April, Age 772

  A month before Gohan’s 16th birthday Raditz sat him down to expin that he should have noticed that he was going through certain changes, but he shouldn’t worry too much about them, that it was his body’s way of preparing him for adulthood. Raditz told him that most Saiyans usually start going through this change around 17 which led him to believe that Gohan would go through it this year because of the year he spent in the Time Chamber.

  It had proven true when Gohan had begun eating a lot more than usual, so much more that he had to go out of his way to hunt for more food and put his new cooking skills to work just to fill his stomach. Gohan also started growing taller day by day until the day of his birthday when he woke and found himself standing at 6’ tall, almost as tall as Raditz who was 6’3.

  While they were hunting for some food Raditz decided to take the time to expin to him about certain smells he would start to notice more, especially smells that came from certain women, Raditz proceeded to give him a long and embarrassing talk about what the smells meant. Raditz went into great, detail about how Gohan would be able to notice if a woman already had a mate, if she was aroused, and in some rare cases if she was ready to breed.

  Raditz said all that with a big grin on his face enjoying Gohan’s embarrassment, before becoming serious and telling Gohan that he should be careful next year because some Saiyans sometimes go into a sort of uncontrolble mating frenzy, looking to breed. He went on to tell Gohan that there were instances where the frenzy could be deyed but that was only in cases were a Saiyan found themselves in a state of constant battle for their lives, but once the threat was removed the frenzy would hit the Saiyan in full force making them go mad with lust. They would become so mad that they lose themselves and become animalistic in their need to relieve their lust that they would bck out and not come out of it until their lust has been resolved.

  Gohan was worried when he heard that, but Raditz calmed him down by telling him that the st reported case was years ago, before his grandfather Bardock was even born, and the only reason he was telling Gohan was because he was half Saiyan, and he didn’t want to leave anything to chance. Raditz told him that the frenzy could be controlled for a while by training, but it would be better if he had a mate to help him which is why he always teased him about finding a mate. Gohan asked how he knew this if the st time it happened was so long ago, he told him that he was just repeating something Vegeta told him and that was something his father told him, and that he was just preparing Gohan for anything he could experience.

  Gohan prayed that he didn’t go through that and asked why they would go into the frenzy Raditz told him it was believed that it was some sort of instinct in them to breed with suitable females since Saiyan males usually died young, that it was their way of preserving their bloodline. Raditz also told him that Saiyans males were very fertile that if he did end up mating with a female that there was a rge chance of him breeding her in the first try. Gohan had asked if that was true then why didn’t he have more kids, Raditz replied that they were using protection at Launch’s instance, and she told him that she didn’t want more kids right now and he respected her choice.

  Raditz finished the talk by reminding him that if he had any other questions or concerns to remember that he could always come talk to him, and that if he started feeling any concerning changes in his personality to let him or Vegeta know. After that embarrassing conversation, they hunted for some food and celebrated Gohan’s birthday which was a rexed family affair, his grandfather had stopped by to celebrate with them, they cut cake, took pictures, and opened gifts.

  June

  Gohan took a month off from working in his b to spend time with his family much to their delight since Gohan had kept himself busy building the b, then setting it up, helping at Capsule Corp, and after running a couple of tests with Vanadis and Bulma’s help.

  Gohan had asked some of his friends for help but only Krillin and his Grandfather agreed to help, well Ox-King agreed while Krillin was more like force- encouraged by Android 18 to help especially after Gohan told them he would pay Krillin for his help. They went on to confirm that Gohan and Krillins’ bodies were several times stronger, faster, and more durable than normal Martial Artists like Ox-King. They theorized that this was because the two of them knew how to use Ki while Ox-King didn’t know how to use it so he couldn’t enhance his body to the degree that Gohan and Krillin could.

  They tested their durability by having Bad Launch shoot them with her excessive number of weapons that she pulled out of nowhere, including some C4 she had, Gohan and Krillin were the only ones that came out unscathed. Ox-King couldn’t withstand any of the bigger weapons without suffering any injuries, which Gohan healed. This led to Vanadis theorizing they could survive city destroying attacks and maybe even nuclear attacks but they decided to leave those theories untested, at least for now.

  They had also found out that some of his cells were completely different from humans and that of a powered person like Krillin, getting a closer look they saw that the different cells looked a lot like a small ‘S’. They ended up calling them S-cells after running some more tests and seeing that only Saiyans had them, but they did notice that the Hybrids had slightly more S-cell count than full-blooded Saiyans.

  Gohan currently had the most, for some reason, the leading theory they came up with was that the reason why he had more S-cells was because he was the strongest Saiyan, they also believed that S-cells could increase. They decided to test the theory out by having Gohan do some strenuous training and then checking his S-cell count again in a couple months, to see if there was any significant change.

  Which is why Gohan found himself training at 200x earth’s gravity in his base form against four clones, two who were Super Saiyans and two who were Super Saiyan 2’s in his Gravity Chamber. The four clones had fgs tied around their waist that Gohan had to take away from them for this training session, it was something he had come up with after reading a book about some sports that were pyed in high school.

