Gohan woke up with a start when Goten’s foot hit him in the face, “…I should talk to mom about getting a bigger house, I’m not used to sharing my room. I should be able to afford it especially since I haven’t used that much money, I should talk to her about it.” Gohan thought as he sat up yawning and stretching.

  Gohan carefully got out of bed trying not to wake Goten, Gohan could hear movement coming from the kitchen indicating that his mom was up already. Gohan looked at his phone and saw a message from Raditz saying that he would be by in an hour.

  Gohan got some clean clothes and left of his room silently making his way towards the bathroom, brushing his teeth, and changing his clothes, then headed to the kitchen finding his mom already dressed, washing the dishes from st night, “G-good morning mom.” He yawned.

  “Oh! Good morning, Gohan.” Chi-Chi said jumping a little before she walked up to him giving him a hug, “what are you doing up already, I was going to wake you up after breakfast was done.”

  “…G-Goten accidently woke me up.” Gohan replied yawing.

  “Oh! Right, I forgot he’s been sleeping in your room since you left, he missed you a lot. Don’t worry I’ll tell him he has to sleep in my room from now on.” Chi-Chi said sighing.

  “No, it’s alright mom, I have a solution that I want to talk to you about.” Gohan said stretching.

  “What do you want to talk about?” Chi-Chi asked looking at him.

  “I was pnning on buying a new house with a couple of extra rooms, don’t get me wrong I don’t mind sharing with Goten, but I think he should have his own room as well. We could also have an extra room for when grandpa or if a guest stays over.” Gohan said determined.

  “… I know when you get like this, I can’t say much to change your mind, so I agree with your decision.” Chi-Chi said sighing, “But only if you buy a four-bedroom house we don’t need more than that, I don’t want you spending too much of your money on a new house when you could use it on your schooling.”

  “… that’s fine mom.” Gohan agreed.

  “Ok, now let’s talk about something else.” Chi-Chi said pulling two chairs’ out so they could sit down.

  “What do you want to talk about?” Gohan asked sitting down.

  “… Gohan honey you are getting to the age where your body will start to go through some changes, like-” Chi-Chi started saying.

  “Woah! Mom Stop!” Gohan said rising his hands, “I-I’ve read the books you left me while traveling to Yardrat, and Uncle Raditz had the talk with me yesterday.” Gohan said blushing looking down at his feet.

  “R-really?” Chi-Chi asked as Gohan nodded his head, “Oh thank Kami! It was awkward having to expin what sex was to your father, but it’s good that he’s a quick learner.” Chi-Chi said smiling.

  “W-w-what?” Gohan stammered his eyes widening in horror.

  “I mean your dad didn’t know a single thing about sex with him being raised in the mountains, so I had to expin things to him but boy once he learned the things we did-” Chi-Chi smiled fanning herself.

  “MOM STOP!” Gohan shouted covering his ears, “I don’t want to hear about you and dads sex life please.”

  “Oh, sorry honey I know that it’s a little uncomfortable talking about this with your mother, but it’s part of growing up so no matter how uncomfortable you feel I just want you to be better prepared than your father who had to pat check anyone he met to see if they were male or female, I remember when we first met he patted my-” Chi-Chi started saying.

  “MOM! please stop talking, if I have any questions, I’ll ask Uncle Raditz.” Gohan pleaded.

  “... ok so what are your pns for today?” Chi-Chi asked grinning.

  “Me and Uncle Raditz are going to Capsule Corp to talk to Vegeta.” Gohan said standing up wanting to leave as quickly as possible.

  “Do you have to go today, you just got home can’t you go another day?” Chi-Chi asked looking at him.

  “No, you know how Vegeta is, I’m amazed that he agreed to take the time to talk to me.” Gohan said checking his phone, to see if Raditz was on his way.

  “What do you need to talk to him about?” Chi-Chi asked.

  “I want him to tell me more about the Saiyans, like their history, culture, and other things like that.” Gohan said looking at her.

  “I see may I ask what’s with the sudden interest?” Chi-Chi asked.

  “I just want to learn more about the Saiyans, I think it will help me to learn more about them.” Gohan said shrugging.

  “I see well how long you think you will be at Capsule Corp?” Chi-Chi asked.

  “I don’t know it depends on how much Vegeta has to tell me.” Gohan said.

  “… ok just try and be home for dinner.” Chi-Chi said looking at him.

  “I’ll try mom, if I’m not going to make it I will send you a message.” Gohan said.

