHAT PURPLE MEANS!”
“Here.” Glynn passed a small bag with the sticky purple powder from earlier.
“Taste it.”
“What.”
“Rule number five!” She poked me again; I think I’m getting bruises.
“Fine.” I dipped my tongue into the powder, I mean, it was made of my own blood, right? So, it should be biodegradable.
“I thon’t thaste any ding.”
“Maybe it’s poison? Poison is purple right?”
That should’ve been obvious…
“No, poison is a subversion of nature, so it would’ve been dark green.” Glynn assured me.
“All we know is that its sticky, somewhat heavy and tasteless.”
I don’t like how it is a young girl saying this.
I poured the rest of the purple powder on the table and played around with it.
“Its easy to mold.” She said as she destroyed my building with her icicle.
“Do you have any books about magic?” I asked.
“Yeah, but they are mainly about ice and are not for outsiders.”
Today is not a good day for my ADHD. I need to do something other than poking some powder.
“Do you have the orb still?”
“Yeah” Glynn fumbled and destroyed more of my buildings. “It’s right here.”
“Thanks.” I opened my right bandages, only now I realized that my stub of a hand has blood clotted and is no longer bleeding, it was always bloody despite me cleaning it with snow.
I proceed to check my chest, and the three gashes are now a faint scar.
I wondered how I healed so fast, they must have drugged me when I was unconscious.
I rolled up my right sleeve.
“Can you sharpen your icicle to make me bleed?”
“Gladly.” She poked me and blood spilt just above my forearm.
I proceed to pour the blood onto the orb, making more powder.
“There is so much and it’s all over the place.” She poked the powder, a glob of it stuck on the icicle.
Is it too late to regret.
Sighing to myself, I began to clump all the powder together and made a very bad-looking elephant.
“What creature is that?” She poked it in the eye.
“An elephant.”
“What’s an elephant? It looks like a frozen phromter.”
I ignored her, what the hell was a phromter, and this powder was weird, I had sixty percent of the powder in the trunk and it was lifted in the sky like it was defying gravity.
Gravity.
“Is gravity purple?”
“People can’t see gravity?”
Awesome I think I have gravity powers, it makes sense, you can’t taste gravity, mass has attraction, and it is a constant weight.
I then faced Glynn and Aveeno and gave my most earnest smile.
“So, how do you use magic?”