  Bulma and Vanadis have been working at Capsule Corp since after the tests they ran they were building something for him, a te birthday present they said, saying that it would be very useful for his training. Gohan had asked them for a hint, but they had refused to tell him anything, so he let it go and was instead looking forward to seeing what it was.

  Gohan blocked a couple of rge energy bsts shot at him, a clone had hidden behind one of the bsts using it as cover to punch him in his stomach unching him into the air as another clone came charging from behind that one to kick him in the face, sending him backwards. This was followed by another one kicking him into the air towards one who delivered a double axe handle to his back sending him down to the ground where Gohan quickly rolled to his feet, just to see two Masenko’s and two Kamehameha’s closing in on him.

  “Shit!” Gohan muttered as he quickly raised his arms to block the attacks. The clones closed in on him two in front and two behind him waiting for him to come out of the smoke.

  The smoke cleared revealing Gohan standing there with his arms crossed in front of him, the top half of his Gi missing with the bottom half torn at the knee. Gohan gnced around trying to think of a solution, “Now what to do… I could try that, I guess it doesn’t hurt to try.” Gohan mumbled to himself as he got a sudden idea.

  Gohan fired two rge energy bsts towards the clones in front of him then charged towards the two clones behind him, firing four quick energy bsts at them making them knock them away, he used that distraction to fly past them as the other two clones started to chase him. Gohan’s path was soon blocked by the two Super Saiyan 2 clones causing him to stop and turn around to see if the other two clones were already closing in on him.

  Gohan smiled as they got closer to him, “SOLAR FLARE!” Gohan shouted, raising his hands to the side of his face, as the clones were blinded by the light.

  Gohan used the distraction to quickly grab the four fgs from the clones before they regained their sight, but once he was done, he flew down to the ground smiling as the light slowly faded and the clones regained their sight. They looked around for him, finding him on the ground next to the Gravity Control system holding all four fgs in his hand.

  The clones reverted to their base form nding in front him before merging back with him, Gohan turned off the gravity machine with a sigh, “That was pretty difficult.” Gohan muttered walking out of the Gravity Chamber. “I should shower and head home, I still have some studying to do.”

  August, Radom Wastend

  “It’s still not enough… what am I doing wrong?” Gohan said to himself, as he powered down, nding on the ground of where he had been training, trying to reach the next level. “It’s moments like this I wish I could talk to dad… he would know what to do.”

  “Gohan… Gohan can you hear me?” a familiar voice called out to him.

  “D-dad is that you?” Gohan asked surprised looking into the sky.

  “Yeah, son it’s me.” Goku said the happiness in his voice clear.

  “D-dad it’s so good to hear your voice... I’ve missed you.” Gohan said trying to keep his voice steady.

  “I’ve missed you too son and it’s good to hear your voice as well, I see you are struggling with something.” Goku said.

  “Y-yeah how do you know… can you see me?” Gohan asked surprised.

  “Yeah, son, King Kai has this crystal ball that lets me check up on you guys occasionally.” Goku said chuckling, “What you don’t think I wouldn’t check up on you guys from time to time.”

  “N-no it’s just… I-I didn’t know that you’ve been looking out for us, all this time.” Gohan said in disbelief.

  “You are my son, of course I’ll check in on you guys, the only reason I haven’t called before is because I don’t think it’s fair of me to ask King Kai let me contact you guys, but this is a special occasion.” Goku replied.

  “R-really what’s the occasion?” Gohan asked.

  “It’s… uhm…” Goku struggled to say.

  “Goku it will be better if I do the expining, if I leave it to you, you will just mess it up.” King Kai replied.

  “R-right heh…” Goku said chuckling.

  “Hello, Gohan how have you been?” King Kai asked.

  “Oh, hello King Kai, I’ve been good how about you, sorry for not greeting you earlier.” Gohan said quickly.

  “It’s fine Gohan, I knew that you would be happy to speak to your dad, so I don’t mind.” King Kai replied.

  “Nonetheless, Thank you for letting me speak to him, King Kai.” Gohan replied smiling.

  “No, problem Gohan, but like your father said this is a special occasion so listen closely.” King Kai said.

  “O-of course, King Kai, what is it?” Gohan asked.

  “When we checked in on you a while ago, I couldn’t find you on Earth, it took a while, but I found you on Yardrat is that correct?” King Kai asked.

  “Y-yes sir.” Gohan said.

  “That’s good, is it safe to assume that you learned some of their techniques, like the Instant Transmission?” King Kai asked.

  “Yes, sir among a few other ones.” Gohan replied.

  “Good, good, you see I was thinking that I never did thank you for changing the wish to include bring me back to life, did I?” King Kai asked.

  “T-there’s no need for thanks King Kai I just did what was right.” Gohan said hurriedly.

  “I know and that’s why I want to thank you because you are a good person Gohan, now I have the perfect thing in mind, but it will come with a couple of conditions, that I expect you to follow understand.” King Kai said.