  “That’s fine.” Chi-Chi said as someone knocked on the door.

  “I’ll get it.” Gohan said getting up to answer the door, revealing Raditz, “Good morning, guys.” Raditz said waving.

  “Good morning.” They replied.

  “Are you ready to go?” Raditz asked looking at Gohan.

  “Yeah, I’m ready.” Gohan said nodding his head. “Bye mom I’ll see you ter.”

  “Ok, let me know when you are on your way back.” Chi-Chi called out to them.

  “Ok.” Gohan said waving as they flew into the air.

  They quickly found themselves outside on the Capsule Corp’s balcony, sitting across from Vegeta, who asked Gohan the same questions Raditz did about his mood and personality. Gohan told him the same thing he told Raditz, “… as much as it pains me to agree with Raditz, he might be right about what he said to you. The year you spent in the Time Chamber could have affected things in ways we can’t predict, it could accelerate or dey the Call to War, there’s also the possibility that you won’t go through it. The fact that you are the first hybrid Saiyan in history, doesn’t help things either. The only thing we can do is wait and see, but if you start to feel any changes in your mood or personality tell Raditz or me immediately.” Vegeta said giving Gohan a look that told him that he meant it.

  “R-right…” Gohan said nodding his head.

  “Don’t worry Gohan, if anything happens, we will help you through it.” Raditz said giving him a reassuring look.

  “Now that we got that over with, I wanted to ask what brought on this urge to learn about your heritage?” Vegeta asked.

  “I have a feeling that if I want to continue growing stronger than I need to learn more about my Saiyan side. I believe-no I know I can get stronger. I can’t really expin it but… I just feel that this isn’t my limit, and that I can climb higher and as long as I have this feeling, I will continue to push my limits to reach new heights.” Gohan said clenching his fist looking up with determination in his eyes.

  “… Good answer Gohan, spoken like a true Saiyan.” Vegeta said giving him a rare smile, “Alright I will do my best to tell you what I know, but you should know that I don’t know much because of what happened with Frieza, but I will tell you everything I do know.”

  “I understand, thank you for this Vegeta.” Gohan said nodding his head.

  “You can thank me by giving me that fight you promised me.” Vegeta said smirking.

  “Oh, I will, I want to see how much stronger you and Raditz have gotten.” Gohan said smiling back.

  “Good… now where to begin.” Vegeta said staring out at the horizon for a good while before nodding his head.

  “…This comes directly from what my father told me, our home world wasn’t always Pnet Vegeta, before living there we lived on Pnet Sada, my father told me that there was some sort of conflict which ended with the destruction of the pnet, forcing us to find a new one. We ended up nding on Pnet Pnt, it was the home world of a race called the Tuffles, we shared the pnet with them, for a few years before we got tired of how they were treating us, and we rebelled.

  This led to a 10-year long war between the two of us ending with the annihition of the Tuffles after the full moon rose for the first time in years after the war ended, we cimed the pnet for ourselves naming it Pnet Vegeta after my father. We started rebuilding over the years, but we soon ran into a problem, we didn’t have anyone to fight besides each other this led to us to building a spaceship to leave the pnet. Where we ended up meeting an alien race who hired us to conquer pnets for them in exchange for money and technology, unfortunately we ended up catching Frieza’s attention and you know how that ended.” Vegeta said.

  “… yeah, I do.” Gohan said nodding.

  “Good, moving on what else do you want to know?” Vegeta asked.

  “Yeah, what about our biology, how different is it than humans?” Gohan asked.

  “You have probably noticed but our senses of, smell, touch, hearing, and our eyesight is more enhanced than normal humans.” Vegeta said, making Gohan nod. “Physically looking besides our tails we are not that different from humans, but our bodies are vastly stronger, faster, more durable, we are quick learners, we have big appetites because of our high metabolism, once we reach a certain age our ageing slows down to keep us in fighting shape longer, we have incredible stamina, and we heal quicker than others.”

  “Speaking of tails, I’ve always wondered what’s with them, I know that we need them to transform into our Great Ape form, but do they serve another purpose.” Gohan said looking at Raditz who still had his tail.

  “I don’t know we’ve always had them.” Raditz said. “Vegeta?” Raditz asked looking at him.

  “Besides helping us with our bance when we are young, I don’t know either, but I also don’t care anymore because, I’ve outgrown my tail.” Vegeta said shrugging his shoulders.

  “Right, I remember when I first lost it, I had trouble with my bance… ok, then do you know what causes our transformation during the full moon?” Gohan asked.

  “The full moon releases an energy source that we call Blutz Waves when a Saiyan absorbs a certain amount of Blutz Waves through their eyes it causes a reaction in our tails leading to the transformation.” Vegeta expined.

  “I see, so there must be something in our genetic makeup that reacts to Blutz Waves causing us to transform… maybe by understanding our genetic makeup better I could find the solution I’ve been looking for to reach the next level.” Gohan mumbled to himself.

  “N-Next Level?!” Vegeta and Raditz said shocked.

  “I should talk to Bulma to see if I can use her b to conduct some experiments, or maybe I could ask her to help me build my own b that way I don’t have to come here all the time. It would be better to have my own b in the long run because I don’t think it would be safe to conduct some of the experiments in the city.” Gohan kept mumbling to himself.

  “GOHAN!!!” Raditz and Vegeta shouted braking Gohan out of his thoughts.

  “Huh? What happened?” Gohan asked his head jerking up to see Raditz and Vegeta standing up staring at him.

  “Gohan did you just say there’s a level beyond Super Saiyan 2?” Raditz asked looking at him.

  “Y-yeah I did.” Gohan said slowly nodding. “At least I believe there is.”

  “Expin!” Vegeta said watching him.

  “Ok, before I begin, I want to let you both know that right now this is just a theory, I haven’t proven it yet.” Gohan said looking at both of them.

  “Fine just get on with it.” Vegeta spat.

  “It’s like I said it’s a… feeling I have deep inside me… telling me that I can go further, but I have no idea how. I’ve been training hard to try and reach the next level, but I feel like I’ve hit a wall, so I decided to look for a solution outside the box.” Gohan said.

  “That’s why you wanted to learn more about the Saiyans.” Raditz said looking at Gohan.

  “Yes, that was part of the reason why.” Gohan said nodding. “The other reason was because I genuinely wanted to learn more about my heritage. I thought that if I knew more about the Saiyans then I could get an idea on how to reach the next level.”

  “And did you?” Raditz asked eagerly.

  “… to reach the next level?” Gohan asked, Raditz nodded, “Maybe… I think that to reach the next level I or we must push ourselves harsher than we’ve done before, but I have no idea where to start.” Gohan said looking into the sky.

  “We can come up with a solution together.” Raditz said looking at him.

  “Don’t speak for the both of us Raditz, just because we’ve occasionally trained together doesn’t mean I won’t take this opportunity to finally recim my spot as the strongest Saiyan.” Vegeta said smiling, standing up. “Now, if you don’t need anything else Gohan I’m going to get back to training.”

  “Actually, yes I have one more question.” Gohan said standing up.

  “Go ahead.” Vegeta said.

  “Where’s Bulma I wanted to talk to her.” Gohan said.

  “Bulma’s in the b working on something for me.” Vegeta said. “Is there anything else you need?”

  “No that’s it, Vegeta thank you for taking the time to tell me about the Saiyans.” Gohan said smiling.

  “… don’t forget you owe me a fight ter.” Vegeta said nodding one more time before leaving.

  “… Typical Vegeta, well you can count on me Gohan, I’m sure between the two of us we can come up with a solution.” Raditz said standing up and shaking his head as Vegeta left them.

  “Thank you, and hopefully you’re right, but until then we can spar from time to time.” Gohan said smiling.

  “… That’s the spirt, do you want me to wait for you while you talk to Bulma.” Raditz said.

  “No, you can go ahead and head home I need to talk to Bulma about a couple of things.” Gohan said shaking his head.

  “Ok, what do you want me to tell your mom?” Raditz asked.

  “I’ll tell her what’s going on.” Gohan said pulling out his phone.

  “Alright, I’ll see you ter Gohan.” Raditz said flying into the sky.

  Gohan called his mom and told her that he needed to talk to Bulma about something before he goes home.

  Gohan made his way to the b and found Bulma working on the computer, “Hey, Bulma.”

  Bulma turned around and saw him, “Hey, Gohan you guys finished your talk?”

  “Yeah, we just finished.” Gohan said nodding.

  “I see so what brings you down here?” She asked pushing herself away from the desk.

  “Three things actually.” Gohan said walking towards her.

  “Oh! Ok give me a sec I need to save my work.” Bulma said as she turned back around towards the computer.

  “Yeah, no problem what are you working on?” Gohan asked as he got closer.