  “Y-yes sir.” Gohan said.

  “Good, now I was thinking that since you know how to use Instant Transmission that I could allow you to bring your mother and brother to visit your dad here once a day every couple of months. I’ve need to talk to some people, but I don’t believe they will have a problem with this arrangement as long as you guys don’t abuse this privilege.” King Kai said.

  “… r-really sir are you serious?” Gohan asked.

  “Yes, like I said, I want to thank you and your father to some extent for what you’ve done for the world, and this is the best I came up with, but like I said I need to talk to a few people to make it official, but I don’t think there will be any problems.” King Kai expined.

  “That sounds amazing sir, thank you so much.” Gohan said smiling.

  “Like I said Gohan, it’s no problem, but you still need to hear my conditions, I expect you and your family to abide by them.” King Kai said.

  “R-right sir, sorry I’m listening.” Gohan said smiling.

  “It’s alright, I knew how excited this would make you, here are my conditions; condition one is that only your mother, and brother can visit, no one else and only on the day I approve of, I can’t have you guys stopping by whenever you want. Condition two is that you bring your own food because I don’t have enough food to feed more than one Saiyan mouth. Condition three is try not to destroy my pnet when you eventually spar, and condition four is for you alone I want you to spend some time here so I can train you.” King Kai said.

  “…y-you want to train me?” Gohan asked.

  “Yes, I do, I believe that you are capable of learning my Spirt Bomb technique, I have a feeling that it will prove useful to you, and I would like at least one living person to know it just in case.” King Kai expined.

  “W-wow I’m grateful for this opportunity King Kai.” Gohan said amazed.

  “Good, I’ll let you know when everything is ready, now I’ll let have a quick word with your dad.” King Kai said.

  “Hey, son, did King Kai give you the news?” Goku asked.

  “Y-yeah he did dad, I can’t wait to tell mom and Goten.” Gohan said smiling.

  “Yeah, I can’t wait to see your mother again, and meet Goten, oh and eat your mother’s cooking again, I’ve missed it so much.” Goku said.

  “Yeah, I can’t wait to see you too dad, mom will cook up a storm once I tell her we will get a chance to see you again.” Gohan said.

  “I can’t wait to eat Chi-Chi’s cooking again.” Goku said.

  “I hate to interrupt but you guys need to hurry up.” King Kai said interrupting.

  “Right, sorry King Kai, look Gohan like I was saying earlier, I noticed that you seemed to be struggling with something, and I think we might be in the same boat.” Goku said quickly.

  “What do you mean?” Gohan asked.

  “Let me guess what you seem to be struggling with… ever since you’ve mastered Super Saiyan 2, you’ve felt something deep inside you telling you that-” Goku started saying.

  “That’s there’s something more… another level.” Gohan interrupted.

  “Exactly, I’ve been feeling the same thing since I reached Super Saiyan 2 recently.” Goku replied.

  “Y-you’ve already mastered Super Saiyan 2?” Gohan asked surprised.

  “Yeah, I’ve mastered it recently, there’s not much else to do in other world besides train.” Goku ughed, “Anyway, I have some advice I want to give you that will hopefully help you reach the next level.”

  “R-really you think I can reach the next level?” Gohan asked.

  “Yes, I do, son remember I’ve told you that you are so much stronger than I am, you need to believe in yourself like I do, I know that if anyone has what it takes to reach the next level it’s you, I know it.” Goku said proudly, Gohan could swear he could see his dad smiling at him.

  “T-thank you dad.” Gohan said happily.

  “No problem son, which is why I want you to listen to these two pieces of advice.” Goku said seriously.

  “What is it dad?” Gohan asked.

  “First keeping to the basics is good and all for training but sometimes you need to think outside of the box to see real results, use that big brain of yours to come up with different ways to train.” Goku said.

  “…I see, I will dad.” Gohan said nodding his head.

  “Good now my second piece of advice… Power comes from a need, not a desire. You have to create that need.” Goku said. “Remember why you are training, why you are pushing yourself, and what you need to protect.”

  “I-I will… thank you dad.” Gohan said taking what Goku said to heart.

  “Good, sorry son but King Kai is telling me that I must go now, tell everyone I said hello, and remember that I’m so proud of the man you are becoming. Bye son, hopefully I’ll see you soon.” Goku said as his voice faded.

  “Bye dad.” Gohan muttered, smiling again. “Mom’s going to flip when I tell her.”

  (AN: The next chapter will be more action packed and have a few more time jumps because it will have Gohan doing some out of the box training, he will also go see and train with his father and King Kai. This volume is finally coming to an end since Gohan starts school on April 7th of Age 774, I was pnning on having the first couple of chapters focusing on him having some normal teenage problems. The problem with that is the Buu arc starts May 7th so that doesn’t really leave me with a lot of room to work with, but I have some ideas on how I can make it work, I just have to pn things out a little more and go from there.)