  “… Vegeta wants me to come up with a new training program for him, but I’m having trouble coming up with something that can withstand his power.” Bulma said saving the work and turning off the computer.

  “Have you thought of hiring an assistant?” Gohan asked as Bulma turned around standing up.

  “I have but it’s hard to find someone to trust, and who can handle pressure well especially with all the things that happen around you guys.” Bulma said pcing her hands on her back stretching.

  “… you’re right we do get into a lot of trouble but thankfully we haven’t had any trouble tely maybe you should think about it again.” Gohan said looking away from Bulma.

  “… you might have a point; I’ll think about it.” Bulma said smirking at Gohan, “So what did you need?”

  “Are you sure, you seem busy, I can wait.” Gohan said.

  “Nonsense Gohan you are practically family if I can help you then I will, and I needed a break anyway so tell me what you need.” Bulma said looking at him.

  “… the first thing is I wanted to know if you could recommend any bigger capsule houses, particurly a four bedroom one.” Gohan said.

  “… what’s wrong with your current house?” Bulma asked.

  “Nothing is wrong it’s just that it only has two bedrooms and there’s three of us.” Gohan said.

  “Oh, right there’s three of you and you are a teenager, so you are going to need your own space.” Bulma said nodding her head, “… yeah I can find something for you guys, give me a couple of days, is there anything special you want?”

  “Besides the four bedrooms, I wouldn’t mind having my own bathroom, other than that I can’t really think of much.” Gohan said shrugging. “Once you have it let me know how much it is so I can pay you.”

  “… Hmm, ok I’ll let you know once I have it.” Bulma said nodding her head, “What about the other things you wanted to talk about?”

  “Oh! That umm… I wanted to know if you could help me build a b.” Gohan said taking a deep breath before answering.

  “A b… you want my help to build a b?” Bulma asked, Gohan nodded, “… sure I can help you, but can I ask why, you know my dad and me don’t mind you using our b.”

  “Yeah, I know it’s just that… now that I’m going to be home for a while, I want to do some experiments on a couple of theories I have and while I know you have no problem with me using your b, I don’t want to bother you at different hours of the day while running my experiments. Also, some of the experiments I want to run might have… explosive results and I don’t want to run the risk of injuring anyone.” Gohan expined.

  “… I see, if you don’t mind me asking what type of experiments are you pnning?” Bulma asked.

  “I don’t have a problem telling you, one thing I want to research is Saiyan Biology after talking with Vegeta and Raditz I realized that we don’t know much about Saiyans Biologically and I want to learn more. The other thing I want to do is run experiments on Ki to better understand it, and I also want to try and come up with some new inventions.” Gohan expined getting excited.

  “… Wow you seem pretty excited about this.” Bulma said looking at Gohan.

  “Yeah, I am, I know mom wants me to become a schor but after working with you on the st few projects I feel like becoming a scientist is more my calling.” Gohan said smiling.

  “Well if that’s the case then as a fellow scientist I don’t see any other option but to help you.” Bulma said smiling.

  “Really!?” Gohan asked.

  “Yeah, Gohan, I’ll help you build a b.” Bulma said smiling at him.

  “Thank you so much Bulma!” Gohan said giving her a hug.

  “It’s no problem, Gohan, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves, we have a lot of work to do before we actually get started.” Bulma expined returning the hug before letting go.

  “Of course, I’ll follow your lead.” Gohan said nodding.

  “Ok, then before we get started...” Bulma said walking over to a desk and pulling out a pen and notepad, “We should make a list of things you will need like, a location, equipment, etc., and anything else you want to have in your b.”

  “Right.” Gohan nodded.

  “Wait, you said there was something else you wanted to ask me what was it?” Bulma asked pulling up a chair for her and Gohan.

  “Oh! Right, it’s nothing major but it was just an idea, but I don’t know which of our friends would be interested in it, so I want to ask a few before we do anything.” Gohan said.

  “Gohan if it’s an idea you had then I’m sure our friends would probably enjoy it so lets hear it.” Bulma said smiling at Gohan.

  “Well, alright if you say so, I was thinking what if we held our own Martial Arts Tournament.” Gohan said looking at her.

  (AN: Sorry I know I said I would hopefully have the chapter posted sometime st week but I hurt my back a little while working and I could barely get out of bed without being in pain but I’m better now so things should hopefully be better. The next chapter is going to have some action I promise and some interesting things as well so look forward to it, like I said st chapter I’m hoping to finish this arc in the next few chapters so I can get started on the Buu saga.)
